Big Pharma has found another way to keep humans chronically ill and make billions.

Patrick Skailes's avatar

I just read that with obesity continuing to climb and that Ozempic is used chronically that "big pharma" could make trillions. Kinda puts the "vaxx" shots profits to shame.

What we do know is that big pharma is MASSIVELY corrupt and has been fined billions of dollars over the years for what can only be referred to as crimes against humanity.

HatariMama's avatar

Indeed. A friend just posted that he had to get off ozempic for a surgical procedure and he gained 16 lbs in 2 weeks. Imagine the addictions this stuff creates. You cannot get off of it. Scary stuff.

Stephanie Loomis's avatar

And yet we let them advertise on television

Edie Nichols's avatar

And everywhere else! Radio, XM, magazines, social media…… who started this? I’ll bet it’s a name tied to the AMA, which was founded by the Rockerfellers

Sarah Beth's avatar

$500 a month or around there - yikes!

David Nelson's avatar

I smell a "mind-set" in here... "I pay this-much-a-month for cable, and my car lease, and... NOW, my gym membership cancellation goes towards my 'body-maintenance drugs.'

Just Part of the Cost of Doing Second-Millennium American."

Andrea's avatar

I was eating marshmallows while reading this.

Liz T 🇦🇺's avatar

I’m so cynical now, I believe BP was behind the “body positivity” movement. You know, fatten ‘em up for what they knew was coming…

Tacitus's avatar

I’m not a fan of extremes but everyone in that category should decide for themselves which is healthier: ozempic or fatness.

Laura Kasner's avatar

Read what Dr. Yoho says about Ozempic:

“The drug works by paralyzing the stomach, preventing proper digestion. This mechanism causes severe gastrointestinal problems in many patients. Nearly 3,000 lawsuits have been consolidated in the Pennsylvania federal court alleging gastroparesis, intestinal blockages, and ileus. The FDA has updated Ozempic’s warning label multiple times since 2023—adding warnings for ileus in September 2023, severe gastrointestinal reactions in January 2025, and pulmonary aspiration during anesthesia in November 2024.“

https://robertyoho.substack.com/p/396-ozempics-depravaties-make-the

Please tell me that photo of Kelly Ripa is doctored. It’s horrifying.

Back when I used to watch the idiot box (what my mother called the TV) I always wondered if Kelly had an eating disorder. If she looked that skeletal on TV, how did she look in person???!!!

JudyC's avatar

Once again, Hollywood et al leading the way… what glorious role models they are! My own niece ended up in the hospital because of this drug and now that she’s recovered and off the stuff, has not just regained the weight, plus more, but continues to have gastrointestinal issues.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

That's so heartbreakingly wrong. :(

Laura Kasner's avatar

I’m so sorry Judy 😢

DemonFromWalmart's avatar

Why? It's not like these drugs somehow just appear in your medicine cabinet...

Marit Koopal's avatar

Its not her its her niece..

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

I just read the Yoho piece on Ozempic (kinda neat that it was published today) and there's a whole laundry list of side effects: loss of vision strikes me as one I would not want to acquire. I just don't get it; how do you manage to overlook some very serious side effects in order to look really ugly? About Kelly Ripa: didn't they used to say that tv made people look heavier than they really are? So if she looked thin on tv before Ozempic, she must look truly awful now.

Karen Bandy's avatar

Yes, the camera adds 10 pounds. Kelly doesn’t have 10 to spare!

Kayo's avatar

She looks tragic! Why would anyone do this to themselves?!

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

I was thinking she probably weighs less than 10 pounds.

Karen Bandy's avatar

What is it, could blow her over with a feather? Not sure it applies to skinny but you never know. 🤷‍♀️🤣

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

😂

Rebekah Daley's avatar

My very overweight mother in law was put on it by her doc and she’s gone blind in one eye and had to come off it.

