Once again, the media cannot help themselves and I love it! They engage Trump on his terms and help increase his exposure while pretending they somehow “owned” him. They seem to forget he lives by the old P.T. Barnum adage: “there’s no such thing as bad publicity.”

The amazing part…they’ll fall for it all again tomorrow …he owns them

Laura Kasner's avatar

I’ll say it again, someone out there has a wicked sense of humor. And are geniuses at getting the MSM right where they want them.

We can’t hate the MSM nearly enough.

“If we renamed unemployment “Trump Assistance,” we could probably wipe out the national debt by Labor Day.)” The administration should compensate you for this brilliant idea!

Questions:

Until a kid is 18 or takes the money, who benefits from the money? All of those people who seeded it. They did not ’invest’ out of the goodness of their hearts.

Are terms carved in stone or can the terms change or be added to in the next 18 years?

What strings are attached? Not going to college? Oh sorry- we keep the money?

What a cool way to get people to sign up to be tracked……..

The smart move? Invest your own money. If you can find the money to buy a $1000+ iPhone, you can find $1000 to invest on your own.

Just saying.

What are the Polymarket odds on that kid being invited to the White House?

Roger's avatar

Hmm, what are the odds he's already been?

He has been ID'ed. Rylan Ferguson, a University of Alabama student. Future stand-up comic. Former (and current) class clown. 🤡🤣

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

Nice work! (It's Rylan tho, lots of media getting it wrong.) And hilariously, Inside Edition says they "tracked him down and interviewed him" (and quote him as saying he absolutely was not mocking Trump, he was pumped and amazed, it was an honor...) but they don't show the interview! https://www.tiktok.com/@insideedition/video/7665813068424826125

Skenny's avatar

Now that Rylan has expressed support for Trump, the media's elation will subside, and they will quickly sweep it under the rug. Rylan said he would love to meet the President. I'm sure he will.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

Exactly! They're probably all scrambling to pull down their posts... sigh...

So it was Barron?

Now I want a leopard print bathrobe - my 25 year old hot pink Victoria Secret robe is about to retire.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

It’s Ugg and it was a Christmas gift from my daughters. However much they spent on it, it was worth it.😂😂😂

Vince's avatar

Is Ugg the brand name?

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

Yup, like the boots. :)

Vince's avatar

Did you get the boots to match the robe?

Doug's avatar

Somehow a leopard print bathrobe on Jenna is completely unsurprising.

Daryce… I have that pink robe , no joke 😆🤣🤣

It is absolutely true that Trump haters will not get a Trump account for their babies. Neither his parents nor his grandmother (who is my sister) will get one for Baby Alexander. I am gobsmacked.

Laura Kasner's avatar

I wonder what Alexander will say one day when his friends have a chunk of money that he doesn’t have.

Someday when those kids are 18 they will tell their friends,” I’ve got over $100,000 dollars to go to school, or buy a house, etc from the Trump accounts” . The others, hobbled by parents with TDS, will hear this and total up their student loans, future barista jobs (no offense, I salute good baristas) and general lack of prospects, and will ask their parents why they didn’t sign them up and “who is this Trump guy?

Pastor Mike's avatar

Get the kids signed up. We signed up our 2 grand kids July 6th

Educate yourself, but as I recall

1. If born after Jan 1, 25 = $1000

2. Under age 10 and in a zip code where median income is under $150k = $250 (1st 25 million active accounts. Thanks Susan Dell Foundation)

3. Age 11 - 13 and lower income household. 1 share of spaceX stock = about $160 (thx spaceX President Gwynne Shotwell)

And several other federal, philanthropic, and employer contributions available (Ray Dalio / Brad Gerstner)

I thought, based on what is published, that grandparents were the 3rd option if legal guardian or parents did not exist. Is that the case here or did you just go ahead and open the accounts as grandparents without issue. Unless that happens later when the feds discover the parents didn't create the accounts?

Pastor Mike's avatar

Technically ... I sat down with my son n law and made sure he did it. I started to myself and actually created an app account, but realized it would be simpler to make him do it. But As I understand, GPs can open them, but they need to make sure no one else has already, or will.

Pretty solid info here. (good general YouTube retirement planning source. Along with Rob Berger and Kevin Lum)

And watch for TrumpIRA to kick off 2027

-designed to target low-middle income families

-under $71k income ... Contribute $2k to a Trad IRA and get up to $1k government match ANNUALLY.

-can use an existing IRA. (but not a ROTH, although some how supposedly ROTH conts will count, but the fed match will have to go into a Trad IRA)

- joint filers can get up to $2k fed funds annually ($1k each)

Time to go to Fido and open Trad IRAs

There are a lot of things this administration has done that are good for average Americans and their futures. The Trump accounts, the tax relief on tips and overtime are the ones people know about. But why is the 401k option for people who don’t have one at work never discussed (also seeded with $1000 I believe)?

And did anyone else on here hear about the new federal program that gives young people between 18-23 the opportunity to work in a government job to get experience? I heard the Sec of Labor interviewed about it when it came out. You can have a degree or no college at all. He said the federal workforce is aged and these are set terms (I think 2-4 years if I remember right) for young people to work in all kinds of jobs before they go out into the private sector. I think it’s great, especially with so many kids having trouble finding jobs in their fields after college, and kids not knowing what to do with themselves after high school. But the media is silent, to the detriment of people who could really use it.

Note: all of this is from memory, I heard that interview probably 8 or 9 months ago, so I may have some details wrong.

I'll look into it, thanks! :)

"Mom, Braydon just used his Trump account to start tech school. Why don't I have a Trump account?"

"Well son, your dad and I felt that virtue signaling to our friends that we, too, were self-rightious political bigots was more important than signing you up for free money."

"Wow mom, that is the dumbest excuse ever."

So funny! And the Trump account is brilliant! I love that the Dems will bite off their nose to spite their face. And I love the guy imitating Trump!

Wouldn't be surprised if this was a Trump administration setup. Trump knows exactly how to get attention.
