Good news is that there is now widespread Glyphosate awareness and a war is raging. In the meantime we need to minimize our intake of Glyphosate. Hats off to Florida for doing studies on brands of bread and cereal. This testing needs to be expanded and greatly publicized. Food manufacturers will speed up the elimination of Glyphosate when their sales crater.
"In other news, an independent source has declared Jenna’s Side the finest Substack ever written. Also, I’m the independent source. Is that a problem?"
This is Positively Paying It Forward, and I approve this message.
I applaud Florida for leading the way, but shouldn’t HHS, FDA or other be making this a nationwide list? I think food manufacturers would make real changes, real fast.
I agree with you- Florida is doing it right by publishing the information and letting the public decide. Most busy Moms don’t have time to research but would choose the lesser of evils if given the knowledge.
Unfortunately glyphosate really is embedded at this point. So the only thing that could happen quickly is that food manufacturers will speed up the lies necessary to reassure people to keep buying their products. They will rename ingredients, rename the brands, but it will still be the same poison. No sense in that, so we really do need to give RFK Jr more time.
If there was a nationwide boycott of Cheerios (for example) and sales cratered, that would send a strong message to major food manufacturers to cut out the Glyphosate.
Already done for me and mine. Cheerios had to go along with anything GMO or with bioengineered products. But it is in everything, so I guess we continue to be as careful as possible.
Also, I am on board with Thomas Massie's bill, no company should be immune to lawsuits!

I seem to remember the old adage of "Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater", a German proverb in Thomas Murner's 1512 book "Appeal to Fools. It warned against discarding valuable elements while trying to eliminate undesirable ones. The mess we are in didn't happen overnight, nor will it be corrected overnight.
I'm still waiting to see the outcome and how this will move forward. I'm very unhappy about this protection of glyphosate. Secretary Kennedy can't buck Trump too hard without losing the ability to help us elsewhere, but I'll bet he's working on someway to help us. But why give it protected status? This I don't get yet, unless it really is about Trump protecting Bayer and Monsanto 🤬
I too, don't understand the protected status, however, gutting an industry that is a significant part of the country's economy, both on the national and international stages would devastate the livelihoods of many. This global mindset is gargantuan and will not turn on a dime, just as was seen in 'The Covid'.
What's likely next on the E.O. list in the name of national security?
Bring back?:
Arsenic
DDT
Mercury
Lead
Agent Orange
Thalidomide (was a widely used drug in the late 1950s and early 1960s for the treatment of nausea in pregnant women. We're all going to need it soon as treatment of nausea due to the current E.O's in the name of national security & defence).
The "bio-defence" industry must be salivating (like Pavlov's dog) at the possibilities..................and profits.
I good with some controlled spraying. I don't like them spraying as a drying agent right before harvest, and I recently found out tons of this stuff is sprayed on Canadian forests and no one talks about it.
If you've tried growing things, you realize pests can be problematic and farmers don't have the luxury of time and labor intensive options when you have to feed 8 billion people as cheaply as possible. Also, who doesn't pick out the fruits and vegetables that look perfect over those that are full of insect holes?
I wish there were realistic options that work on a mass scale but I see the other side as well.
Well, I for one I'm doing everything I can not to support any GMO Foods any more than I can not help. I have a hydroponic tower garden for veggies, but I don't understand how poison will help our economy. There have got to be better ways to kill weeds and glyphosate
I too, an independent and completely objective source, pronounce Jenna's Side as the finest (and funniest) substack ever produced. Exhibit A: you explaining what's going on in a way nobody else has. In the 1990's I was homeschooling my kids and serving as a tutor in Classical Conversations, where high school kids meet weekly to discuss their lessons and also literally learn how to debate. Someone alerted me to GMO dangers (read Seeds of Deception by Jeffrey Smith) and so we debated GMO's. It was obviously going to be such a disaster even back then. But farmers are dependent on roundup ready crops now. We can't Sri Lanka the country. However, DESSICATING wheat to make it more profitable has not been going on that long. Can RFK or EPA ban that practice? That is what is really poisoning us fast and we can't escape it, even organic bread has residues. Meanwhile, we need to push for a return to regenerative agriculture. I believe that is happening at the Ag Dept, in a very small way.