🌱Nard🙏's avatar

I looked up the KR pic…she really is that skinny. But her face does NOT look like that. Either the shot was doctored or it’s really bad lighting. But her frame is, well, shocking.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

Oh there have been a few shocking photos of her--and some she posted HERSELF (so you know a) it's not some weird attack job and b) she obviously thinks she looks GOOD):

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1151392639184645/posts/1514332982890607/

Karen Bandy's avatar

Wow, concentration camp chic, never thought I’d see the day.

🥲

🌱Nard🙏's avatar

She looks sooooo bad…but her face in that photo is mortifying! I’m glad she doesn’t actually look like that. (The photo I found is here: https://media.gettyimages.com/id/2202926284/fr/photo/hollywood-california-kelly-ripa-attends-the-97th-annual-oscars-at-dolby-theatre-on-march-02.jpg?s=612x612&w=0&k=20&c=hQyJ9AzV_VPC0ZvolYAGjaBrqrlkQBZvvxkCjGAD2qw=)

But her legs are like twigs…and the rest of her? It’s like she’s disappeared. Heartbreaking. I wasn’t knocking on you…I promise ☺️.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

Oh, no offense taken! ;)

Frontera Lupita's avatar

OMG I just looked at that FB page. Wow she looks horrible. She looks sick and ill. I wonder of she’s layered Ozempic on over the C*V*D Jabs?

Sabrina LaBow's avatar

It's obvious she has anorexia. Maybe now it's ozempicrexia. Whatever the case, it's a mental disorder. Body dysmorphia. It's about control. It's obviously an extreme example as is Ariana Grande. Very disturbing.

Maneki Neko's avatar

I remember her Tide commercial. I laughed when she lifted the 64oz container and said, “it weighs more than she does”.

Beetroot Sandsoil's avatar

You aren't even linking to her own photos. Unless you can show they came from her account you can't prove they are real. Stop spreading fake photos.

Erin's avatar

there is a link to Getty photos which photographs all major events. That is her, the face is different above, but the body is massive muscle/thin. Look about 5-6 posts above and you'll find the link. It's legit.

Joni Lang's avatar

OMG! My Eyes! My Eyes! 🤮

Laura Cornwell's avatar

But I can’t imagine in whose mind that kind of stick thinness is attractive. Both KR and the wicked chick look like they are just this close to death. Don’t people remember the Twiggy years when so many young girls ended up in the hospital when they decided throwing up their lunch was a viable alternative? Instead of misery on steroids, now we have misery on Ozempic. It’s scary and so unnecessary. What does AI have to say about it? That could give us a clue.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

Does this mean we’re allowed to say “fat” now?

David Nelson's avatar

Mary Ann, yes, we may say "fat" now, in a nostalgic kind of way, as in "Ah, I remember when people used to be 'fat' (and not 'dead')."

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

😂 David, you crack me up.

Elizabeth's avatar

People in larger bodies have reclaimed the word fat as a neutral term. But if you are in a smaller body, it’s not really okay to call people fat unless they first refer to themselves in that way.

🌱Nard🙏's avatar

It’s terrible. Anorexics always think they look “fat.” Their brain chemistry gets all messed up. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what’s happening here…

Frankee's avatar

Laura AI will do for your brain what ozempic does for your body. Keep using your obvious non artificial intelligence 🙏

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

Those legs: “Death camp chic.”

Baga's avatar

I was diagnosed with gastroparesis 16 years ago. I’m not diabetic nor bulimic. Idiopathic. Doctors don’t know why. My digestion is super slow but fortunately I’m not as sick as most people with Gastroparesis. But occasionally the nausea and vomiting kick in with no warning. I would never take these drugs. This disorder is nothing to mess around with.

Laura Kasner's avatar

Baga - my heart goes out to you. 😢

Marsha's avatar

Much love to you for dealing with that for so long. People have no idea what they are gambling with. I am about a decade in with a bad pancreas, and need digestive enzymes to eat (every time, even a nibble). I can't even consider red meat or alcohol, ever. When things go wrong, I might have to ride out 10 days with no solid food, likely just water. Digestive health is not something to play around with just to be skinny. I wish people understood the actual risks.

