I was dressed like Uncle Sam, standing in the back of our patriotically decorated 16ft trailer, while playing cadences on my Quint Tennors. And I was being pulled by my neighbor, a retired Marine, with his bad-ass lifted '96 Suburban painted in Marine dress blue, with a red stripe and gold accents. My Wife followed in the convertible Mustang, with the grandkids standing in the back seat throwing Bazooka Joe (the one-year-old was "helping" her drive). Two parades, over 300 total entries, and nary a furrie to be found anywhere. It's good to live in the Bible Belt!
Did anyone watch the fireworks show? Was anyone here actually in WDC to see it? It was 10x the size of the July 4th fireworks in NYC and world-record breaking in the amount of fireworks; something like 850,000, on 6 or 7 floating barges and land launchers. I thought the first 20 min was incredible, but it went on and on. More and bigger and better. And with the occasional lightning bolt added to the mix, it was like nothing I’d ever seen in my life. Simply spectacular.
I hate crowds. I hate heat and humidity. But I love this country. My son and his wife have TDS. But I love them also. They were visiting for the weekend so I kept it to some references to WOW 250 years type of thing. And the reason I put up with them two is their two wonderful little boys who I adore. Our neighborhood had a wonderful fireworks demo that we all enjoyed. And I scanned the info sites to keep up to date with activities. To be honest I was crossing my fingers that there was going to be mass arrest of all politicians, judges and deep state to start the country fresh again. But I know my dream and hopium would not materialize.
And I am proud of My/Our President Donald J. Trump. God Bless America.
@Steve- speaking as a grandmother of a granddaughter who has two of her own, may I say this?: They know your love for those kids. Don't let them manipulate that love. Be who you are. Ask me how I know.
We spent the 4th near Mt Rushmore delighted that the president came to town. We hadn't been able to get tickets to the event (before anyone knew it included the president) but Air Force 1 and some of the accompanying air craft flew over our hotel, which was a thrill as was listening to his speech knowing it was taking place 30 minutes down the road.
Equally as much we enjoyed being around so many others who were openly celebrating our nation and positively talking about Trump. We come from deep blue country where people don't look kindly on such things.
We visited Mt Rushmore for the first time a few years ago and it was magical. I had never felt so patriotic. I can’t imagine how it must have felt this year. 🇺🇸🗽🌭🥁🧨
Well, I had the good fortune of leaving my 90 y/o good friends birthday and head home grab a poncho and head into DC. We got as close as possible and took the G line train. It was a short (for us) line to get into the GREAT AMERICAN STATE FAIR…free water everywhere, cause it was hot (I asked who is supplying it…TRUMP)…..Fun going into the various state booths, but I was struck that the ‘beer’ line stretch far, but another line was just as long..Pennsylvania. We left to go grab food from a food truck and noticed large waves of people coming out. Apparently weather was coming in so we decided to walk a bit to the water (Potomac)…to grab a grassy patch and wait out for the fireworks (it rained but we were prepared)…long delay for weather and the President to give his speech. Then the B -1, after burners and all flew over and then the fireworks started. The one major observation was we were all dressed in red white and blue, no blue hair and no nose rings….hummmmmm….was impressed on how well the crowd was and everyone had smiles…wish I could post my pictures, it was certainly a ‘once’ in a lifetime event…GOD BLESS AMERICA…
Hang on. Gotta go grab a tissue to wipe my eyes from laughing so hard at your memes. 🤣🤣🤣
I was on a sailboat out on Lake Somerville watching hours of redneck fireworks go off around us. Before that, there were boat parades and golf cart parades. Not a tv or phone in sight. It was amazing.
This is one of my favorites, Jenna. Perfect mix of humor and old fashioned American pride without sugarcoating. You rock and you make me proud to be an American and a Texan.
”Imagine watching thousands of Americans turn out and deciding the real story is how badly you want them to be miserable.“
You nailed it Jenna! This is the downstream effect of years of propaganda and what happens when moral righteousness takes over- a desperate need for ”bad people“ to be miserable (and get what they deserve). Happy 250 America you big beautiful mess! 💓🇺🇸💓
I can’t stand watching any TV, but I very happily watched the celebration. It was a joy to see all of those people in celebration of our great nation. At least the one our forefathers envisioned.
We were in the center of a very small town in our RV. They had a wonderful parade, good food and a car show. There was a celebration the night before with live music, kind of an open mic sort of thing and luckily some artists were there from Portland who were really great! 😆 Anyway, not a tv in sight and it was glorious! I’ll watch President Trump’s speech later today. 🇺🇸🗽🥁🌭🧨
Why? They were probably out partying. My sister, her family, & my mom(84) were boating in Lake Havasu. I’m sure they weren’t focused on a television. Could’ve been for many others. I was home so I watched many of the festivities in the evening.
When people who hate America and her past hear someone speak who loves America and embraces her past, they cannot help but write (report) through a grossly warped lens. I don't know if it's all TDS, or TDS combined with hatred for America, but the fact it is unrelenting tells me they have an agenda they are serving that supersedes any reality. The truly sad thing is these people don't stop with Trump or the U.S., they often fundamentally just hate life in general.
Spencer Pratt posted a fabulous Independence Day video. In it he talks about the importance of history and how it defines us. We all have a few defining moments in our lives. The birth of our first child. Marrying the love of our lives. You know what I am referring to…right?
A defining day in my life was the day I became a citizen of the greatest country on earth. Yes, the greatest! It is far from perfect and I point it out All The Time! That is the point! I live in a country where I have the freedom to point out the problems and flaws and still love it with all my being. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🎂🎂🎂❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏💥💥💥
I love the 4tth of July Independence Day celebration, because I love fireworks as they're like Sky Art to me. It's illegal to set them off here but every year our whole neighborhood sets off massive amounts anyway; our Facebook group had people boasting of having spent more than $500 on fireworks, and they went on until 3 AM. It smelled like gunpowder outside. All this despite 9 LE's living one street over from me who also partake in the party and at times it rained, thundered, and had wind gusts of 35 mph+. No one stopped for even a minute. You do not want to get between West Texans and their fireworks. We also ordered in Texas Roadhouse for the party so it was glorious! I watched quite a bit of the festivities in DC, also glorious. Did a post about the 4th with a travelogue of the USA on Friday too. Just a a fantastic weekend all around.
I live in West Texas, too, in a rural community. I was amazed at all the fireworks. Even in my street. It was beautiful and fun. I also noticed that despite the whining about the economy, people were out in droves spending money this weekend.
It was really HOT here in Northern Virginia. Fireworks was cancelled but WOW, we had a lot of fireworks going on... because this little part of Northern Virginia is really super great.
No gay ppl, no fairy flags and no thugs.
Fireworks went off all day and the next.
The old people picnic was cancelled but we did get the fancy ice cream truck at the club house.
I watched quite a lot of it on Fox. Here in NH we had a boat parade on the lake, boats all decked out for the occasion. We waved our flag and are thankful to live in this beautiful country of ours. Loved the memes Jenna!
I have only seen short clips at this point but intend to go back and watch. As a resident in a FIFA World Cup host city I attended a mutual celebration of our 250th birthday and sport. The evening was capped by a spontaneous group singing of "America the Beautiful" while riding a packed streetcar back to our parking spot. I hope this made an impression on all the foreign tourists riding with us. I love this country!