Exactly. Methinks that part of the supply-side problem could be solved by stopping the spraying on full-grown food like wheat, thereby having the side-effect of healthier wheat…for as much as wheat can be healthy given how much we now know about THAT issue.
Soy beans are also subject to dessication via glyphosate. It gets the plants of varied varieties to the same level of moisture so harvest can proceed with less interruption.
I belong to a farm csa shares and they do regenerative farming! Only 7 months of the year where I live but i help local farmers, even though I know we are not politically aligned.
Reading all the comments is as interesting as the article Jenna. It seems that a huge portion of readers don’t understand that you can dislike something, be it a person or a substance, and still understand that it has properties that are useful.
Life isn’t black or white, but interesting shades of gray. Learn to weigh ideas, statistics, stances and people.
The predictable head explosions should be avoided. Think, reason, and draw conclusions. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned in the last twelve months, it’s wait and see where our President is going, because there is always more to come, no matter what the subject is!
Er..poisoning people, animals, plants and soils waters of the earth with a pesticide derived from Nazi born chemical weapons ain't really grey..it is deeply black in fact. Sorry, not buying it..your argument..or glyphosate soaked food 🤓
Thanks. You just proved my point. And yeah, I agree that it needs to be gotten out of our food and soil. But again, think, reason and understand why we need to do this the right way.
I did not prove your point at all. Classic ends justifies the means fallacy you are pushing here. There are literally dozens of different solutions to saturating crops with pesticide...and most of them have been available to this day, with exception of some developing tech. Decentralized indoor growing in abandoned malls & commercial real estate, shipping containers & retired semi-truck trailers for example...could be rapidly scaled across the U.S....no glyphosate required...not a drop. That's just one thing that billions of dollars of wasted fascist government / corporate pork $ could be used for to create jobs & rapidly increase clean food production. I call out evil where there is evil..it really is that simple. But you can do your mental gymnist routine while real solutions exist.
Yeah, you really did. You just can’t admit it. I’m not justifying anything other than trying to figure out how to get a permanent solution that works without creating more problems. You’re damn the torpedoes full speed ahead.
Nah, calling it out. Bullshit excuses for not taking right action now. Solutions right in front of us ignored in favor of evil..more of the same crap. Sorry, we aren't going to agree because right action TRUMPS evil every time, period. Pun intended. Government doesn't solve problems they create...you would think this would be obvious at this end stage of American empire collapse...but apparently not it seems. So, the hard way it shall be.
An estimated 35million vaxxed are dead. Millions of Americans are sick and dying or permanently vaxxine damaged for life.
Funeral Directors are ordering 30% more Infant-Child size coffins, up from the 20% increase last year.
Millions of vaxxed are dead.
So why is Donald Trump STILL LYING to the American people and telling them there is a deadly virus and that the genocidal OWS vaxxines are safe and to take them???
We are collectively reaping the collective karma of passively spending far more on our military industrial complex (and endless wars) than we do on our most precious regenerative family farms.
I don’t think the Military Industrial Complex is in any way related to the denigration of regenerative family farms except that both are connected to politicians who have too much power and are the worst people to allow to be in charge. The family farms are being suppressed by Big Ag who have contributed to our health problems in a gigantic way. The Founders had the right idea when the kept the government small and limited. They well knew that politicians and bureaucrats were never trustworthy.
It's all related. Monsanto manufactured Agent Orange which as we all know was used to kill and poision the Vietnamese population along with our own soldiers. They also manufacture Roundup which has been and continues to be used to kill and poison the US population and more.
The military industrial complex is literally behind everything, which is why "national security and defense" is used ostensibly as a justification for all things evil. The apex of the military industrial complex is the CIA, which is part of the Five Eyes, which is a tool that used by the global elite to continue the mass psychological operations that keep us all in confusion and fear so that they can continue pushing their totalitarian agendas.
Everything is Interconnected. The politicians are all bought and paid for and big corporations where you have all the same people sitting on interlocking directorates. It's one big club and we ain't in it folks and that's why I'm here to continue planting the seeds.
There is a consequence for voting for the politicians who have every year been passing budget bills that generously fund Big Ag and the Military Industrial Complex along with laws that make regenerative family farming more challenging.
And the problem with that is under our current party system it is these same politicians who choose who our next choices will be for politicians to succeed them. Given only bad choices to choose from is a real problem.
