AMEN to that, yes!

I don’t see the point for these glasses to exist. It’s crazy, disturbing, and totally unnecessary.

David Nelson's avatar

One positive I can foresee is their use in documenting corruption: EVERYONE who visits a government office should be sporting a pair, and pointing them EVERYWHERE.

The establishment will recognize the danger after a while of course and ban them, but hopefully something will be in the Congressional record.

On that score, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE "catch" your Congressmen, wearing your glasses, in their "down times," and Post The Results on Social Media. Perhaps, We the Mere People can piggy-back onto the privacy they vote for themselves through the courts.

Curtis's avatar

They'll simply outlaw their use to expose corruption or crime, like CA with the Stop Nick Shirley law...

David Nelson's avatar

True that, but they will have unwittingly been provoked into leaving a record for archaeologists who will later be asking each other, "Can you believe these arrogant b*st*rds?! It's no WONDER they were all staked to ant hills in the desert..."

Jewell's avatar

I remember in those movies long ago where the Indians stake a white man next to an ant hill. Can we do that with our politicians? They so deserve it.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

That almost makes an argument I can live with. But I'm still gonna say "NO".

KC & the Sunshine's avatar

Think of how J6ers would automatically have a “stay out of jail—free” card if they had had these glasses on.

Nonetheless, NOT worth the utter lack of privacy.

Zuckerberg is twisted.

David Nelson's avatar

re: "PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE..." use them?

Nah. BAD idea. I looked into the specs. I was thinking about possibly wearing these as a White Knight who just sallies forth "recording stuff"--LOCALLY--JUST onto the glasses (3 min. max length per video acc. to specs and with a 4-hour max. battery life between charges) for the sake of completely ignoring, and recording over, most of it.

AND, the thinking went, "What If" one lone Ray-Ban-ned hero ~could~ capture an injustice and send in the video to Right an otherwise unrightable Wrong? <one of those long heraldic trumpets tooting>: "dah! dah-dah-dah! dah! DAH!"

But, THIS is not the tool for THAT kind of altruist's mission. The description (at BestBuy.com, which indicates these have been around since at least 2023 btw) says the "glasses are WiFi but have their own 'network.' You connect to glasses from [a smart]phone and have a Meta app that your glasses import pictures to."

As Jenna alludes, _Meta_ sucks the glasses' "input" into their Zuckerberg's Vast Maw--via their handy "app"--longgg before the "user" even sees it. Even white knights, probably especially white knights, are "Mapping for Mark."

Stay far away. OTOH... if they could be HACKED by white-hat hackers... please do.

Penelope Bullis's avatar

Doesn't the blob have ability to edit stuff , make deep fakes etc . Plant pedo crimes on someone's device in order to take someone down ?

David Nelson's avatar

Penelope, I assume so, but that's a horse of a different color.

John Wright's avatar

But, but, but, think of the upside! You never have to be embarrassed by not being able to remember your friend's name when you encounter them on the street.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

That’s actually the big benefit they routinely trot out!🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ how about write it on the inside of your wrist for crying out loud.

John Wright's avatar

Or just use the usual "So nice to see you again" (completely ignoring that you can't remember what their name is).

David Nelson's avatar

...like "they" remember mine...

John Wright's avatar

It actually freaks me out that everyone seems to know who I am and yet I know almost none of their names!

Jewell's avatar

I usually remember their names either later that night, maybe days later or it could be weeks later. Still good.

Tonee norman's avatar

The most embarrassing time “name remembering “ happens to me is in social situations where I am in charge of introducing a group of people and I totally blank ( in that stressful moment) on the name of a friend IV’E KNOWN FOR DECADES! I guess it’s the stress of remembering everyone’s names is what does it…I really have to do some fancy word salad to get through THAT moment..

Other than that,I don’t mind admitting to casual friends/ acquaintances that “ I will always remember your face, but, names often slip my mind “.

I will never get those glasses.

Laura Cornwell's avatar

I find in the case of a larger group I’m better off just saying “Let’s all introduce ourselves”. Gets me off the hook. The older I get, the harder it is.

Tonee norman's avatar

Great idea! Though, the last time it actually happened ( a few years ago) it was only a party of 4…Sigh…🤷🏻‍♀️

Jewell's avatar

As Jenna suggested, write it on your sleeve. If you know you have to do intros, you take some 3x5 cards and write everyone's name down.

ELKFLA's avatar

<snort> That's the first thing I thought of too. I can never remember people's names.

John Wright's avatar

Seriously! It's an actual usage that I'd consider them for!

What is concerning is the claims that it pulls up far more intrusive information like where they live, how old they are, what their current net worth is.... etc, etc.

ELKFLA's avatar

There is that.

CynthiaS's avatar

I actually contemplated buying a pair because I thought it would work great for making my art YouTube videos… I use a top down ring light with a iPhone holder built in - it’s hard to see what I’m doing while I’m making videos. BUT I had not thought about the surveillance aspect! I don’t have a criminal mind 😇

John Wright's avatar

Like most tools... it's all in how you use them. You can use a hammer to build a house or you can use it to murder someone. So sure, buy and use these glasses in private all you want!

