I’m still standing on my hope that the CDC just goes away.

It does nothing. It would not be missed.

Kennedy has the game figured out. It just isn’t Candyland. He knows better than to throw a hissy fit right off.

The best thing is to ignore her.

John Wright's avatar

Absolutely! Cut the CDC down to eight people and their spreadsheets keeping statistics for us. Shut down all the "recommendations" and "advice".

BertPE's avatar

Maybe that’s the 5-D, to expose all the incompetence and lies. Kennedy’s lawyered up for it based on his experience. He and Trump are playing “good cop, bad cop”?

John Wright's avatar

That would be awesome if it's "good cop, bad cop" but at the moment I just don't think Trump has a clue about health issues. Trump used Kennedy to get elected and since then hasn't been very supportive.

nancylee's avatar

WE have to go away. never count on someone else to do what we need to do for ourselves.

🌱Nard🙏's avatar

I don’t know what this choice is all about…but I DO know that I don’t like it. I also know that the drama is making me oh so very tired.

John Wright's avatar

Which is why in self defense we have to "tune out" 99% of this drama. Self responsibility is more important than ever!

nancylee's avatar

yep. 'they' are rubbing your face in their malevolence and daring you to walk away. I say jog.

John Wright's avatar

Gotta maintain a little bit of dignity and walk rather than run / jogging in panic. 😇

nancylee's avatar

whatever it takes to de-hypnotize. and start living our lives rather than the virtual one they are creating. I finally understand the plato story of shadows on the cave wall

John Wright's avatar

Plato was ahead of his time!

I'll continue living in my own fantasy world. I don't like the one outside my door.

Yes. Don’t care who’s in charge, won’t comply with BS

SO, SO, SO TIRED

I am holding two thoughts, so I guess that’s good. I hate that the potential CDC Director is a vaxx (poison) advocate. I also know that the HHS Secretary, RFK Jr. wields the big stick. She is a mere footnote if RFK Jr. plays his role as intended. He has the magic 🪄

Marlene Swann's avatar

Hmmmmm…. Does L= Louise? Lois? I’m guessing Louise. Jenna Louise. Sounds right.

Also, my guess what the eternal optimist Jeff Childers will say? CDC stands for the Center of Disease CONTROL and Prevention, “control” being the operative word. She can’t make a move without our great MAHA leaders stamp of approval. That’s where I’m hanging my hat this morning.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

Damn! You got it! (Fun fact: My hubby's middle name is Fred. Not Frederick, just Fred. So we call each other Fred and Weezie.)

Marlene Swann's avatar

My moms middle name. So I had a clue.

Graphite's avatar

As in Flintstone? 😎

Occam's avatar

Is it me or has Childers been pulled to the dark side? He's sounding more and more like an approved mouthpiece of the administration, particularly with his zeal for destroying Iran.

FLGenX's avatar

Yep, ditto to this 😢🤞🏼 “I’ll leave it to Optimist-in-Chief Jeff Childers—the only guy I know who can routinely out-Pollyanna me—to sprinkle a metric ton of rose-colored glitter all over this mess for us later this morning.”

Janet's avatar

Is there a Bad Cop, Good Cop thing going on here ? 😊🤪🤣

Janet's avatar

I will carry on my own personal policy of I Will Not Comply. Harder.

John Wright's avatar

100%

It's time to get out my "I will not comply" sweatshirt again.

Janet's avatar

Indeed. I was about to order a Make 1984 Fiction Again T-shirt. It’s in my “Save for Later” box on Amazon.

John Wright's avatar

I just sent Jenna a photo of my "I Will Not Comply" sweatshirt (modeled by my former girlfriend). Perhaps Jenna will use it in a future post.

Juju's avatar

I swear that box is stuffed to the gills for me 🤣

Donna in MO's avatar

Don't know where you live, but might need to order the t-shirt - getting a little warm for sweatshirts. 😂

Bridget's avatar

The L stands for LingOL! 😂

...except even you couldn't make this one funny.

That said, I'm clinging - like a gecko on a wall - to the same faint hope as you, that she comes in and can do NOTHING except say things that liberals like. Please, please, please let Bobby stay in his position and have some teeth...

I believe RFK Jr can never be compromised. He said in his first speech announcing that he was running for President, “I’m going to die with my boots on”, and he said that with conviction. That conviction led him to join forces with Trump, and is still causing him to pursue the goal of *lasting* change, which means brining along the people who don’t want the change, which also means that playing the long game is necessary.

I couldn’t be more disappointed that the childhood vaccine schedule hasn’t changed, but the court decision that undid the changes achieved during the past year proves that the other side is massively vehement about undermining the changes, and that’s clearly forcing RFK Jr to change tactics. Just because he’s changing tactics doesn’t mean that he has given up on the goal. If I were in his shoes, I’d be choosing between changing tactics and resigning, and I’m encouraged that he’s choosing to change tactics. He’s got a big brain on his shoulders, and a big commitment to children in his heart. It’s fortunate that he doesn’t care about what the naysayers say. The task may be impossible (because there’s also substantial voter support for the other side), but he hasn’t given up yet, and I for one am going to remain a big fan. Some people can’t be compromised, and I think he’s one of them.

John Wright's avatar

Kennedy probably has more integrity that the entire rest of Washington combined.

John Wright's avatar

I like how Kennedy doesn't try to white wash the fact that he is a human and has done dumb things in the past like the rest of us. He *is* making America healthier! Not as fast as we'd like, but still some progress!

Crixcyon's avatar

Before anything else happens, please explain to me what the CDC has done over the last 80 years that has made any difference to the health of anyone in this country. It is one of the most useless agencies in existence.

