Trump ought to have turned to the guy, smiled, waved at him, not middle-fingered him, and kept on walking. Don't give a sh*thead person any reason to think they "got under your skin".

David Nelson's avatar

Our President can't do that. He cannot see that there's something _beyond_ getting a guy fired that's an even bigger "win!" He doesn't reflect. He doesn't weigh. He's Mr. Immediate.

The reminder TNAS (Trump's Not A Statesman) should be seen regularly, like TAW.

I wish we did have one, but statesmen are probably too brittle for his job at this moment.

I voted for Trump. I regret the occasional embarrassment, but there's no arguing effectiveness. #sorrynotsorry

RANDALL R NORTON's avatar

Does TAW stand for "Trump Always Wins" ?

David Nelson's avatar

Yes, "Trump Always Wins." (Bears repeating.) When he doesn't, he lets us know he didn't care about it anyway... :^)

Donna O's avatar

Remember, “statesman” is defined today as “willing to compromise for the enrichment of politicians and special interest groups at the expense of taxpayers.” I can live without them at the helm.

David Nelson's avatar

I meant the former kind, the real-not-feigned statesman. I mean I'm glad Trump is not a "statesman" in today's meaning, but I do hope--some day--we can afford to go back to having real statesmen in government.

Maybe after elections can't be stolen and people who try anyway lose their vote and watch from the sidelines in orange stripey one-pieces from prison exercise yards.

Anna Lafferty's avatar

I agree that statesmen are probably too brittle for this job at the moment.

David Baldwin's avatar

I agree with the comments, I LOVE Trump! But he's a "Ready, Fire, Aim" kind of guy. It's probably because of his New York background. He's not a statesman (TNAS) is right on. I just ignore these kind of (re)actions as "He's just being Trump!" and move on. I'd rather have TRUMP as POTUS with all these weird things since he has done so much for us. I'm sure he's doing things to help us that we don't even know about yet.

God Bless Trump and keep him safe and directed!

Lori's avatar

There is nothing weird about him. If you want weird, look in the direction of the left.

And he is a statesman. One that finally has balls of steel.

GregWA's avatar

Good points...and I wonder, if Trump had taken the high road, the road he spends very little time on, would the bozo heckler have gotten as much from the GoFundMe? The press would have been much less so I suspect no big payoff.

Lori's avatar

Any self respecting person would not accept the money but Sabula is a white trash call boy.

SuszaQ's avatar

Unions suck. The guy works for FORD. The union doesn’t write his paycheck. All the booger-pickin’ morons that feel compelled to donate to a GoFundMe for this asswipe are braindead, sheep.

They would never think of donating to a cause that actually helps people i.e. childhood cancer.

Let the union bail this asshole out with their funds. It’s funny how the union sheep never seem to have a problem with their Union President making 7 figures. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

The sad part is that rewarding behavior in this way only leads to more of it, and because the first time is novel but the 2nd time is old news, each successive attempt has to be magnitudes better. Which often means it quickly reaches stupid or dangerous.

Great when it’s rescuing kittens from burning buildings, not so great when it involves testing the limits of ICE or the Secret Service.

Tonee norman's avatar

That didn’t occur to me..I agree. Oh,good grief!

LoveIsCourage's avatar

Better we use anything other than Go fund me after they went full CommuFascist collusion with Globocap Pharma war during Covid. Seizure of donations to Canadian freedom (trucker) convoy and initially moving to legally NOT return to donors.

Give Send Go came to the rescue while truckers and families were needing food and fuel etc.

There’s no forgiveness for the damage done when Go Fund Me remains fake and GAE

KC & the Sunshine's avatar

I am with you! I donated to the Canadian truckers even as Trudeau was spouting lies about them. 🤥 GFMe tried to keep MY $$, saying they were going to send it to some other Canadian charity I’d never even heard of.

Absolutely not! I haven’t donated another dime through them since, and I never will.

LoveIsCourage's avatar

Yes I left that “we’re the nice people so we’re not going to KEEP your money” sociopathy out of my post. Thanks for adding that I was trying to keep it brief

And of course we could reasonably expect what kind of cashomat/weapon of 5th gen war their Chosen charity would be

LoveIsCourage's avatar

And I’m so glad they got shamed out of their plan!

Keep up the good work freedom fighters. When the minions shriek and self righteously snark it’s up to us to be spiritually fit sufficient to laugh with a genuine smile and flip to a flat NO

So did I and glad I did. I can only hope the truckers got the money. I heard from a Canadian friend that her neighbor, a trucker did receive some funds.