🇺🇸👏🎆
https://ozarkradionews.com/local-news/video-2026-willow-springs-4th-of-july-parade Purely amateur hour (at about the 28 minute mark) -- I had not played marching drums since graduating from HS in '84. This was the first parade of the day, with my son towing me in his vehicle, instead of being towed by my neighbor...
That's as wholesome as it gets and I LOVE that you are ALL IN! Well done, sir! :)
Russell, thank you loads for sharing. Super cool.
Excellent! 🇺🇸
Fantastic!! 🎂❤️💥🇺🇸🙏
Holy cow, great job! Some of those floats were killer, too! Thanks for posting this!

@Steven- we watched on tv (we old and husband's very busy bday was the day before so we were still tired) and it was magical.
It was overwhelmingly beautiful.
Trump simply loves America. He’s been that way all of his life. It’s genuine.
I hate crowds. I hate heat and humidity. But I love this country. My son and his wife have TDS. But I love them also. In the same boat here…know how you feel…truly worth it.

That's amazing!!!!
And as groups of National Guards walked by the crowd erupted in USA USA USA and clapping…
Is this a great country or what!

Bad ass. 🤬🍑🙌😘❤️
TDS. It’s a real thing. (Unfortunately)
This is gold:
”Imagine watching thousands of Americans turn out and deciding the real story is how badly you want them to be miserable.“
You nailed it Jenna! This is the downstream effect of years of propaganda and what happens when moral righteousness takes over- a desperate need for ”bad people“ to be miserable (and get what they deserve). Happy 250 America you big beautiful mess! 💓🇺🇸💓
100%!
I am saddened that at this moment, almost a third of the votes are for “0 hours and zero seconds, happily”. 😢😢😢
Let's think they may be referencing 0 hours or minutes of MSM B.S.
Good point! Who would want to watch TDS on steroids? All I have to do is walk amongst the TDS afflicted in my town to hear such BS!
It was the “happily” part that distresses me.
I can’t stand watching any TV, but I very happily watched the celebration. It was a joy to see all of those people in celebration of our great nation. At least the one our forefathers envisioned.

I chose that, but added that I went to a food-music-fireworks display. So, I did celebrate Independence Day, just not the one in DC.

we did not have any tv or radio on, that is for sure.

I had to laugh at the opening clip in this collection of foreigners enjoying America:

Where are you? I'm south of Amarillo.