John Wright's avatar

The CDC started out basically useless and then became dangerous (and a massive waste of money).

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

They have conspired with the Medical/Pharmaceutical Industrial Complex to make America the most unhealthy industrialized nation on earth... all for the benefit of the profit centers of their above-named co-conspirators.

Occam's avatar

That's a solid comment. As usual, the right is pulled into debating silliness as opposed to actually DOING something.

The left seems fully aware that when we are debating them, they're distracting us. And they bide their time, because when they get back into power, it's going to be a bloodbath.

Wendy McNamee's avatar

I don't even know what to think anymore. I was really hoping that we'd have an administration full of thought provoking people that proved we were following the science....just not your science. I was really hoping for change. But it seems like the only change is hopeful, not reality. They all get stopped before they can even really start. So I'm compuzzled. All the damn time. And this is no exception. The only thing I'll say is that Trump has surprised us before. Over and over. He's always playing chess. They're always working on a checkerboard. So maybe it's ok to hope....still???

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

I will continue hoping that RFK has figured out how to neutralize appointments like this, just as he decided to reconstitute ACIP rather than appeal a judge's decision to dismiss the commission.

Richard schoenenberger's avatar

I would like to think…hope…that the pres consulted with RFK before making the appointment.

Graphite's avatar

He's the one to do it, if it can be done ✔️

Russell Schierling's avatar

Could not agree more. When I saw that I was so pissed. But then again, RFK has been rather mum as of late on anything of real importance, and Trump talks out of both sides of his mouth regarding vaccines.

Russell - I’m going to promote your stack that I just discovered by stack author “Unbekoming”.

Your posts were masterpieces - even though they caused me to put my head in my hands (which hasn’t happened to me in awhile).

To Jenna’s readers - If nothing else, just watch the two very short videos at the beginning of these posts.

Thank you Laura - Part III will come out either this evening or tomorrow morning. It just depends how busy I am in my clinic today (whether I get a lunch hour or not). And have not forgotten about those embalmers, BTW.

Laura Kasner's avatar

I plan on posting a comment to Jeff Childers stack this morning. I hope it drives new subs to you.

I trust that you won’t forget about the embalmers Russell. 😃. Praying they will have the courage to speak with you.

Russell Schierling's avatar

This is not a dig to you, Jenna (especially because "Jennaside" is infinitely more clever than Coffee & Covid - or is it Covid and Coffee - I can never seem to remember?), but Childers has been my favorite read of the day since ????. My bro, a red-pilled MD, turned me onto it after looking up stuff on mask mandates early in the pandemic. I actually wanted Childers' firm to take my case (see my blog - an 8-part series with a total of over 300,000 words of transcripts with the planet's biggest AIs on their roll in my censorship and the censorship of others - I honestly don't even know if I have a case). My next post after Part III is going to be a short summary of the entire mess on Substack instead of WP. The video alone will be worth the price of admission (which is currently free). https://doctorschierling.com/blog

RFK has NOT been sidelined. You could watch his testimony last week in the Appropriations and Ways and Means committees, where he describes the astonishing changes he has effected in a year. I was encouraged at the level of respect given him by many in these committees, and those who attacked him just sounded like buffoons. Furthermore, when Trump spoke at the Turning Point event last week, he specifically honored Bobby and spoke about vaccinations and the need to return to a sane schedule. Do not lose heart, RFK is in a pit of snakes and is navigating as best he can. Trump backs him 100%. Let the man work, and pay attention to his accomplishments. And btw, when that stupid judge blocked his ACIP committee from modifying the vaccine schedule, he just cancelled ACIP and will start over. And it's completely legal! Let the man work! Pray for him! The demons want to take him down but I don't think they will succeed, especially if we don't turn on him.

Jennifer L.'s avatar

Lynn Barton, beautifully said. Agree 100% about the den of snakes. It is the same for all these three letter agencies in the swamp. Lara Logan’s latest interview (on Rumble) with the election fraud whistleblowers made my head spin sideways. They discussed who is policing who with federal elections to make sure voting machines are tested and operate properly so as to stop fraud. Spoiler alert: They are policing themselves 😏🙄

John Wright's avatar

Do not trust the Criminal Disease Center!

Remember... Trump started this all with "Operation Warp Speed".

Put on your Pollyanna hats and be glad we still have Kennedy bringing attention and changes to make American healthier.

The Charlie Brown analogy is excellent. Anyone that trusts the government at this point is a Charlie Brown. Once again, we MUST take control of our own health. The "authorities" are killing you.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

For what it's worth, I agree with you, Jenna, about Charlie Brown. It was hard to take, or even believe that he never caught on.

Bridget's avatar

Yes. It wasn't even schadenfreude, it was just sad. I loved Snoopy though!

John Wright's avatar

Yes! I was never a Charlie Brown fan but I was always a huge Snoopy fan!

Somehow I don't think Bobby Kennedy can be bullied.

JacquelineP's avatar

I think RFK’s post was appropriate. He needs to show he’s open to working with her - not snub her or go to war with her. That’s his role in the political world. Thankfully, he continues to have the upper hand. I’m sure RFK will be able to find lots of items they can both agree to work on - right now the focus seems to be healthy food and getting better data to base future decisions on. From Trump’s point of view, the appointment makes sense strategically. Toss a bone to the people who want to accuse him of stacking the health agencies with “anti-vaxxers”. Reduce that as a target for the midterms.

Graphite's avatar

Sounds like she is a 'Vaxxer' fully in favour of mandates and every 'vaccine' that is available...