But my question is How? If the parties will only finance their choices, how does anyone else run for office? It’s got to be in campaign financing that the solution lies. I’m just not sure how.
We need a leader and a unified movement to get rid of the uniparty that gains >50% voter strength, similar to how the MAHA movement has done. Since >51% of voters no longer feel that either party in Congress represents them, if we had a leader backed by all of those voters, we would have no trouble electing 3rd party candidates who actually want to representing the interests of the voters instead of the corporations.
Bayer became the evil demon it is thanks to the military industrial complex buying agent orange. Now Bayer believes it's owed all the protection and money it desires from the US government. If someone could figure out how to cut Bayer off at the knees, maybe we'd have a chance at civilization surviving.
If people wouldn’t buy those products, that corp.would change or go out of business. IF we could interest ‘hoomans’ in reading product labels not purchasing what ails and diseases them, many corps.would change or fail.
True dat! Yet if enough people refused to buy those disease/killer products the corp. would not manufacture them. Their investors will be sure of that.
Unfortunately their salesmen have gotten the farmers convinced this is the only way they can survive. They literally think people will starve without this poison.
Yes they did... they then supplied our government with agent orange. Their people infiltrated the US under the Monsanto name. When that name became too ugly for Americans to tolerate, Bayer took over for Monsanto and kept right on poisoning people. I wouldn't think it's a stretch that they supplied the secret poison used to take Maduro down. Considering that, this is a national security issue that our government will guard and protect. We the taxpayers are paying for this... it really doesn't matter what individual people do in regards to buying Bayer products or not.
Food has been weaponized against the people. Farmers are under assault..this is 5th gen warefare..
The Founders had the wrong idea..keeping government small and limited never works and never will work because it is based on nothing other than coercion, violence and fraud. Countries / government end in failure 100% of the time, for these very reasons. Not saying some of the Founders didn't have some positive intention, but we know the road to hell is well paved. And here are trying to douse the inferno once again. 😅
And to add to that wisdom, we have no “business” trying to feed 8 billion people when our own population is only 330million. Hubris bred this problem and it might take some humility to solve it.
True, the US produces more than we can consume but there are many countries who cannot feed the population they have so are dependent upon the surplus produced in the US.
If farmers are incentivized to not plant/produce, the result is more of our food is dependent on government control.
This should be a huge wake up call to everyone that has any doubts that Trump represents big business and big government, but instead, we have the usual mental gymnastics and 6D chess justifications to continue support for this corporate created muppet.
Do you all remember what else was declared a threat to national security? Do you remember what we all had to endure six years ago in the name of national security and defense that brought us all together? (Don't you dare try to credit Trump for bringing us all together 🤣)
It doesn't have to be this extreme where we protect the poisons and shield them from liability or starve to death, but you know what is the opposite of the right direction? Shielding big agriculture from liability similar to how big pharma is shielded from vaccines liability. It's literally the same playbook.
It's not hard to go back to regenerative farming methods where we re-focus on the health of the soil and the land instead of profits for big business. Smart people who woke up to this beast system decades ago have been shouting solutions from the rooftops and still are. Decentralize the entire system with local communities, build parallel systems, and stop supporting the current system that is slowly destroying us from within.
Meanwhile, the criminal pedophile class continues to rule us without any accountability and here we are being thrown another distraction to divide us all even more. 🙄
You mistake "rage" for actual care to solve problems by not doing the same unconscionable thing over and over and then doubling down on it. But you do you. 😆
I’m still trying to trust the process that RFK Jr. is doing for the MAHA agenda. It does take a lot of time to effect change in our agricultural practices. I try not to buy products that are known to be glyphosate heavy. I’ve found a few companies that sell certified glyphosate free products like oatmeal, and when I bake my own bread, I use flour from Italy or France.
I havd started baking bread at home as well. Any suggestions on flour brands? I figured even if they have glysophate, they might not have all the other crap, the stuff that makes them not mold or rot, but id like to look into glysophate free as well. Having trouble finding out which are any good or actually free of it.
Costco organic brand tests relatively clean for heavy metals too, and it’s not going to cost you both your legs. If you want to spend a lot, Jovial einkorn tests clean for a lot of toxins as well.
It’s my understanding that Italy and France do not use glyphosate. I know someone who imports flour from Italy and they sell it and make pasta with it. We have a French bakery in town who imports their flour from France.
