My daughter home schooled her kids through eighth grade. At the high school, two of them decided to do it in three years and arranged their schedules to accomplish it. They were way ahead of their public school classmates. Now days, real education is had by home schooling or through some private schools.
My daughter 'unschools' her kids. It is the most freeing thing ever. They learn fractions by cooking, handling money by having little jobs (like picking up dog poo or mowing lawns) and they are free to pursue anything that interests them, like penguins, owls or otters. National Park trips and keeping score or playing multiple games and cards...everything becomes a lesson. Even with us grandparents, we can't just answer with one word. It is a reason behind what wrench my husband uses and things like that.
You'd love one of my fave movies, rewatched when ever I need a boost: Viggo Mortensen in Captain Fantastic. His kids are all priceless examples of what public schools will never achieve (to great hilarity when they visit cousins in suburbia).
My kids all attended private religious schools from grades 1 through 8. Two of them decided they wanted to attend our local public high school. We had to cave for financial reasons (the private high school would have cost as much as some colleges but with no financial aid). When we registered them for the public high school, we were asked which elementary school they'd attended. And when we said the name, they waived the entrance placement exam because they knew the kind of education they'd received there. I think that says a lot about what even the employees of public schools know about the product they're producing.
In my town Target and Wal-Mart are in adjacent shopping areas. Back at the end of "The Great Plague", when everyone was getting fed up and starting to rebel against masking and distancing, Wal-Mart was a bastion of the "take your mask and shove it" crowd.
My shopping buddy and I had to make a stop at Target so she could pick up a prescription. The place looked like a surgical suite. Everyone carefully masked, some even in latex gloves, scrupulously observing the gospel as preached by St. Fauci. My friend sighed and says, "Well, I guess we know where all of the Democrats shop."
Never shopped there, until last week, when it was the most convenient option to get some dorm room necessities for my son. It was a very nice experience. The cashier gave us 20 percent off and was very friendly. God bless Kentucky.

I was only a member--giving them real cash for the privilege--because they provided legal counsel if a student went crazy. It seemed a reasonable insurance policy. The need for this coverage was made clear to me when a student came after me in my part-time teacher era for failing her--when she stopped handing in work, especially the big final paper and skipped the final exam! She was freaking nutz!
I've boycotted Target for more than a decade, after they banned the Salvation Army bell ringers at Christmas. Later their lefty political causes. I may have to re-evaluate, especially if they refuse to kowtow to this madness. Businesses should stay out of politics. As Michael Jordan wisely said, "Republicans buy sneakers too." They lie. Their foundation is a lie. For example, they tell new teachers that they are the only option for liability insurance. False. Thanks to the Supreme Court 2018 ruling, teachers do not have to pay agency fees. Before 2018, if you lived in a right-to-work state, you didn't have to. There are other organizations that provide teacher's liability insurance.
I joined the Association of American Educators (aaeteachers.org) and for $19.50/mo. I get TWICE the liability insurance of the unions and GUARANTEED retainership of an attorney if needed. The unions say that they will represent you, but that's a lie, too. They pick and choose which cases they will represent, and usually they pick any case involving their union heavies and ignoring anyone else. I've seen it happen. The district couldn't get rid of a union heavy caught inebriated with a bottle of whiskey in her desk, while another "regular" teacher didn't get representation for obvious discrimination.
If you know of a teacher that might benefit from this, send them to aaeteachers.org. Your teacher friend is likely paying their union 4 or 5 times more than I am for less coverage.
At some point I stopped shopping at Target because it wasn’t actually “discount”. My Target runs were too pricey! I too had to drive just over an hour on the Mass Pike with 2 littlins in tow.. those were the days!

I read that anything with a specific health "boost" like the protein drinks, chips and all that are not a good idea. Best to get your vital nutrients from food that is not fake and gay. Just like getting our news from the same...

The dandelions in my yard (I don't spray it) or raw milk...bring it. Still have a hard time leaving eggs as I grab them out of the coop, but the truth is a growing experience!
We need to boycott the public school system.