NY Nanny's avatar

Laura- thanks so much for including Dr. Yoho's article!! I just read it the other day and wanted to mention it here. Good job.

Janet's avatar

Yes. I put a link up here on his post. I have several relatives on this stuff. Very scary, as I’m sure children are next in line. 😱😱😱

Warrior Mom's avatar

oh haven't you seen the 'activists' demanding that medicaid pay for obese kids to get these drugs? cuz their obesity is genetic, don't ya know. no amount of preventions will work! anything less would be 'racist'. (yes a lady being interviewed on corporate media, oh about 6-8 months ago, actually said that BS!!)

Michelle's avatar

Yes, it’s approved for 12 and up, so doctors are already recommending it to kids who still get dragged to “well-child” visits.

David Nelson's avatar

Laura, you wrote "the FDA has updated Ozempic’s warning label multiple times since 2023."

Another way of expressing this is "the FDA approved Ozempic in 2023 for its current use without anywhere near enough testing."

Laura Kasner's avatar

David - that was part of the verbiage from Yoho’s post.

But you are correct. Let’s just make another drug to fix the side effects from Ozempic. And on and on and……

Jamie's avatar

no they don’t paralyze the stomach. gastroparesis is a possible side effect. but i’d say this quote is incorrect. many people use these drugs without side effects or very minimal side effects. this guy’s an alarmist. i’m not saying GLPs are without concern but many people use them with only positive effects.

Tricia's avatar

A friend is on Ozympic for diabetes and had a hard time getting it because it became so “popular.” Was it the Kreepy Kardashians that started this stupidity? I vaguely remember something about them and this drug.

MH's avatar

"The idiot box" (what my dad called the tv 😂)

Invisigoth's avatar

Everything that you said is a lie. It’s not difficult to find out how it actually works but you’d rather believe some quack and look at AI doctored photo

Bradley Goodwin's avatar

From everything I've read the weight loss is a side effect of the drug whose primary purpose is to reduces blood sugar. While gastroparesis is a known complication, it is not the primary mechanism for weight loss; the mechanism for the weight loss is not entirely understood and only effects 85% of patients. It is believed that it blocks the dopamine pleasure receptor(s) associated with eating, so consuming food is no longer pleasurable.

Nurse friend works in a cancer diagnostic clinic. They're seeing a lot of dramatic unexplained weightloss patients, anorexic level. Turns out they're on or have been on Ozempic or the other diabetic drug Mouranga (sp?) Stomach function shut down totally and irreversible. There's one end path to this. Another population reduction system?

Debbie Wagner's avatar

That was my thought. Very thin/anorexic women are often infertile. Also, extreme thinness is a turn-off to most men. It’s a two pronged approach to population reduction. Just another example of the global effort to decrease birth rates.

It may have been Theo Vonn who stated that making out with a too-skinny girl is like making love to a bag full of deer antlers. 🫎😄

Best wrap up ever! Hollywood sure creates some interesting human beings. My goodness, this is so disturbing on so many levels. It's not surprising though, considering that these folks are the same ones with trendy tranny kids. Hopefully the younger generations can see these skeletons for what they are: unhealthy and needing help.

My knowledge of popular culture these days is practically nil. On purpose.

Many people who have used Ozempic have died from it. This info comes from a nurse who has seen friends/patients die from that stuff. It 100% obliterates your appetite. My husband was prescribed Ozempic by his nurse, it was to lower his blood sugar (he has diabetes). He was on it for about 3 months and after about 6 weeks, he didn't want to eat any food - NONE at all. He was literally starving to death. This happened this past summer and he's 80 y.o. with Parkinson's disease - needless to say he was very weak and lost a lot of muscle. It was very scary and horrifying watching all this but thankfully his Home Health Care nurse told us how to get him off of it and how to recover. She's the one who told us she personally has known of patients/friends who have died from Ozempic starving them to death, literally. This stuff needs to be taken off the market and never used by anyone IMO. There are much better ways to lose weight.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

That is so awful and heartbreaking--and I'm SO glad you had an educated nurse!!!