I read somewhere that elements of glyphosate like phosphates and a couple others I can’t recall, are imperative for building weapons and vital things we need. It sounded like we needed to keep glyphosate so we could maintain the ability to thrive elsewhere— and weed killing took a back seat. Wish I could recall where I read it.
Jeff was surprisingly under educated on glyphosate, it appeared from that post. He still sprays it himself and sounded as though he’d never known how far reaching it is (food, air, water, soil). Disappointed.
According to Grok. Phosphorus is also used to manufacture fertilizer and military weapons. Not just Round-up. There is only one phosphorus mining operation in the US, located in Florida. Globally, China is the top producer of phosphorus.
I think RFK Jr's explanation of this in X yesterday (https://x.com/SecKennedy/status/2025760500793909389) is helpful to understand the predicament we're in if we suddenly ban glyphosate. He recognizes that glyphosate is bad, but stopping its use suddenly would mean food shortages. We need to stop glyphosate in a controlled manner in order to get healthier while still feeding the population. I don't like it and I need to eat only organic now because of glyphosate, but I see the problem and understand the mess we're in.
Exactly, starvation isn't a responsible alternative. People really don't grasp how precarious the food situation has become in our country. Farms can't change process and equipement overnight and China could literally hold our food supply hostage. I am carefull what food I buy and I buy very few processed foods including no enriched foods but this could halt all grain and corn farming to a stand still including putting hundreds of thousands of people out of work in the food processing industry as well as farming. A transition period is essential to avoid famine and poverty.
There is an alternative to poisons without a total collapse of our food system (if you call it food). True you can eat organic and avoid much of this. Perhaps that is RFK Jrs take on it, but I am not giving him a free ride on endorsing the EO.
There is a paradigm shift in farming. Call it Roomba for farmers. It started with the farmbot. A unit that would plant seeds, spot water them and weed automatically. Meant for the home garden, it was the first of its kind. Now there are many competitors on a commercial level. Carbon Robotics for example is a pull behind the tractor model of laser weeders.
Consider that with a farmbot type unit, an entire village can be fed by simply filling the hopper with seeds and using sunlight to power the unit until crops are ready for harvest. We are not too far from a similar unit being able to harvest the crops as well and possibly kill aphids or worms that it sees. No chemicals required. No human labor required. No big AG or Chemical required.
Not really accurate. Corn harvesters have been around for decades but they waste alot of corn because they can't tell, like a human can when each corn is ripe. They just mow through the field and take it all down. Alot of other crops llike corn are harvested over time as it is not all ripe at the same time. Small farms serving local areas and household self sustaining gardens are the answer and people buying from these farms and growing these gardens are the solution.
It is a new paradigm and testing for sugar value (invasive or not) is a new possibility for each ear of corn. Whatever a human can do in that respect can be automated.
Have you ever programmed electronics equipment? I can make electronics and software that can do just about anything I can dream up.
That is why the new paradigm will be able to do anything humans already do, but with any sensors that give instant readings so what used to be a difficult decision is now fast and easy.
I have worked on an assembly line with automation. The amount of time we spent wrangling robots was considerable. A corn field is not flat even terrain, the rows are quite narrow and the corn ripens at different speeds along different heights. I don't see robots picking corn effectively any time soon.
So. In an obvious take off Jeff Childers (of the Coffee and Covid Substack), “Let the man work!” (In reference to both DJT and our esteemed Secretary.) Nobody said there wasn’t gonna be bumps in the road. And, how coincidental is it that just this last weekend I read a Substack about how DDT was injudiciously maligned - that yes it killed the malaria-bearing mosquitos but also was NOT as deadly to crops… and now I can’t find that reference. But maybe that will also factor in as some kind of alternative or new combo of crop enhancing bioengineering. Or whatever. Just my take, and yes, I also Marched Against Monsanto lo those many years ago… ☺️
Let the man work...the exact same man who promoted and initiated OWS which by the way turned out to be another massive poisoning event like the use of glyphosate. For the sake of "national security" we have the right to poison your food supply using toxic chemicals.
Yes, makes sense. Pivot and go at this issue differently. How about subsidizing farmers to go regenerative farming? Make the incentive (bribe) large enough to gain attention. Educate and awaken them to the future. It takes about 3 years to transition. And pull the subsidies for farmers (corporations) who don’t make the transition. This pulls the rug out from Bayer.
