You are very clever and so was your mom! It's kinda strange that we need graphs and numbers to prove something we already know. One could argue, "the numbers" got us into this mess.
My opinion is it does matter when brave people are in the position to do the right thing AND do it. It sets an example of how to behave to make the world a better place. It offers hope, which we desperately need!
