Oh my goodness I needed that laugh. I too have spent most of my life indifferent to the royal family, other than occasionally in a moment of weakness or boredom or staying up too late and allowing youtube to hypnotically lead me down some dark hole (with me barely squeaking out “why are you taking me here??). But, yes! I fell (ok, maybe I jumped) into the “where’s Kate” hole!! And so did some of my friends! It’s like we all got to close to the edge of an eroding cliff and one by one we’re dropping. I will happily send this off to them for their much needed laugh this morning. (My own thought process was: what kind of abdominal surgeries take a significant time to recovery from physically and/or emotionally? My friend said, hysterectomy. Sleuthing results: K had severe hyperemesis gravidarum with all 3 pregnancies. One cause of HG is gestational trophoblastic disease (tumors in the uterus, often not cancerous). One treatment is removal of uterus and sometimes more. To me, that would require a lengthy recovery physically, plus as a fellow woman, I’d say there would be some emotional/psychological issues to process as well. Certainly wouldn’t want that to be over analyzied/discussed etc in the public forum until I was good and ready. So that’s my best guess. But I admit I experienced that bangs issue when I was 15. Had to wet them and weight them down with bobby pins for a month while I slept…..

Yah, well, I can’t disagree…life is getting sad when one finds oneself oscillating between “it was a hysterectomy” and “she’s been cloned”. Your observation - “look what the last four years have done to us” — was sad, true and sobering. It reminded me of a recent conversation with my down to earth, rooted in logic big brother (dubbed Mr. Science by his kids); he seriously said “I’m starting to think that we really are living in a simulation”.
I like to think that Kate is one of the few women in the entire royal village who would not put up with her prince husband cheating and took some time off to think about divorcing him. They are now "uterine tubes".
