MAGA Wants Candace Owens to Stop Asking Questions
The movement that built its brand on skepticism isn’t handling internal scrutiny very well.

Candace Owens has always been a conspiracy theorist. This is not breaking news. If a narrative arrives fully packaged and neatly shrink-wrapped, she’s going to be one of the first ones to rip off the label. For years, the right didn’t just tolerate this—it applauded it. Skepticism was a feature, not a bug. Owens was a queen.
But her “unhinged” response to Charlie Kirk’s murder—in particular, the parts where she’s suggested the federal government played a role in it and that she believes Charlie actively feared for his life—struck a deep nerve. (The way Trump’s tone-deaf response to Rob Reiner’s murder struck a deep nerve.) Suddenly, a movement built on questioning everything decided this was the one topic where everyone should please stop asking questions immediately.
