I lived in East Bay SF (Walnut Creek 1977-1995) then Benicia, CA 2000-2009) after which I left CA for good. Moved back to my hometown in PA. I feel like I enjoyed the best years of CA. When SF was safe and clean and easy to visit. We could go out at night and never worried. By the time I left in 2009, SF was a pit and they had ruined Walnut Creek. Crime was creeping into Benicia and the schools were terrible. I am sorry that you have to see that great state in such decline.

I live on an 8 acre property surrounded by the Santa Monica Mountains and a view of the Pacific Ocean to die for! For the most part, I can live my life and ignore the BS.
I have an ever expanding garden that keeps me grounded and produces beautiful flowers and produce.
We will likely never see this property, but looking for farmland in a ruby red state!

That's because if you are a US oil company and pump a barrel of oil out of the ground, and the global price for oil is $110, instead of $60, then that barrel of oil is worth $110. It's not worth the old price of $60 just because it's located within the US borders. Of course gas prices go up when the value of oil doubles. Unless the US government imposes price controls on US oil companies (not saying they should) this is the way it works.