E. Grogan's avatar

Jenna, I just saw this in the news re: Ozempic and people giving it to their cats, causing blindness in the cats but it also can cause blindness in humans:

https://thepeoplesvoice.tv/obese-cats-are-now-going-blind-as-owners-give-them-ozempic-to-lose-weight/

I've had cats for 40 yrs, feed them right they don't get fat! duh...

Linda N.'s avatar

Horrifying. That is criminal and horrible. Cats are overweight only because they don't get enough exercise and aren't allowed to walk around. HUMANS are the !@#$% worst.

E. Grogan's avatar

Yes, we have a WONDERFUL nurse, she's very knowledgeable and a real sweetheart. She always advocates using natural remedies such as herbs/supplements instead of big pharma, which I agree with. Have been an herbalist/supplement user for 50 yrs, those things work better than drugs, with no side effects.

TSco's avatar

“Many died?” How many? Where are the stats on that besides your anecdotal evidence from a nurse friend? Because I also know “many” people (including myself) who have been saved by this medicine. Stop the fear mongering. Everyone should decide for themselves (and their doctor) what’s best for their health. Yeesh.

E. Grogan's avatar

Some of my "nurse friend's" friends have died from it. She's extremely knowledgeable and knows what she's talking about. Glad it saved you but it almost killed my husband, I watched as it happened. It kills your appetite and my husband ate absolutely not one bite of food for 3 months. This is NOT for old people but go ahead and think I'm lying, I really don't care what you think and your insults mean nothing to me.

TSco's avatar

People have been taking Ozempic for years. I’m sorry it happened to you and your friend, but MILLIONS of people have been helped for weight loss and other diseases.

A 2024 study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology found that participants assigned to semaglutide had lower rates of all-cause death compared to those on a placebo (HR: 0.81), including lower rates of non-cardiovascular deaths.

Another study noted that semaglutide reduced the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (heart attacks, strokes, or cardiac death) by about 20% in people with pre-existing cardiovascular disease.

These are stats.

Katherine Larson's avatar

They can print lies…and they do.

Jacquie Fuller's avatar

I would’ve called the doctor after one week of my husband eating “not one bite of food.” You let him go three months?

E. Grogan's avatar

It was the doctor who recommended mounjauro. And I tried everything I could to get him to eat and to quit the mounjaro but he stubbornly refused to listen to me. But thanks for judging me anyway even though you have NO idea who I am.

Janet Phillips's avatar

This nurse didn’t know ANYONE who died from a GLP. There have been 162 deaths since 2018!!!!!

Raven & Dove's avatar

My uncle has type 1 diabetes and his dr prescribed mounjaro in error. It is NOT for type 1 diabetics!! He ended up in the ICU with pancreatitis, heart attack symptoms, could hardly walk on his own. He’s on dialysis now and the list for a kidney transplant. DESTROYED his health. He was managing the type 1 just fine, active, about to start a new business. All of that gone. ⚠️

E. Grogan's avatar

I am sincerely VERY sorry to hear this, many prayers for your uncle. That is horrifying, IMO mounjaro needs to be taken off the shelves and never sold again, also Ozempic and the like. I hope your uncle is able to get a kidney transplant very soon. Any idea how much longer he might need to wait for that? How old is he? And how on earth does a doctor prescribe a medication by error??? Your uncle is on my prayer list! My heart goes out to you, your family and your uncle. ❤️❤️❤️

Raven & Dove's avatar

Thank you, my uncle is 58. Not sure how long he will have to wait for a kidney, as they only put him on the list in the last year. He told his dr that his mistake nearly killed him and the guy said nothing. I encouraged seeking an attorney for a malpractice suit and he had a hard time finding someone to take the case. Just found out last week that he finally has a firm that is going to litigate.