Mao Zedong banned sparrows and had them killed. 50 million people starved to death. I guess we should be careful at times what we wish for and complain isn’t happening fast enough. However, most vaccines should go away tomorrow.
Good news is that there is now widespread Glyphosate awareness and a war is raging. In the meantime we need to minimize our intake of Glyphosate. And through E.O., the country is saved (again) via the:
Defense Production Act (DPA)
Next week they'll come out with the new DPA food pyramid:
At the very top of the triangle will be genetically engineered "Round-up tolerant"
Twinkies
Corn, soy, wheat
Doritos
Cotton (my blouse smells so "fresh")
Froot Loops
Coco Puffs
All with national security approved 46 year product dating (apocalypse proof).

I thought that was universally acknowledged at this point.
PS That 8 year old appears to be 15. 😂
Yes, Jenna has delivered brilliant and entertaining coverage of an extremely important topic.
How come I can only like the comment when it made me laugh 😃.

Keep talking... someday the right person will finally hear you!
If you haven't figured it out by now, you are not going too.
No Hugh, they haven't figured it out.
Thank God for those who have eyes to see, like Vee❣️
One wonders, what do members of this club eat ?
Apparently human flesh based on the latest Epstein drop. Reality is much stronger than fiction.
Yes, and a problem the voters need to solve.
Individual people cannot impact Bayer at all. They own big agriculture and government. They don't care about Individual people at all.
True dat! Yet if enough people refused to buy those disease/killer products the corp. would not manufacture them. Their investors will be sure of that.
Unfortunately their salesmen have gotten the farmers convinced this is the only way they can survive. They literally think people will starve without this poison.
Didn't Bayer build the gas chambers for the Nazi's?
Yeah I don't buy anything of theirs.
Beautifully said, Someone Else!
Spot on, thank you for saving me the typing. Amazing to watch Jenna tap dancing alongaide the horror giving tRUMP a possible pass.
I think it's fair and legitimate to try to understand something rather than just rage, but you do you. ;)
BTW, regardless, it was a well written piece which I appreciate even though you still defend the Trumpster-fire cautiously.
You mistake "rage" for actual care to solve problems by not doing the same unconscionable thing over and over and then doubling down on it. But you do you. 😆
Spot. On.
(To Jenna's statement, not the outrage whining, to be clear).
Keith, you apparently mistake moral principle for outrage whining...how unfortunate.
Appeals to "national security" and "public health" are all-purpose tools for justifying unlimited power and shutting up the opposition.
Sunriseflourmill.com is a good company. Also backroadsgranola.com has glyphosate free oatmeal.
Ouch those prices! Crazy we have to pay more to get fewer ingredients (ingredients such as glyphosate)
Yes, I knew about Sunrise but holy crap the prices!
Does the flour from Italy and France test to be glyphosate free? Is it available locally or only online?
It’s my understanding that Italy and France do not use glyphosate. I know someone who imports flour from Italy and they sell it and make pasta with it. We have a French bakery in town who imports their flour from France.
I read somewhere that elements of glyphosate like phosphates and a couple others I can’t recall, are imperative for building weapons and vital things we need. It sounded like we needed to keep glyphosate so we could maintain the ability to thrive elsewhere— and weed killing took a back seat. Wish I could recall where I read it.
Jeff Childers, Coffee and Covid. He explained it.
https://open.substack.com/pub/coffeeandcovid/p/rounded-up-thursday-february-19-2026?r=poj5c&utm_medium=ios
I should’ve guessed!! Of course it was C&C!
That’s what I get for
commenting prior to
having coffee.
I get ya! lol
I guess one upside to reduced food production is the resultant enforced weight loss which would then remove the need for Wegovy-type meds. Yes?
Not really. High fructose corn syrup is still everywhere. They will just fill up on more soda pop.
Carbon Robotics for example is a pull behind the tractor model of laser weeders.
https://carbonrobotics.com/
There are others that are fully automated.
Haha 😁 amazing! Still not sure about Skynet doing everything for us including weeding our crops! 🤣
The paradigm shift is that we don't need big AG. It can be done automatically village by village all being independent from each other.
You have obviously never harvested corn.
In my yard. Yes.