Scott's avatar

Yeah, I avoid giving to Go Fund Me if at all possible. Their treatment of the truckers is absolutely unforgiveable.

Occam's avatar

You said what I came here to say.

EXCEPT when the state deems it the Wrong type of protest/support, then they debank you and cancel the GFM.

Canada is a shithole.

LoveIsCourage's avatar

Check out the Brave New Normal podcast latest episode with John-Paul Berg. Really up to date and deep take on Canada today. I wasn’t familiar with John-Paul and much appreciate his rigorous honesty and discrimination

Tonee norman's avatar

The Trucker debacle was nearly unbelievable. The ostrich slaughter was a horrific warning about just how far and how easily Canada will do away with you…..so hard to wrap my head around growing up in the era where Canada would rescue anyone who could not morally fight the Vietnam war…

KC & the Sunshine's avatar

Yes! Trudeau is head turd.

“This isn’t about defending Trump’s decorum. I think we can all agree he has none.” Nah, he has a normal level of decorum. He gave the proper response to that dickhead’s comment. I recall when people had respect for the president, regardless of party. Frankly, TJ wouldn’t say that to Trump’s (or anyone’s really) face, so he’s a coward. Social media has caused people to forget there can be consequences to their words.

Juju's avatar

I don’t believe TJ gave even a blink of a thought to true Epstein victims once in his pathetic life, and the ONLY reason he shouted what he did is that it has become one of the main “hate Trump” slogans. That is the ONLY thing he cared about. And for that he was rewarded. Disgusting

Justin's avatar

I imagine TJ will have his brief notoriety, and then coworkers will shun him for his windfall, or start asking for money from him, until he can't figure out who his friends really are.

Valerie's avatar

My feelings as well.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

At first I was disappointed in Trump's reaction to the heckler. But then decided that an elderly man with very high testosterone levels who could register his reaction to being heckled was actually kinda cool. After what Trump has been put through since winning the presidency in 2015, I can't blame him for his honest display.

Valerie's avatar

I have an older brother and have always loved men and the way they behave with each other (I could never have survived in an all-female profession like teaching), and I thought the finger was exactly what most men would do in that situation. I wasn’t offended at all, the guy was a douche and deserved a middle finger.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

I agree. Men are more confrontational than women, a trait I admire. Women find more surreptitious means of signaling displeasure. I have always preferred arguing with men than with women, because there are no hard feelings afterwards. Women I work with tend to pout.

Valerie's avatar

I cannot stand how women backbite, gossip, manipulate. It drives me crazy. Thankfully as an adult I’ve found many ‘guys girls’ like me to be friends with, but my college years and early 20s were pretty distressing.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

Funny how that happens: for most of my life my best friends were men and my women friends were high maintenance emotional basket cases. But in the last 5 years I've finally found two wonderful women who aren't afraid of a difference of opinion, who aren't shy about having a muscular difference of opinion. I still have one friend, though, who "punishes " me with the silent treatment when I push back against her.

Mary Yungeberg's avatar

Yes! You are 100% correct! This is indeed exactly what I voted for. Someone with the cojones to respond with what the pos deserved. I worked with guys on the ramp in the airline biz for years and I wasn’t offended in the least. 👍🤣

Janet's avatar

Maybe if the company he works for hadn’t reacted to punish him so quickly it may have blown over. We do have a right to say things, don’t we? Still, the situations we are in with this shows to me we have shot past 🤡 🌎 into another universe altogether. Having said this, im not bothered by Trump’s reaction.

Juju's avatar

It wasn’t that he said it it was because 1) he represents the company at work, not himself, and 2) Trump has done more for Ford than anyone else so he was frankly wayyyyy out of line. Respect was due whether you like Trump or not.

Lori's avatar
Jan 17Edited

The guy was at work. His employer does not pay him to open his piehole and say something rude to the President. I would have fired him on the spot.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

I wondered about that at first, but then realizedI the one place where there is no freedom of speech is the workplace.

Farmer Liz's avatar

Exactly! What that guy did reflected poorly on the company (Ford) he worked for hence, they were 100% justified in punishing him for it.

Valerie's avatar

They said suspended, not fired.

Michael Framson's avatar

Not meaning to side-track the thrust of this article, but the Epstein saga continues, because Epstein did not kill himself, his victims will never see justice. We will likely never know the truth is such an irritant, no matter how much we demand it. Charlie Kirk, did not die from a 30-06 round to the neck.