E. Grogan's avatar

Glad you found someone to take the case, that's great! Now if we can just get him healthy!!! Best of luck to him and his family.

E. Grogan's avatar

CORRECTION: my husband was prescribed mounjaro, not Ozempic, but mounjaro is very similar to ozempic and is GLP-1 type medication. Sorry for any confusion. I have a bad head cold and it's scrambled my poor brain.

Julie Akins's avatar

How awful. They’re getting us to kill ourselves

E. Grogan's avatar

BINGO! Very well put, thank you!!

Subterraneanne's avatar

GLP-1s and older people don’t mix, as is increasingly being found.

E. Grogan's avatar

Good info - thank you!

Reneé Davis's avatar

This is a terrifying cautionary tale. I hope your husband is feeling better now

E. Grogan's avatar

Thank you for the good wishes, much appreciated. Yes, he is feeling much better now. A few days ago he finally got his appetite back. It's taken about 4 months for that to happen, though, which tells us something about this drug that isn't good.

Reneé Davis's avatar

Really pleased to hear it!

Twiggy and that whole time triggered my ED. When I was 19 and newly married. It was off and on until I was 31. Then had to heal myself. There was no help around then. Healing myself took several years to get my head where it should be after I stopped the behavior. God gave me the final push to get out from under the whole thing. Glamour magazine in 1981, I think, had an article identifying what I was doing. It shocked me because it described me and my behavior and my mindset perfectly. This was the hardest thing I have ever done. An ED colors and tamps down your entire life and is physically dangerous. Ozempic will be the death of many. Children are next.

Nancy Benedict's avatar

God is good. He's the only real answer.

Bridget's avatar

wow, I can't believe you managed to get out of that on your own. amazing strength!!! <3

Donna O's avatar

I was very much naturally Twiggy-ish in college when she made it big. Lucky for me style wise, but not many considered me attractive. I’m from the South where we consider sweet tea, cheese grits, cornbread and banana pudding a balanced meal—and the men like their women a bit round.

Jane Baker's avatar

That is because it is part of the population reduction program and it's not even a secret. They've worked out how to make Turkeys vote for Xmas.

Valerie's avatar

Woman’s bodies are beautiful, and one reason is because there is so much variation. I hate that our bodies are seen as a fashion trend. They do so much, can we not just love them and take care of them and appreciate whatever form they come in?

This trend is so disheartening, maybe even more than the last social contagion of young women thinking they were transmen. At least with the trans trend, one could wake up, realize that that’s not actually a thing you can do, and go back to what they were born as (hopefully with breasts still attached). Anorexia, whether the old fashioned kind or the ozempic kind, can kill. I wonder how many will find that out too late. Ariana grande and kelly ripa are shocking, absolutely shocking.

And hey! Did you know that ozempic mostly makes one lose muscle weight so when you go off of and regain it’s all fat? Just another little gift that keeps on giving.

John Wright's avatar

{sigh} Humans are weird.

Roberta Stack's avatar

People obsessed with themselves are.

Kathleen Oliver's avatar

Ugliest and stupidest fashion trend ever. My personal mission is to never be a victim of Big Pharma...doing everything I can to avoid ever needing any prescription or fall for the lie that health and well-being comes from a pill or injection. We are what we consume. I want to be sunshine. So I consume locally raised veggies and meat pasture raised. I drink raw milk and happy pasture raised chickens and their eggs. And I take long walks outside for the sun and it's vitamin D. Celebs mock what it is to be human...but I embrace human so called imperfections as natural and life affirming.

Crixcyon's avatar

Great decision. Avoid these butchers at all costs.

Scott B Patchin's avatar

It is all about the amount of calories you throw down your pie hole and not marrying your couch.

