It’s fantastic that Trump can get the media to talk about his vanity and weight with all that’s happening in the world right now. He trolls them so hard, they haven’t a clue. And it is glorious to watch. Not one media outlet understands this: ignoring Trump is far more bothersome to him than saying negative crap. He truly embodies the adage of “there’s no such thing as bad publicity.”

You can't blame the guy for treating the media like shit.

These are people that lie, misrepresent and obfuscate continuously.

If they don't act in good faith, why should he?

I tell my friends and family taking photos to 'make me look thin' all the time. I'm not delusional about reality, I'm kidding, but I also know there are better angles. Have we all not learned to take those photos from above to avoid that 'dbl chin look'?? and instead of saying 'cheese' I typically say 'suck in' . .. lol. What I love is that he's so real. He actually acts like a normal person. . . .

My mom had a full length “skinny mirror” she propped behind a door. I don’t know why it worked that way—it was a cheap dime store thing. We 3 sisters always used it and marveled at it. When she passed, I was the oldest so I took custody of it. Right away. Lol. Still, mirages only work until they don’t.

Honestly, I think it’s probably good that Trump is a little overweight. At his age, it seems to be healthier. So many older people look so frail, you know they’d have nothing to fight with if they did get sick (ref:Biden).

I think those types of requests he makes are funny, but that’s only because I don’t have TDS and I know he’s not clueless about actually being fat.

Contrast that with Biden when they asked about his flaws or weaknesses and he went “full retard” angry old man as if it wasn’t true and the reporter was the crazy one. That’s how you know he wasn’t acting, but had no sense of self-awareness and wasn’t living in the same world we are.

Thanks. I needed that Jenna. I’m older than he is so there are some realities of age that become a bit harder to overcome. I’ve learned to accept some of them. I just put on makeup without my glasses and don’t look through the close-up bifocal part. . It’s easier to cover bodies in a northern state winter. Summer requires no mirrors below the neck. But sleeveless is ok in hot humid northern state summers now (notwithstanding the mosquitoes). I’m expert at fluffing thinning hair up. There are others I just don’t give a bleep about anymore. It’s kind of freeing. But then, older women are fairly invisible. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I recently heard Glenn Beck explain Trump in a way that made so much sense to me. He said that Trump believes he can create reality with his words. That's why he repeats what initially seems crazy over and over again. Like "We need Greenland. We are going to own Greenland." When I first heard him say that I thought what the heck is he talking about? After Beck's commentary, I remembered that Trump grew up in Norman Vincent Peale's church. Peale wrote the best seller "The Power of Positive Thinking." Speak what you want to happen, and it will. I've heard the same ideas from many New Age folks as well; and this idea is quintessentially "can do" American. Although Peale's views have only a tangential connection to true Christianity (sin and God's wrath is sooo negative), yet the Bible does say "as a man thinks in his heart, so is he." It's a partial truth. Positivity is way more powerful than negativity. Trump has certainly been successful his whole life by adopting the idea that you speak into existence what you want to have happen, and it will. (In scripture only God speaks into existence something from nothing, but it's hard to argue with success.) There's nobody like Trump. With all of his idiosyncrasies, he is truly our Gray Champion as you have written so often. Nobody would dare to do what Trump does without an Everest sized ego. Pray for wisdom for him, so that his pride doesn't take him down, and the rest of us with him. (And yes he probably thinks his demand to "make me look thin" will somehow come into reality!)

Now if he actually cared about his physical health and appearance, he might want to talk to Bobby. I'm sure Trump is far too busy doing Presidential responsibilities, he doesn't have time to go on a fitness retreat or join a Pilates class.

He’s made it this far with his diet as it is. He has tons of energy and plays golf regularly…. I say don’t mess with what’s working at this point.

I’m saying this because my dad is similar. He’s 93, a little overweight, but healthy. And he eats a terrible, terrible diet. Tons of sugar and white carbs. But at 93 he’s only on 4 meds, which is pretty remarkable, and he has all his faculties, still lives alone with his wife (85) in a house with 4 staircases that he gets up and down daily. So I leave him alone about it.

Individual choice!

We have a lot of examples that seem to contradict our best current guesses at health. We don't know if those exceptions would be even "more" healthy if they made some changes.

Staircases are awesome. They keep you young!

I do wonder about Trump's diet. Do we only see the public facing part and the attention on eating and drinking junk food? Are we not aware that perhaps out of the public eye, he is actually eating "healthier" than we think?

That’s what my dad says about the stairs, that if they weren’t forced to go up and down stairs multiple times a day they’d probably have had to move to assisted living by now.

I realized I should add that my mother lived with my sister and brother-in-law the last 7 years of her life and lost weight and ate very healthy - still it took 3 of us to help her through many visits to the ER and hospital stays as well as constant doctor appointments. She died at 97-1/2. Yes, we use half years in the first years of life and the last years... (smiling)

Because of my mother and her generation, I've wondered about this. I think some of the older folks had enough of a healthy foundation with food when they were younger (actually for decades) that they lasted longer under the less healthy options that became the norm we have today. But I also know that my mother took a lot of medicine to keep her alive in the last 20 years of her life. Everyone has different genes too.

I guess even with all the power of the POTUS, you can ignore obese reality, but you cannot ignore the consequences of ignoring the obese reality:

It's not the camera or the reporters making him look fat. It's the fat.

He hasn't quite yet the stature of the naked emperor yet though—give him time to fix this fat problem.

Not convinced there will be consequences as at his age, he is doing very well, better than most his age and he has much more stress and yet laughs, jokes and is a happy man. And that makes all the difference. Biden is slender and miserable and thus very unhealthy, inside and out.

I'm almost always in the survey category of 50% or more. This time I'm in the 2% (clearly delusional). I'm sorry Jenna but this is way beyond "normal" human behavior. Let's call a spade a spade. Trump is delusional when it comes to his looks. It's not only that he asks to be flattered by photographers. It's that he goes to extremes to look better then his corpulent 78 year old body really is. Yes, it's also cultural, and therein lies the problem. He is a glaring example of vanity. Even Jane Fonda does it! But it's still delusional IMHO. Thanks and keep up the great work.
