I live in Springfield and have also been to Haiti. While the cat eating is true, I’d also like to remind everyone that Haitians largely practice voodoo mixed with their version of Catholicism. Animals will be sacrificed during voodoo rituals. I have heard residents seeing this happen now in their neighborhoods yards. You always hear the voodoo drums in Haiti at night. Voodoo is not religion of peace and love. How would you like to have that next door?

Thanks for sharing!

On top of artificially inflated housing costs due to the influx of Haitians with our taxpayer dollars to spend on housing (I personally know individuals who’ve lived here their entire lives being displaced and no longer able to afford housing), the strain on the health system, out of control motor vehicle accidents (with fatalities), a strain on our schools with 1900 new non English speaking students, thefts and safety concerns (people are being surrounded in the local Walmart by Haitians demanding that we hand over money), eating our wildlife and pets, we also have a large portion of our population practicing voodoo. The animal sacrifices are horrifying enough but voodoo is an evil practice borne out of a desire for power and control not love and peace. Our frustration has nothing to do with race. I visited Haiti numerous times over the years with my church out of concern for the people. This is about importing a culture that is dangerous to our way of life and dangerous for our citizens and this is not sustainable. We have 20,000 or more Haitians (they’re still flowing in daily) in a small town of 58,000. They don’t need to assimilate, they are one third of our population and growing. They’re setting up camps on people’s lawns and when asked to leave, they call the police. I’m sorry for the rant. Jenna’s post gave me a good laugh and was most appreciated!

I totally agree with you. However, there are many out there that share the views of the previous commenter, that he is a pathological liar; maybe because the MSM won’t shut up about it and use every opportunity to call him a liar. Unfortunately, many take it at face value and don’t even bother to question it, let alone do their own research. Or, maybe they don’t realize that even if they do their own research and use Google, chances are they’re not going to be able to find the truth anyway. This is an enlightening episode on the Joe Rogan podcast explaining how Google has been interfering in elections since 2012. The guest has ALL the receipts and is admittedly no Trump fan and a former HRC supporter. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Azu8XnZdxeA

What I find utterly baffling and disturbing though, is even if they believe he’s a liar, how can “thoughtful independents” vote against their own interest (e.g. higher wages, low inflation, etc especially since he has a proven policy record to back these promises up) to support a candidate that is also demonstrably a liar and whose own policy actions have resulted in the mess in which we currently find ourselves. It often feels like two alternate versions of reality have collided and Trump supporters inhabit one reality and everybody else lives in some alternate version where things must currently be much better; otherwise, how could anyone think Harris is even qualified to hold the most powerful position in the world (unless you’re a conspiracy theorist, in which case, that position is occupied by the Black Nobility, Committee of 300 or some other shadowy group🤔).

Expand full comment

It depends.

I think its more an "in and out of" mainstream media dichotemy. If you are a conservative or a liberal, you live in two variations of a reality, and. then there is a third, which is reality. The reality is those of us on the outside see a fight between "government" and "government lite." while in reality less government is the answer, Not a slow in the rate of expanding government, but government reduction. This will not happen with either side.

The mayor spoke of cultural clashes. None of this is important. What would have been an effective position and extremely important was to state that sending twenty thousand immigrants to a small community was unsustainable. The rest is noise, guaranteed to piss off the masses. What a poor choice to focus on when an important point was a missed opportunity. America is a country of IMMIGRANTS. Until we understand that and accept that when immigration is done properly and conscientiously, this message won't convince anyone reasonable to vote for Trump, certainly not thoughtful independents who are looking to get behind someone with similar values that they can trust. How can anyone trust a pathological liar? Yes, all politicians lie. Trump is in a class by himself I'm afraid.

Expand full comment

I'd call Top Liar a dead heat between Trump and Kackala, frankly, but otherwise I agree with your points.

Expand full comment

I firmly disagree with the constant assertion that Trump lies. A lie is a deliberate distortion of truth and I have never heard him do anything more than exaggerate something he believes. He tells the truth as he sees it, which may not be the way someone else sees it. Kakala, on the other hand, lies constantly, as does Biden. Stories they make up for their own purposes ARE LIES. There is a HUGE difference!

Expand full comment

And I’d like to remind everyone MOST people see him as a liar after years of the media grooming us to see this. It’s so ingrained and unfair. You have to start to look closer at the facts and context to see it’s been blown way out of proportion. He is not one of the Top Liars. Not even close.