Janet's avatar

It’s more what you eat. I gained weight on 1000 calories because extreme dieting or nonsense like Keto, too much fasting, carnivore, OMAD eventually turn into just ultra low calorie diets and ruin your metabolism and you end up insulin resistant and gaining weight because of that. Your body sees starving and acts accordingly. Oh, and your thyroid tanks. Ask me how I know. I was exercising a lot. The calorie in calorie out garbage is a myth. Only Exercising pounds away is a myth also. For a woman too much or over exercising is a double edge sword with hormone and skeletal damage.as with under eating. Do long distance runners look healthy OR happy? Lol. Men have no idea.

Nancy Benedict's avatar

You're onto something here Janet. I was worried about my A1C that had crossed slightly into pre-diabetes range so I dramatically altered my diet, cutting out all carbs. It wrecked my digestive tract, I didn't lose any weight and my A1C remained unchanged. I'm just now getting back to normal, exercising more and eating everything in moderation. It will be interesting when I again have blood work, but I feel 100% better.

Karen Bandy's avatar

I’m working on this too. My naturopath said numbers rise in older women. And you do know that about 10 years ago they lowered the ranges. Sell more pharma? Betcha!

I’m taking some supplements and fiber, PGX granules by Natural Factors. Happy to share more.

I’ve lost 13lbs.

Nancy Benedict's avatar

Thanks! I really need to see a naturopath. And yes, a friend who is a respiratory therapist told me his doctor stated honestly that the upper limit of FBS is actually 120, not 100.

Karen Bandy's avatar

Is that the blood glucose level?

Mine is 120 but A1C is 58-61 🤷‍♀️

Nancy Benedict's avatar

Yes, fasting blood sugar.

Armor of Light's avatar

It is not always calories in calories out. Something happens to your body and you simply can not lose weight. It is a metabolic disorder of some nature. I tried Ozempic for several months. Gained five pounds. Doctor apologized to me because it didn’t work. No miracle weight loss here. Thankfully, I really do like myself just the way I am!! lol!

SH's avatar

My doctor asked me if I would like to try it. I asked him, "Have you looked at the possible side effects of that crap? No way would I try that! I have enough issues now!"

nESSie's avatar

I believe you’re right (at least after a certain age). There came a time for me that OMAD and cardio no longer worked, and I was starting to gain weight.

I switched to eating more and lifting weights (and watching macros) and all my clothes fit again. Carbs are not the enemy (just shite-quality carbs).

Janet's avatar

Yes. Age has much to do with it. When younger you get away with so much more. I had to add carbs back in and eat 3 meals a day to get calories up from my starvation level. I gained weight because my metabolism had slowed so much. I’ve leveled off now. I dont like the weight but my thyroid is improving and I feel lighter. I don’t get on a scale. Lol. I have trouble with starches so limit potatoes and rice. I dont eat grains if I can help it. Very little bread. I added good fruit. I Cut back on high cardio. I just walk and hike now. I have a hand weight program I do when I think of it. My house has 3 sets of stairs that are used often in the day. I’m outside a lot, even in winter. Wrapping my head around the realities of my age and limits is what I’m doing now. Take care, Nessie.. enjoy life !

Crixcyon's avatar

I tried marrying my couch but that filth under the cushions was a deal breaker.

YourGalapagosGullfriend's avatar

Sarah Beth's avatar

🤣 basically.

We talk about self control a lot in my family and what that looks like!

Mehitabel's avatar

My couch doesn’t appeal much to me. But I do love my big ol’ chocolate colored LaZBoy recliner.

Jennifer L.'s avatar

Jenna, you have my appreciative thanks for The Goddess images shown above! I will take that any day compared to the skeletal figures shown. And God willing the HHS under RFK Jr.’s watch will 1) not promote these drugs that benefit (ka-ching $$$) Big Pharma and 2) not force everyone who carries more weight than is considered “acceptable” to take them.

Bridget's avatar

I second this! I was so happy to see these images.