It's just we are being repeatedly lied to. Trump will be Trump is just the way it is. Truth, justice and the American way is for super heroes--wishful thinking.

Lori's avatar

Yes he will and he rocks!

Rebecca Beck's avatar

Mary Ann I cldnt agree more!!

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

Sorry 😢 I have to go heckle the mayor…. Look 👀 for my go fund me page!

John Wright's avatar

GoFundMe is a flat out rip off. The only ones getting rich are the financial institutions skimming their cut off these donations and the scammers collecting the money from fools.

It's a nice idea, but it's gone horribly wrong. People are idiots! As the saying goes: "A fool and their money shall be soon parted."

Flippin’ Jersey's avatar

I won’t donate to any cause via Go Fund Me after their treatment of the Canadian truckers (anyone remember that?!).

KC & the Sunshine's avatar

I do. I remember being so livid abt it that I couldn’t sleep. Never have I written so scathing a letter.

GFMe sent something saying they had chosen another charity for my

money to go to because the truckers “weren’t protesting peacefully”. (Hello, I didn’t donate to GFMe for YOU to decide where it should go?!)

Apparently Trudeau put the kibosh on GFMe donations, forgetting that everybody over 11 now has a camera in their pocket.

The protests were a heck of a lot more peaceful than anything going on in Minnesota— then, and now.

John Wright's avatar

Exactly! I don't trust Go Fund Me or the people using it!

Warrior Mom's avatar

I also donated to the Canadian truckers convoy. apparently only US citizens got their money back after GoFundMe decided to seize it, and that was only because we had a very brave, incensed member of Congress raise a massive stink about it and threaten legal action. I am mad at myself for not remembering who exactly that person was. I guess everyone else who donated were SOL. some Canadians who donated got their bank accounts frozen. I remember reading about a grandmother who just purchased a T-shirt, having accounts frozen, other truckers having their operating insurance cancelled, etc. Massive middle finger to GoFundMe.

Lori's avatar

Never got my donation back and I am a US citizen.

Warrior Mom's avatar

oh no! that's terrible. I got mine back quite promptly. put right back in my small credit union checking account.

Lori's avatar

I am glad you got yours back. Will never use GFM again. They are obviously catering to the lunatic left.

Jim Moore's avatar

Perhaps union guy is in a time warp and mistook prez Trump for former prez Clinton.

Trump to issue emergency EO today renaming Go Fund Me to Go F Yourself.

I chose Only If It’s Funny in the poll. If it’s witty and timely mocking of a public figure who’s earned it, knock yourself out, win cash prizes.

Mike Myhre's avatar

Never under estimate the power of Americans to collectively hate for a cause.

I mean what better way to check all the emotions boxes. You get to be angry in the name of compassion and feel righteous indignation all at the same time. It truly makes you better than everyone else!!

David Nelson's avatar

You're right, Mike. I don't think that an emotional response is necessarily a shallow one, or that it's goal is always to make me (feel) better than everyone else; it could be to make me feel better about my self.

I'm getting a lot of solicitations. Dispassionate presentations, which are rare as bald spray in the beauty aisle, don't get me off the couch to send anything in. The uber-vast majority of them come at me with an aim to trigger an emotional response. As I've watched myself, dispassionately you know, I've observed that I tend to respond, emotionally, to the ones that appeal to my emotions--to DO something besides just sit there and stew. After my emotion is spent, I find I'm good for days at a time before another appeal can get my interest. ("We--still--need a better way" than "bulk mail." GoFundMe Is Not It. GiveSendGo could be.)

Juju's avatar

I always turn off notifications and emails for any of them after donating. I even uncheck the box to receive updates on the fundraiser. I give if I want to help someone and move on. I don’t need them contacting me for more fundraisers.

Tonee norman's avatar

I no longer open them( especially the ones with sad animals on the front)unless they have really cute Return address labels inside. It simply is not possible to know if they are legitimately using my money as promised. The “pie charts” aren’t always truthful.😉

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

Let us not fail to recognize a fundamental difference in the world's power centers... that heckling Xi Jinping would no doubt find you behind that factory with your internal organs having been monetized...and doing the same to Vladimir Putin, well, let's just say you wouldn't be around to collect the dough. And if one thinks that those two totalitarian states are unique, then take a look at the premier, so-called Democratic states in present-day Western Europe, where posting an admiration for bacon on social media will get you arrested and fined, and criticizing members of the government will get you a lengthy prison term. The President's relatively mild response to what would certainly command a long and uncomfortable prison stay, if not a death sentence in other jurisdictions, is a testament to our nation's dedication to free and unfettered speech... a reward for being a dumbass is a testament to our nation's stupidity... but then again... the Left will cannonize its own for any reason and at any opportunity made available.

