I respectfully point out that you are also already teaching him that 'free' trumps 'better', that he doesn't have to appreciate lunches his mom makes for him, and that you are okay with him making decisions for himself at 6. You are always home-schooling him.
Home-schooling is best because it eliminates the "education" provided by peer pressure outside the classroom. If you don't home-school, and I do get it, you absolutely must spend time undoing aspects of the education he is receiving.