I think something bigger is afoot, but I am not quite sure what the game is yet. I am sure we will find out. I do not think anything said or done by Trump is accidental. Not all spies and infiltrators are on the side of TPoS (The Party of Satan) I just made that up, because let's face it....it is good vs. evil now. In the meantime,my beautiful town is falling into the hands of developers with no oversight, the city council is letting them build humongous multi story(6😳) box buildings in the old town, where everything is one story. No parking. Not enough water. All the small businesses are failing…I suppose it’s been naïve of me to believe in “White hats planning a long game to save us”after all..🤷‍♀️

Are there people left who still believe in honest politicians? Speaking of pathological lying, hasn’t Kamala been part of one continuous con of the American people as it relates to the cognitive challenges of the current “President”? The current Administration, including Harris even though she would like people to forget she is actually part of the current Administration, not to mention David Muir (totally unbiased debate moderator) accused Trump of lying when he said crime had gone up under Biden/Harris. Well it turns out that was not, in fact, a lie but is a factual statement. According to a post by Jeff Childers, a Substack author, citing a Washington Times article from yesterday, which used data from DOJ’s Bureau of Justice Statistics

“A expert cited for the story concluded violent crime has increased overall by +37% under the Biden Administration, compared to a drop of -17% under the Trump Administration. Aggravated assaults fell by -24% under Trump, but accelerated +55% under Biden. Robbery reduced -6% under Trump, but rose +63% under Biden. Rape ran flat under Trump, but rose +42% under Biden”

I would think thoughtful Independents would prefer to live in a country with lower crime; higher wages; lower inflation (which Harris also lies about); fewer dollars going to support an unwinnable war which may migrate to our borders if the Biden/Harris Administration doesn’t stop poking the proverbial bear; an end to unsustainable ILLEGAL immigration (if for no other reason than, according to Kamala, “nobody should be above the law”—says the person who put out a plea on X for money to bail BLM rioters out of jail and has allowed 10-20 million unvetted people to iILLEGALLY cross our border and stay here) resulting in chaos in multiple cities across the country; no fear of being mandated to stick an mRNA needle in the arm and hope/pray for the best as you watch previously healthy people dropping dead around you or being stricken with turbo cancer, myocarditis, blood clots, heart attack, etc.

If instead, those thoughtful independents prefer a continuation of the last 3 1/2 years (or worse), to having a President who may stretch the truth or mean tweet about someone, that is certainly their prerogative. It’s just unfortunate (and infuriating) that those of us who value policy actions and measurable results over words, will end up forced to inhabit the nightmare created by a Harris Presidency right along with those thoughtful independents that can’t recognize, or choose not to acknowledge, Harris’ lies and demonstrably terrible record because “orange Man bad”. In fact, if you believe the 2020 election was “fair”, it was those same thoughtful independents that got us into this mess in the first place.

It’s actually been refreshing having more people fact check Trump PROPERLY these days. The more people wake up, they are the ones that know what to look for and they are the ones uncovering that he told the truth. I’ve been watching closely the past month and every single lie he is accused of has been debunked and not a single one was found to be a lie. He is telling us the truth, or at least what he believes to be true in some instances. How’s that possible if he truly were “the liar” everyone thinks he is? No way could he go a full month without being called out on some kind of significant lie meant to hurt or deceive the public. They try, but it all falls flat. Just look at Kamala and her campaign and the media. They can’t go a day without creating or parroting a lie.

And the lies the other side tells are cruel, meant to remove your rights, meant to hurt someone deeply. If Trump did lie, it would never be of that caliber.

We all need to take a closer look at why we think what we do about him and fact check what’s feeding our belief.

I lived in Mexico City in 1967, attending the University of the Americas working toward an MFA. I lived with a woman named Senora Gaos, who ran the Student Center and had a large Burmese cat she had named Tufeek. (sp) She frequently mentioned worrying constantly that if he got out of her house other residents would eat him. My friend, another boarder who was a Franciscan Nun at the time, and I both enjoyed Tufeek’s company so we were careful not to let him out. He would often appear when we were eating, sit in a chair beside me, and gently touch me with a paw, telling me he expected a share of my food, and I obliged him. If the interval between bites was too long, he would very gently and politely touch my arm with his paw again.

Eating people’s pets is no laughing matter.

