You had me at the image!! I'm busy enrolling students in my rabies classes so I'll have to read the rest later. JOKES: yeah, I remember them!

Expand full comment

So about that rabies class. Are you for or against?

Expand full comment

I'm guessing most folks are against rabies... but Dr. Falconer is also not a proponent of rabies vaccines... https://vitalanimal.com/rabies-short-course/

One of our little dogs was diagnosed with pancreatitis a few days after his rabies shot. $2200 ER vet bill and almost 400 mile round trip and all day at the clinic doing tests, to find out why he was crying out in pain. They never could tell us for certain. He is fine now.

Expand full comment

I'm so glad he's fine! I've had cats and dogs my entire (long LOL) life... until recently, I vaccinated them all as their vets recommended (except for one kitty who was traumatized as a kitten and putting her in the carrier was pure hell so I decided a decade ago she'd be the exception... and she has outlived all of her companions, go figure!). I shudder to think how many of those rashes/infections/joint problems/early deaths were caused by those shots--not to mention how much money I spent trying to undo the damage. We are a v-free pet household now and always will be, woohoo!

Expand full comment

Love stories like this! Generations of vaccine free animals are now a thing, from Natural Rearing breeders. And they are amazing from the get go!

How do we get around the county laws that our animals MUST have a rabies vaccination on file or we are fined. I get notices every three years that I’m in violation.

Expand full comment

I used to have mine vaccinated and never questioned it until the C and my own research into the history of vaccination. Then I remembered my granny alsways had cats and never went to the vet with them at all. They got old and died at home.

Expand full comment

Oooof that "died at home" stabbed me in heart. I've had to "put down" nearly every single pet I've ever had. Damn. Sure does make one wonder... :(

It's a bit more nuanced, Jenna.

I know, that's why I shared the link... ;)

It's a highly individual decision, depending entirely on where and how the animal and owner live. To get a free head start, grab my free Rabies Masterclass: https://vitalanimal.com/rabies-masterclass/

I shoukd think the team in favour of rabies isn't that large 😂

Wait, are you by chance a homeopathic vet? An online friend in a homeopathy discussion group has mentioned your name. 😀

Expand full comment

Yes. Retired to teaching now, but was practicing classical homeopathy for 30 years or so.

I am heartened by how every single insane attack on humanity is now met with a reclaiming of that which is valued: truth, listening, a strong immune system, real food, smart humor, authenticity, connection.

AMEN!

You forgot memes. We are waiting, Meme-Lords. Bringing the truth disguised as a meme is very important in a society who has the collective intellect of a single-cell amoeba. Present company excluded, of course. I do not associate with such organisms, it is painful. "I think I have found my people!" she exclaimed with a mouthful of organic dates and a copy of Yankee Doodle Soup on her lap and the laptop beside her on the couch...mouse in hand.

Expand full comment

Interesting you say that as I receive email from at least two people who every so often send a bunch of memes that speak truth in funny ways. I agree that those can be satisfying even for those of us whose intellect is greater than a "single-cell amoeba" haha.

Expand full comment

I love good memes. And they bring truth to people who think they are just seeing something ridiculous, but it also brings home the stupid and lays it at their feet. Most times in the disguise of so many people’s reality. But for the last 4 years, where would we really be? Way more ignorant and content with what once was the status quo. Now we demand more and better…when we didn’t even know we were in such darkness. Crazy how this is all working out.

I wish I could copy the photo on Messenger but I can't - a Cardiff single-decker bus saying where it usually tells you the destination "I am not a bus, I identify as a train".

Journalism is not dying, but becoming rejuvenated by folks like you providing logical insight albeit with a bit of sarcasm that has not been filtered by editors. Brave new world is upon us as truth emerges with a little humor thrown in from the fog of advertising-driven manipulation for profit. These people have had no clue that truth is the final arbiter of human attention with their offerings' shriveled results.

Ah, yes, love this take and I agree.

If saying something dumb is grounds for being fired, then every talking head of any political persuasion should have been sacked ages ago.

Expand full comment

One reason why there’s no good reporting today.

Another is access.

Want to ask leaders questions?

You need access.

Expand full comment

Yup. I listened to a fascinating Naomi Wolf podcast this week where she was talking about how not only do you need access, but EVERY question has to be approved in advance. So when Stephanopoulos interviewed Biden after the debate and said that his performance "seems to fit into a pattern of decline that has been reported on recently," and brought up a New York Times that said "Biden's lapses are said to be increasingly common and worrisome," that was pre-approved. To my earlier point, they let us see what they want us to see, period.

Expand full comment

Now we’re seeing the marketing and messaging for Kamala Harris. The same people will be in charge and the policies will be the same.

And if you think they’re going to admit that? Just ask them.

Expand full comment

Oh, I’m afraid the policies are going to get much worse if the Kacklin Kamala is elected

Expand full comment

Absolutely and always - “they let us see what they want us to see”. Seeing Biden at his worst in the debate was no accident. It was just timed.

Expand full comment

I’m pretty sure when you saw Biden close his eyes at that debate, he was struggling to hear and remember “his” upcoming response in his hearing aids. Not unusual for older folks to close their eyes and focus on the sound.

Another is the failure to teach grammar and vetting in the public fool system.

Modern feminism: girls and women being ruled and bullied by men claiming to be women all while screaming about the patriarchy. But how dare he state an obvious truth about women. I am a great grandmother, what I'm witnessing today is truly insane.

It’s also about confusing/accepting of the kids for the coming “trans-humanist” agenda … synthetic biology.. no more “human babies” anymore.

Crisper Science has changed all that & the “scientists” have decided that’s the way the species is headed.

I just learned about all this science in the last 2 years…. They have kept us divided & fighting over stupid stuff while they roll out all this crazy new technology that’s ready … 🙏🙏

Journalism has been dead for decades. Brain dead people just didn't notice. Thankfully some are waking up but it was obvious. That tells me people watch way too much tv and don't think critically about what they are watching. I noticed as a child what the programming was doing, especially commercials. Then the programs began to push their own narratives on the populace. Shoot your tv!

Fifty years now, I’ve known it was all bullshit. As soon as dear uncle Walter told us everything they wanted us to know about Vietnam, I knew that journalism was dead.

Fantastic write up today. So fun to read through. I loved all the links too.

It sure seems like an over correction to lash out at him in a useless effort to garner support from the many real women offended by their Olympic opening. They sooooo don’t understand.

Great one. Enjoy your comedy. Floating this. I reference the "look, squirrel" theory in my analysis and writing because it is used all the time. Is this is a "look squirrel" that takes us further away from the opening debacle?

Absolutely! That and they can't and don't report on so many things that are REAL and IMPORTANT so they have to fill all their pesky time and column inches with *something.* It's absurd.

Question - what are all the demonic diisplays and bullsh*t stories going on at the Olympics a distraction from? Hmmmmm

This makes me think of a joke from Nicholas De Santo. "Instead of being told what to think by men, women are now told what to think by uglier women."

To me, the twist "refused to ask for directions" is the funnier of the two jokes, but that's probably because I am a woman 😂