I was just joking with a friend that perimenopause is triggering my "venus of willendorf" era - i keep reminding myself there's a reason that female icons from so many earlier civilizations especially are more voluptuous - because they are REAL. female bodies change esp after childbirth and menopause. hopefully those of us getting hit with this won't be tempted to run to ozempic. yikes. but i looked at these sculptures and was like HELL YEAH BABY

SadieJay's avatar

Amen. I am with you!! I eat so clean you can mop the floor with me and I am still fluffy. But, whatever. God made this. Who am I to argue?

Bridget's avatar

<3 relate on eating habits!

The other day I was surprised and pleased the other day to realize that when I looked in the mirror, for the first time I thought, you know, maybe a little extra isn't bad. I'm gonna lean into the fact that those sculptures exist for a reason :) (I would never ozempic anyway)

SadieJay's avatar

Fat fills out the wrinkles!! We cut up a home grown beef the other day and I actually rendered some fat yesterday. I have 9 more lbs to render down and use in place of toxic oil. I use real tallow on my face. Good stuff.

Bridget's avatar

I've been using tallow for a few years! I just switched it up and added some more expensive, mostly natural but slightly-less-so products too but I LOVE tallow!! And omg you sound awesome

SadieJay's avatar

I bought a brand and my granddaughter told me I smelled like French Fries. Took it back. But would definitely recommend for a woman who is looking for a man.

SH's avatar

Have you tried whipped tallow with manuka honey? It's awesome for all over!

SadieJay's avatar

Yes! I love that. It is the only one that has been ordered twice!

Raven & Dove's avatar

I saw a commercial recently for a drug to curb hot flashes🤬😳 We women have been dealing with those for literally all of herstory and is now a medicalized condition. Of course, the long list of side effects were horrific. Just stop with this bullshit. I believe we are here to have a human experience. Trying to constantly escape it only causes problems.

Demonhype's avatar

Omg, that is my nightmare! With this venom on the market creating the perception that there is no longer any "excuse" to be fat, I'm terrified they will try to mandate it on people they deem overweight or obese. I actually had one dipstick trying to sell me on Ozempic because once it makes me thin and therefore healthy, I will be able to climb stairs! I may be 300 lb but I have no trouble with stairs, and recently giddily bought an at-home stairclimber that was both affordable and weight-rated to my size! (Previously, all I could find for people at my weight were 2000 dollar gym level stuff I have neither funds nor room for). You know nothing about any person based solely on their weight, dude! Lol!

Jennifer L.'s avatar

From what is being uncovered so far Ozempic may make one thinner but the “healthier” part is questionable given people are going blind, getting pancreatitis/gastric ileus, and intestinal malabsorption if they take it.

Demonhype's avatar

God, yes, the blindness. I had heard about the intestinal damages but then I started hearing about the blindness and now I'm wondering exactly how many other horrors this venom will unleash before it gets kicked to the curb. If it ever does, in our thin-centric society that deems anything up to and including cancer to be worth it for the weight loss. (No joke, there was a weight loss drug that was originally a carcinogenic industrial chemical they realized made people thin before they, you know, died hideously and soneone thought "hey, we could feed this to fat people" and some people still try to get it today because apparently this is all about health not aesthetics and its far healthier to be a dead thin person than a fat living person.)

For the screenshot that started “As someone who overcame an ED…” and then mentioned Ariana Grande, considering what she looks like now, I just read it as Erectile Disfunction.

ME TOOOO. Just like with BLM and the riots. I am like "why is the Bureau of Land Management rioting???"

Thought I misread too w/ female author---just being able to eat in a healthy manner for yourself is a very basic skill and all of the scapegoating is just more slop in this modern hellscape passing as civilization.

We are performing plastic surgery on more & more Ozempic patients (men & women) who’ve lost massive amounts of weight.

The cost for all of the procedures; facelift, breasts, arms, legs & torso is enough to buy 2 luxury cars.

They assume plastic surgery will make them look 18 again. The skin is so stretched from years of expansion that it now lacks elasticity. The hanging skin has been removed, but what remains is still loose & non-pliable. The supple bodies of youth have a base of muscle that supports youthful skin. Ozempic starves the muscle of nutrition resulting in less support & firmness.