Janet's avatar

Basically what I was going to say. At minimum you’d be arrested for mean words or roughed up in many countries. That is happening in the UK right now. Police state at your door. Or in Ir@n where they are actually under the gun and threat of death for protesting. Do we see “those limelight’s of human rights” like Sarandan or other self important lefties standing up for them lately? I haven’t seen a freakin word out of them. They would run away like the pissants they are.

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

"pissants"... Now there's an old-school term that I applaud the use of... very descriptive... and appropriate!!

Janet's avatar

A name my farmer daddy used often to describe some folks back in the day. Also used at times while a gaggle of his 5 kids swirled around his life. More affectionately said, of course. 😊

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

My guess is that our dads are from the same generation... :)

Lori's avatar

too bad the left does not cannabalize its own until there are none left.

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

Don't worry, with the insanity of the left approaching the speed of light... men becoming women, women becoming men, men marrying men, women marrying women... I believe that in two generations, there will be no more leftists... It's an unavoidable consequence of a lack of procreation; they disappear... kind of like the Shakers... :)

David Nelson's avatar

EXCELLENT points, Anthony.

And may I say I have never encountered a more noble defense of giving the finger.

I am not sure Mr. Trump would get the point, being more concerned with why "other jurisdictions can do stuff he can't...

I, however, salute you!

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

Thank you, David! It's often said that "a picture is worth a thousand words.".. and what is a gesture but a picture in living motion... :)... I appreciate your acknowledgement... and with mutual respect and admiration, I return your salute, Sir!

Jenna - thought you might be interested in a "super-flu" pop-up flu vax clinic for potential future writings that's sponsored by the Manhattan Borough President.

A friend in NYC received an email from the Manhattan Borough President who is offering a free flu shot clinic today to, as the email title proclaims, "Protect Yourself and Your Neighbors Against the 'Super-Flu'". Most egregious fear mongering line in it: "Even if you’ve already had the flu this season, doctors warn that you may still be vulnerable to the second strain."

Email contents follow and readable at this link

https://mailchi.mp/1ed8da9afdf3/protect-yourself-and-your-neighbors-against-the-super-flu?e=65688ad92b

"Dear Neighbor,

We are currently experiencing what experts are calling a “super flu” outbreak, with a significant surge in cases across New York State and a possible second strain emerging. Children and older adults are among those most at risk. Even if you’ve already had the flu this season, doctors warn that you may still be vulnerable to the second strain.

That’s why I’m hosting a Free Flu Shot Clinic tomorrow — Friday, January 16, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. — at the Manhattan Borough President’s Northern Manhattan Office, located at 431 West 125th Street. I’m grateful to our partners at Ryan Health for making this possible.

As always, if there’s a problem or concern I can help with, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Stay healthy,

Brad Hoylman-Sigal

Manhattan Borough President"

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

That is literal insanity! Thanks for sharing.🩷

Janet's avatar

My first impulse if I lived there would be to go out and about coughing as much as I could.

AJoy's avatar

BH-S is and was the worst NYS Senator in Albany and behind all the c-19, flu, sex ed, pro noun language and no parental consent needed bills in NY!!! Horrible person and now Manhattan Borough President. Evil man who once told John Gilmore of Autism Action Network, that his jab injured child was just one of the "consequences of protecting the greater good".

SeeingTruth's avatar

Thanks for the info. The other thought is how much is he being paid and by whom.

Question: any info on why he's not in state govt anymore?

AJoy's avatar

All Dems are being paid with kick backs etc from big Pharma and more. Supposably he left his position to spend more time with his two children he and his “husband “ adopted.

PEL's avatar

So take a shot that was developed three years ago and bears no relation to this strain. Yeah that makes all the sense.

Juju's avatar

“As always, if there’s a problem or concern I can help with, please don’t hesitate to reach out.” I would have reached out to him as he could help by not spreading false information and using his fear porn, and I would specifically state that.

SeeingTruth's avatar

Exactly! Suggested the same to my friend....and would have been great to get some protestors out there.

Trump always takes the bait, he can never rise above the childish nonsense that these attention seekers crave so badly. Rewarding bad behavior with money is how these unhinged idiots operate. It’s become a “I double dog dare you” situation with a huge payoff if the heckler is successful. It’s very disturbing to see hatred manifesting into a deadly virus, one that seems to be contagious if you’re a liberal lunatic.