Your paragraph about being a beef eater in India is THE point to be made by everyone having this conversation. It is NOT racist to point out cultural differences with regard to food choices. That is the culture OVER THERE and WHILE THERE you would NEVER break into someone’s yard, butcher their cow (Grandpa!) and eat it in front of them. Just like you don’t snatch up federally protected animals and bbq them in front of everyone. If an American did that they would not only have the police on them, but city and county attorneys, and likely federal charges brought. Yet these people (in your face to demoralize you and everyone else) are not only free to do so, but are doing it in a home you can’t afford, with bbq sauce paid for with your tax dollars, while wearing clothing you provided and driving a better car than you. I have been to Haiti twice. Our adopted daughter who is now in heaven was Haitian. I have a huge heart for Haiti and the Haitian people. The second I heard these stories coming out of Springfield, I knew it was true. Why? Because of what I saw in Haiti. There are so few birds in Haiti. Like hardly any. It was rare to see one because they kill them. They hate dogs. The dogs in Haiti are strays and skinny (they don’t have food either). They don’t have traffic laws or decent roads and it’s terrifying to drive around Haiti. I heard they are going into stores and eating whatever they want as if it’s all free. In Haiti the stores (they look more like little convenient stores than the local Walmart) are all guarded with a guy with a machine gun. Imagine being hungry and then realizing that there isn’t a man with a machine gun to stop you from helping yourself. I am not excusing any of this behavior, but what the actual heck did they think would happen?! They knew. They absolutely do not care.

But this election is NOT about abortion at all, not like they are all making it to be. They want it to be about that. The right for a woman to do with her body what she chooses and to have medical choices is the most crazy argument in light of the fact that ALL of them supported Covid mandates and social shaming and destruction of anyone that chose differently. They don’t hear themselves and the hypocrisy. They are making this issue far more important than ALL the truly critical issues we are faced with today. It’s unconscionable.

They will never understand why it’s best left at the state level.

I had hoped that Kennedy would have a positive influence on Trump's debate performance. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Trump's behavior continues to embarrass me. Yes, one can say it's the positions that we must vote for but he's not even describing those sufficiently. His negatively is so disturbing. Rather than describe the Haitians as horrible, cat and geese eating, illegal people, he blew the opportunity to criticize the administration for putting 20.000 displaced immigrants into a financially challenged community that couldn't handle such an influx. I'm so disturbed by his continuing inappropriate behavior. He also missed the chance to bring up censorship and the epidemic of chronic diseases among our children. Those were all such important issues that independents are concerned about. Instead, he made a fool of himself once again. Kennedy sacrificed himself in the hopes of encouraging his independent followers to join him. I'm gravely concerned that was a poorly considered plan.

If we take a look at behavior can we consider what Hillary and the Dems did to Trump. Starting with the fabricated Russian Dossier, the Impeachment from a phone call to Ukraine (so much to hide). Then came the indictments, mainly for a book keeping error and questioning the 2020 election. The 51 Intel Operatives that claimed Hunter's Lap Top is fake news...stating: "Having the earmarks of Russian Disinformation." All lies. Who truly has the bad behavior. Criminal behavior, that is. I would like to polish the apple too, but I get it.

Making excuses for Trump won't solve the problem Michael nor will criticizing dems. If you want to evaluate him as a CEO - his history of bankruptcies - PLURAL, negates that positive opinion. In addition, he added more to the debt than any other president in history. What really is impossible for me to understand is that his tax cuts to his friends, the millionaires and billionaires of America cost us taxpayers enormous amounts of money. In exchange, the middle class got a few thousand. That's a horrible deal from any vantage point. As you're still talking about Hunters laptop, you clearly don't have a clue of what's important. Trump needs the independent voters, of which I am one. He will never get them, even with Kennedy on board, if he continues to behave like a child.

And the culture clashes will be horrendous and the collateral damage is going to be greater than we can imagine. We are being erased. Americans are being erased. America is being erased. I saw a Bald Eagle today sitting on a big lamp post. It was being harrassed by a crow or two, but it just sat there. The crows kept doing what crows do, and still it just sat calmly on the pole. Since DJT opened my eyes to the very real existence (ignore it at your peril) of the Deep State, Presidents have been more in the line of poseurs than runners, content to let all their appointees do the thinking and policy-making while they strut, puffy-chest.

Trump was surprised to find out how difficult changing the direction of the "ship of state" was, and although he was able to quickly fire department heads in his cabinet, his reach didn't go much deeper (where it is desperately needed). (Who cares if you say you're going to "play the major cities along the western seaboard" if the bus driver only ever takes you to Cleve-land?)

I am still in a human slump, but have somewhat recovered ! David Nelson! My new favorite man!
