Thanks for the clarification. I disagree with the “shoving down my throat” comment because that is actually your discomfort. I would say to analyze your discomfort.

At least, that’s what I do when I feel discomfort because there is a reason, and it’s usually my problem. Thanks again.

I actually have analyzed my discomfort. I will say that the shoving down the throat comment was not precise and was somewhat guided by emotion. My bad, I suppose. As I said before, I like Christians and was raised one myself, but I do not enjoy being told how things are as if the person has some absolute knowledge, when actually that kind of knowledge is agreed upon. May be 100% true; maybe not. I do tend to find with Christians an absolute certainty that their view is absolutely correct, no questions asked. I personally think we all should have open, questioning minds, rather than mindlessly buying into what we’re told. To me this kind of attitude demeans the beautiful book from which they believe they derive their rigid ideas.

It’s childish thinking and probably not all Christians anyway. I notice other religions are not as prone to this kind of talk, even if they do believe that their beliefs are the right ones.

By shoving down my throat I meant the habit of blindly assuming, in a way, that everyone shares their beliefs, though they must know that’s not true.