TriTorch's avatar

Just to give an idea of who and what we are dealing with here:

While you stare into your smartphone, Your smartphone stares into you

-The Google Play store logo is the sigil if lucifer

-The Apple logo is the bitten forbidden fruit; one of the first Apple computers sold for $666.66

-The facebook logo is freemasonry's tubal cain

-The gmail logo is freemasonry's apron

-The google chrome logo is 666

-The Monster drink logo is 666 in Hebrew numbers

-'Meta' means 'dead' in Hebrew

-Government: 'govern' = control, 'ment' = mind

-Barcodes have '666' embedded in them: "Technically, from a computer's perspective the number "666" is NOT in the UPC barcode. . . but from a human's perspective — YES, the "appearance" of 666 is there!"

Wish it weren’t so dark out there, but alas burying our collective heada in the sand, has unfortunately enabled these bottom feeding wretched gouls to gain the stranglehold over the world they have. The first step to solving any problem is awareness, and the second is facing it.

I hear it helps not to flinch while doing so 👍

nancylee's avatar

amplify far and wide. first look deeply at what's actually happening. second do something about it.

Tonee norman's avatar

I agree,Jenna. Difficult to “like”, but, impossible to ignore, once seen and understood..But,I believe the power of Prayer, and looking that evil straight in the eye saying “I DO NOT CONSENT “ gives us a certain degree of assistance in blocking those “spells” against us.🙏

Jpeach's avatar

Meta will make dramatically more profit from selling the info stolen from unwitting victims (that would be us), than they will from the sale of the glasses.

TriTorch's avatar

JPeach, it’s only about profit in-so-far as:

Currency is meaningless to them becauze they control the printing presses and can print as much as they want in any quantity they desire. What matters is that we first work (expend energy) for these items and then use them to harm ourselves and society:

This transfer of our energy and $ for things that both harm and are intended to harm us and others, greatly empowers these vampires. It is one thing for them to inflict pain on us but to doing so means very little to them. What strengthens them is when we work hard to earn $ in order to buy harmful things and then use those items to inflict their harm upon ourselves. This acts as an assertive investment in our own destruction, and the return on that investment is depicted by us in chains. As the life is siphoned out of us we weaken in mind, body, & spirit while the they absorb this vitality and grow stronger.

Graphite's avatar

So imagine the opposite... when we give to God and for the glory of His name and His kingdom!

Malachi 3:10 (ESV) 10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.

Jpeach's avatar

You are 1000% correct. Meta & Company weaponizes info technology against humanity.

Graphite's avatar

But fear not...

1 John 4:4-6 (ESV) 4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5 They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

Amen - Praise the name of Jesus 🙏

Heather B's avatar

Don't they have laws against recording without consent? They are always getting on James O'Keefe for doing this and he's trying to catch bad guys. And David Daleidon went to jail for recording Planned Parenthood execs. Or is it only if a bad guy gets caught? Wow.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

That’s literally the problem! How do you enforce this? The technology should never have been approved for consumer use in the first place!

Laura Kasner's avatar

I have visions of the future where we see people ripping these glasses off peoples faces and stomping on them.

Actually I see myself doing it.

🌱Nard🙏's avatar

I’ll be your wingman. Or accomplice. Or both.

Tim Pallies's avatar

I'd watch some of THOSE videos!

Tim Connolly's avatar

Laura I just posted the same reaction and scrolled down and read yours.

Laura Kasner's avatar

🥰👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

MaryAnn's avatar

There is a Fb poster guy who patronizes new or struggling restaurants (in TX, I think) to give pub to these places to boost their business. The videos show him ordering, eating (with sound), and interacting with the proprietors/staff. These videos are all done with those glasses. One video in particular, the woman (older Asian) proprietor asked if he wanted a photo with her. He told her he already had all he needed from his glasses. She was clearly startled and obviously did not know he was filming his entire visit to the establishment.

He means well but I think he should have asked permission. 😳

Laura Kasner's avatar

Agree! He should have asked permission.

John Wright's avatar

This is something I would expect will be occurring "soon". Beware of walking around in public wearing glasses that look like they might have a camera in them. No doubt we will have a lot of innocent victims of this.

SHug's avatar

Yes, and there are already a HUGE number of videos showing how to deactivate the camera light.

John Wright's avatar

We need common sense to return to humanity. All this conflict is displaying the worst in humanity.

nancylee's avatar

yep. but I think if you say wow how cool, can i look into that? then when they hand it to you, stomp on it

nancylee's avatar

lolol you've inadvertently touched on the problem. approved for consumer? how about not approved for anyone? but the dark forces have been spying on us for so long that this was inevitable while they dangle shopping malls, celebs, and titillation to distract.

John Wright's avatar

The basic law is that if you are in public (aka outside of your home) then you do not have an expectation of privacy. So, yes, we need to revamp our privacy laws.

nancylee's avatar

hahahaha well you damn sure dont have expectation inside your home

John Wright's avatar

There are a lot of "grey areas" though!