The muscles loss is obvious in parts of the body that can’t be covered unless you wear a hijab. Pulling & excising the facial skin leaves a boney face which now requires replacing lost volume. Injections with fillers works well, but must be done routinely.

In spite of the complications and expense, most have an almost panicky fear of gaining weight. They like their heroin-chic frames, resulting in life-long Ozempic users.

The moral for me, and should be for most people is, do not overeat. You must want to be slim & healthy more than you want to overeat.

It takes practice & will power. But, it’s easier than spending $100K+ and undergoing painful surgery again & again.

PREACH!!! It's all just insane. Nobody wants to think or talk about the side effects and consequences. It's just GET THIN QUICK and hopefully I'll be one of the lucky ones. So sad.

Why do you have so much contempt for your patients? Yeah, they aren't going to look 18 again, they also want the excess skin removed. Butt out.

Marilyn F's avatar

Since you are not an expert & know nothing about this business butt out.

You have absolutely no idea what profession I'm in or what expertise I have.

Anyway, no, Marilyn, I'll respond to your public comment:

You're a judgey bitch, who, like most female nurses and medical receptionists, thinks she's a doctor by osmosis.

You use this veil of professional authority to cloak your aspersions, and vitriol.

Oh, but what a thin veil it is, Marilyn.

You resent that the fatties can now re-enter society and conventional attractiveness. Their sin is no longer visible.

They might look just like you, or better. And that's not fair now is it?

It's a safe assumption that you're gen-x/elder gen-x by the way you write and your name, and you're no longer benefiting from the grace youth gives, the bloom has fallen off your rose.

But at least you weren't a fatty, right Marilyn?

How unfair this all is to you.

Cope and seethe.

"You have no idea what profession I'm in or what expertise I have".

Goes on to describe the expertise, personality, character, age, morality, motivations and fears of a complete stranger he's never met. 🙄

I get it. You’re fat.

Had a long talk with a friend who is an ER Doc at a major hospital in the Mid-West. She said that these drugs can be useful for people who are in EXTREME danger of dying because of obesity related issues but they are NOT recommended for "regular" people. She sees cases every day of individuals with paralyzed digestive systems, pancreatitis, etc. etc. And, if you are taking one of these GLP-1's it is very important to make sure you are lifting weights because they destroy muscle as well as fat. Most people regain the weight after they stop unless they have changed their lifestyle. Pretty scary stuff....

I wish every young girl and woman could watch the Karen Carpenter documentary: Starving for Perfection. This is so very sad. Carpenter's story is heartbreaking. It looks like we're in danger of having many Karen Carpenter stories.

She had such a beautful voice and that was before auto=tune. Such a crying shame,

Yes, she was an amazing musician with an amazing voice. Gone far too soon.

And because snarky music and theatre critics made nasty “funny” comments when she had a normal body physique of a young woman in her late 20s. The comments hurt her. And it's easy to tell other people to ignore nasty people but our brains are wired to REMEMBER AND DWELL ON that ONE critical comment despite one hundred praising and appreciating ones. (This could be a survival mechanism by which I mean if you are the Chief of a Stone Age tribe and you hear one of your tribe say something with a snarky edge your brain warns you, watch that guy,he might be after your job, just a theory as to why our brains FLAG UP nasty comments.) Karen Carpenter was so talented and loved that it's a tragedy she took any notice but this is exactly what Nietschze was on about in his analysese of how the poor and weak bring down and destroy the wealthy and strong. It's the same process. In a documentary I saw her brother Richard said how he forever regretted giving her that song ‘Goodbye to Love' because he and his colleagues never dreamed it would be prophetic. I see that song as beautiful in her singing of it but ultimately SATANIC because it says that only human love and by extension only love expressed sexually is valid love and if you haven't got that you are doomed to emptiness and nothing but God's Love is always there, here for everyone
