Yesterday, I spent approximately 2,000 words explaining why I believe voting still matters—even (or especially) if you think our elections are rigged, politicians make pond scum look like an evolutionary achievement, and the whole circus is controlled by a shadowy cabal of billionaire psychopaths.
If that post didn’t inspire you to develop a sudden interest in the location of your nearest polling place, I invite you to pull up a chair.
Because while y’all were trying to wrap your heads around Vee being a he, a researcher named Jennica Pounds, who goes by DataRepublican on X, was exposing what she alleges is an ambitious plan by progressives to basically plunge America into civil war should they mop the floor with Republicans in the midterms.
Pounds is a deaf, nonverbal software engineer and AI genius who gained a massive following on X by using her wicked data-analyzing skills to investigate sketchy government spending and the dirty dealings of federal agencies, nonprofits, and political organizations. After Elon Musk called her “worth following” and Charlie Kirk upped it to must, the number-cruncher was quietly hired by the actual Department of Defense. In other words, she’s not some anonymous bot posting rage bait from her mom’s basement.
On Sunday, Pounds announced she was in possession of what she called an “enormous archive” containing thousands of transcripts and hundreds of recordings that reveal a coordinated plot involving the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), Indivisible, the 50501 movement, and organizers of the No Kings protests. According to Pounds, the plan isn’t simply to win elections. It’s to use the aftermath of a hoped-for midterm bloodbath to rip our current system of government down to the studs.

Here’s the alleged timeline: First, Democrats sweep the midterms and gain control of Congress. Next, DSA-aligned activists become what Pounds calls the “foot soldiers” in sustained confrontations, deliberately escalating tensions until Trump invokes the Insurrection Act, authorizing the use of federal troops to suppress domestic unrest. That delightful little constitutional crisis would allegedly trigger a coordinated effort to delegitimize the federal government and transfer political power to the nation’s governors, who would now, conveniently, be mostly Democrats. Because obviously, democracy is safest when the people running it are replaced with the people rioting about it.
Then comes the grand finale: use the resulting chaos to convince Americans that the only solution is to take a sledgehammer to the entire apparatus. You know, by implementing some of the small stuff DSA candidates have salivated over, like abolishing the Senate, rewriting the Constitution, and extending full voting rights to illegals and criminals.
So, basically: win Congress, provoke a national emergency, declare Washington illegitimate, and offer to rebuild the entire American government from scratch to [*checks notes*] appease a “young and brown” demographic. I’m sure the new one will be much better.
And all it’s going to take is one teensy color revolution!

The group leading it—the one recruiting the NGOs and nonprofits and professional protestors into one big, dysfunctional family of malcontents—calls itself the United Democracy Alliance. In case you were worried they may not be sufficiently professional or organized, recordings show that another group of some 1,600 former military, intelligence, and diplomatic officials that goes by National Security Leaders for America helped coordinate the whole thing. And according to Pounds, the alliance’s intellectual leader is none other than political scientist and “nonviolent civil resistance” expert Erica Chenoweth.
Chenoweth, who predictably uses grammatically incorrect pronouns, is best known for developing the “3.5% rule,” a maxim based on her research showing that historically, virtually every campaign that has managed to mobilize just 3.5% of a country’s population achieved its political goals.
In other words, you don’t need to convince the whole country to sign up for your little regime-change project. The combined populations of just America’s two largest cities—out of roughly 19,500 incorporated municipalities—will do. If someone promises to bring donuts, it could be all over.
Best of all, the hopeful insurgents have decided to turn the whole thing into a multinational team-building exercise. In recordings Pounds highlighted last November, former USAID personnel discussed moving their comms off government systems and onto encrypted Signal chats so they could build what one participant called a “global anti-authoritarian movement.” They also floated plans for creating new “socio-political economic governance systems,” which is quite a mouthful for folks who supposedly just want to save democracy.
Want to know what a nationwide outbreak of revolutionary enthusiasm might look like? Have a peek at the “mostly peaceful” protests currently rocking France. And London. And Brussels. And Milan. The Babylon Bee called the chaos a “massive campaign ad for Republicans.” They’re not wrong.
In France alone, more than 2,400 people have been arrested and nearly 1,000 police officers have been injured. Thousands of businesses have been looted or destroyed. The historic town hall in Limoges—a stunning architectural masterpiece that survived two world wars and generations of political upheaval—has been reduced to a very expensive pile of ashes. But hey, as long as you made your point.
According to The New York freaking Times, French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu blamed a “shadowy network” of far-left instigators for attempting to orchestrate “a profound disorder in the country leading up to the presidential election.”
And apparently the similarities extend beyond the preferred method of expressing ideological indigestion. A Fox News investigation has linked more than 50 activist groups to the revolutionary festivities in France—including communist, socialist, pro-Palestinian, and Islamist organizations. And wouldn’t you know it? A whole steaming bunch of them are connected to anti-ICE and pro-Palestinian protests here in the U.S.
“There’s this global network of socialists and communists that are working with anyone that they can in order to bring mayhem to any country that they can,” explained senior investigative editor Asra Nomani.
Can we talk about the irony of fighting global authoritarianism by assembling a secret international coalition of aspiring authoritarians?
Of course, there’s a stratospheric difference between plotting a revolution and pulling one off. And this particular alleged coup d'état is packed with prerequisites: if activists can provoke enough turmoil, if Trump responds by invoking the Insurrection Act, if the public can be persuaded that the only obvious solution is Extreme Makeover: Democracy Edition. That’s a lot of ifs. And practically speaking, I don’t think you just “dissolve the federal government” with some pixie dust and a party majority. But that doesn’t mean a spectacular amount of collateral misery couldn’t unfold between Step One: Win Congress and Step Six: Congrats on your new government!
France is providing a deeply disturbing illustration of what widespread, organized political unrest can look like. If we can’t foil the progressive plot, we may be watching it from our own front porches.
But remember: every single step in this alleged overthrow hinges on the first: if Democrats win Congress.
Maybe you can’t vote your way out of tyranny, but you sure as hell can not-vote your way into it.
POLL REDUX FOR FINICKY PHONES:
If DataRepulican’s allegations are legit, how worried are you about this plan?
Already packing for Poland.
Thanks for ruining my Tuesday.
They’ll never pull it off.
REPUBLICANS ARE KEEPING CONGRESS.

I’ve known the DSA types for a long time. We should take them seriously. Yet their weakness is their arrogance. They believe regular people are stupid. Let’s prove them wrong.
I’m not packing to go anywhere. I’ll fight to the death on my own front lawn if need be, and I’ve got better aim than these antifa monkeys. Paid agitators are the first to run when they see the guy next to them get his face blown off.