Although I've never done "street photography" as a photographer I'm glad that if I point my camera at a squirrel and snap a cute shot, I'm not going to get sued by some lunatic that is freaking out about privacy. (in other words, it is 100% legal to walk down the street taking photos of strangers)

🌱Nard🙏's avatar

“Here is what NameTag does, or will do, the moment someone flips the switch: it scans faces through the glasses’ cameras, converts them into biometric data, and matches them against a database of stored faceprints. In plain English: a complete stranger at the grocery store, your gym, the park, or your kid’s swim meet can look at you through a pair of sunglasses and within seconds know more about you than your neighbors do—without your knowledge, without your consent, and with absolutely nothing you can do about it. Oh, and they can record the moment for posterity. “

Time to get me some Groucho Marks glasses to trick the Meta Glasses🤦‍♀️. What a world. I will definitely know my people when they all start looking like Groucho.

This really is terrifying.

Society wore silly masks--that were USELESS--that made It look silly. ...and GOT COMPLETELY ACCUSTOMED TO IT!

THIS TIME, wear silly glasses--INTENTIONALLY--IN PROTEST--to show that We Know the megalomaniacs are running us through a Marx Brothers movie.

[Incidentally _I_ did wear a mask in public; namely, the Double-Incognito from FakeMasksUSA.com which featured a double-layer of black gauze. Eminently breathable, even as I was waved into all "guarded" locations. However, I'm prouder of the people who went face-bare into the same places...]

David Nelson's avatar

Actually, before I found FakeMasksUSA.com, I wore a white mask on which I'd scrawled "Methinks I smelleth Communists."

Lori's avatar

or maybe that is what masks should be used for, to camouflage us, lol!

Tim Pallies's avatar

I'll go out on a limb here and predict that the salon which apparently is unconcerned about the glasses being present on staff will suddenly FIND a problem when bookings fall off a cliff. (Yes, I'm compulsive enough that I often click the links Jenna provides.)

David Nelson's avatar

Given [AI-fetched] that "Meta's market capitalization ≈ $1.49 trillion USD (as of June 9, 2026). --CNBC.", another caption for the "Laughers in the Board Room" would be: "They ordered us to pay a $650M fine, and I said, 'Ow! Ouchy! Owweeee, that HUR-URTS so BADDDD!'"

$650M = $0.00065 trillion.

Chump change.

Without the fine, their company would have been valued at $1.49✌️065✌️ trillion.

John Wright's avatar

Exactly. Until settlements / fines stop being "chump change" companies will never have an incentive to behave.

We're so screwed. Just a friendly reminder that Facebook is basically a creation by the Central Intelligence Agency by way of their VC arm known as IN-Q-TEL. I promptly deleted my Facebook account back in college when I found this out and that was back in the day when Facebook was only allowed for college student. Do you all remember that?

Anyways, the borg has all of our information because we give it all of our information. Your AI digital twin exists somewhere in one of these datacenters and the more you feed the beast your information, the more accurate your AI twin will be. Deleting all of your social media accounts would be a great start but will people really give that up?

These surveillance glasses are basically just Ring and Flock on steroids. Is anyone surprised? This is a natural extension of the convenience society that we live in and it's also another foot in the door to this creepy posthuman world where people openly look forward to merging with technology. It always starts off as something that benefits people and it doesn't take long for the masses to jump on board the convenience and oooo so shiny train. I can't believe it's happened this fast but it's happening folks! People are merging with technology and it won't be long until people are installing all sorts of nano sized technology into their bodies to enhance themselves. It sounds far-fetched, I know, but it's already here. By the way, have you all heard about The Enhanced Games? I had no idea this was a thing until James Corbett reported on it. It's worth a watch! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qfGzWV2-kbI

GregWA's avatar

I answered "we're so screwed" to the poll...but I actually think there's hope.

It won't take too many cases of perverts, or worse, using these glasses and making a big splash in "the news" (social media) for there to be a huge backlash.

I suspect the reaction will be different in different cultural pockets: in decent circles the banning will be full on; in "Idiocracy" circles, it will be celebrated.

One suggestion: if you see someone looking your way, wearing these, go over to them and SCREAM at them to stop recording you! You know, react like a Lib!

Maybe we can make it a "teaching moment" for the Idiocracy people?

Tim Pallies's avatar

And a Rayban boycott wouldn't hurt.

GregWA's avatar

Shaming and sarcasm on top of the RayBAN! Spencer Pratt like videos of pervs wearing RayBANs would be a good start.

Just one really well done AI video of some drooling pervs wearing RayBANs might be enough for RayBAN to pull out...if it goes viral enough and fast enough.

Gotta figure out how to do it without getting sued by RayBAN. Is it enough to change one letter? RaysBAN? RaBAN? RayBanaDanaDingDong?

Zuckerberg has bragged that Facebook can adjust peoples moods just like you can adjust the volume on a radio. It is a social control experiment and I've always stayed away. People who are awake should make a point to not use facebook and encourage friends and family to use secure email to stay in touch.

These glasses potentially provide pedophiles a great tool for picking out victims, you can find out instantly who comes from a broken home and doesn't have responsible adults involved in their lives.
