Yes! That one! And even after I pointed out side effects that my son experienced (as did I - I was also on this med!), she insisted it's a coincidence that we both experienced them while on this horrible med. Then said "well I've never had any other patient complain of any side effects". That's because who would ever expect suicidal ideations to be brought on by a freaken asthma medicine?!!

It actually did for both of my kids and for me. But the side effects (which I never ever associated with it - I honestly thought that I had developed anxiety, my son was just an angry, uncontrollable person, and my daughter was anxious and had low self-esteem) were worse than allergies. At one point I was taking a singulair AND a Claritin D every day and I still got pounding sinus headaches and couldn't breathe in the spring and fall. At first though, it DID help with allergies. As time went on (years. Years and years - my daughter and I were on it for 20 years and my son was on it for about 10), it worked less and less and the symptoms got worse and worse.
thanks. I never felt like it helped me a bit -- and I took a daily antihistamine as well. It is rather insulting that a doctor would knowingly put someone on it who is already on antidepressant. I can't wait to bring this up when he asks why I am not taking it.
Good luck. My doctor kind of poo-pood me when I suggested the anxiety was from the singulair. Since I've been off of it (almost 3 years now) I'm also off of my anti-depressant AND I don't even take Claritin any more. I take nothing.
