Yes I have an AK 12 that holds 10 shells. Crazy fun, But it is a boat anchor. I've been hunting for the 20g version of the Mossburg 88 with the security barrel, but those are a rare breed. Ultimately I wanted the security barrel and the full length barrel in 20g to swap for hunting, but I may have to just settle for the 12g. Mossburg actually sell the 12g version as a combo kit.

The Trump accounts are only government programs in name only. Actually, they are only Trump accounts and end when his term is over. All the gov't. does is seed the first thousand. After thatt, it's up to the parents or the child to add to the account. They aren't mandatory, like other gov't programs. Social Security, though, should get a pass since it's main thrust is that you have to earn it by having a job. Sadly, Congress decided to tap into the SS fund. But Trump accounts are not tied to a law, or Congress, or any government entity, but ARE tied to the stock market. With our current low birth rate, and the large number of young people who died from the covid shots, and who were left infertile by them or who have chosen not to have children, Social Security is doomed.
Not really ok with it. I’ve paid taxes for schools for decades and had never had health insurance until Medicare which I don’t use. Not sure what the answer is about all this.
I worked all the time and paid the max deductions every year but non-working spouses get social security at half their husband’s without having invested similar. There is no perfect system. But between what I paid in plus what my employer paid I would have a heck of a lot more money in a private account.
Yes, I paid for schools, even though we sent our kids to catholic school (until high school, since it was double the cost) but that never bothered me too much since I thought back then it's better to have public schools than not to have them, but paying insurance premiums that won't cover less invasive/alternative treatments seems wrong. I anticipate medicare will be the same.
But then doing the math for SS. It's theft by government, which means we are not really free. We need to at least have a choice.
I can't see SS as a kind of theft only because workers take more money out than they ever put in and there are annual increases depending on inflation. For many elderly, it's all they've got.

I'm waiting until after Labor Day when voters start paying attention and then I'll watch how the Republicans respond. The ads write themselves, beginning with using video of Democrats' failure to clap or stand during Trump's State of the Union. The average voter doesn't pay attention in the summer.

Also, we need to take into account 'Low (political) Intelligent Voter.' I'm afraid most voters might get duped into voting Demoncratic. Since most voters are far from rich, slogans such as: "Take from the wealthy and give to the poor," might sound reasonable to a LIV unless they understand the long-term implications. I have another theory; a lot of Americans are irredeemably lazy and stupid. My other notion is that these Demo-commie politicians and DSA operatives all sound very seditious to me. They are literally seeking to undermine and overthrow the US government and not secretly. I would suggest labeling them domestic terrorists or enemy combatants, sending the military to arrest them and toss them in Gitmo for tribunals. How many signs are needed before action is taken?

I think Bill Maher is right on in his assessment. But I also think he has a tremendous need to be thought of as right and ahead of the curve. I used to be a fan but am no longer. Once in a while he gets it right. I certainly hope that people will be smart enough to know socialism doesn’t really work if you look at history. We have enough socialism already with schools and police and fire which is a form of socialism, which I’m ok with.
Are you ok with coerced socialism like Social Security and Medicare? Especially since GenX is going to get royally screwed with a likely 25% discount by 2032 (and they keep pushing the year up.)
How can we claim to be free when we can’t even invest our hard-earned dollars as we choose? The Amish can fill out form 4029 and not pay social security and Medicare since they are from “a recognized religious group that has existed continuously since December 31, 1950.”

The Trump accounts are only government programs in name only. Actually, they are only Trump accounts and end when his term is over. All the gov't. does is seed the first thousand. After thatt, it's up to the parents or the child to add to the account. They aren't mandatory, like other gov't programs. Social Security, though, should get a pass since it's main thrust is that you have to earn it by having a job. Sadly, Congress decided to tap into the SS fund. But Trump accounts are not tied to a law, or Congress, or any government entity, but ARE tied to the stock market. With our current low birth rate, and the large number of young people who died from the covid shots, and who were left infertile by them or who have chosen not to have children, Social Security is doomed.
Not really ok with it. I’ve paid taxes for schools for decades and had never had health insurance until Medicare which I don’t use. Not sure what the answer is about all this.
I worked all the time and paid the max deductions every year but non-working spouses get social security at half their husband’s without having invested similar. There is no perfect system. But between what I paid in plus what my employer paid I would have a heck of a lot more money in a private account.
Yes, I paid for schools, even though we sent our kids to catholic school (until high school, since it was double the cost) but that never bothered me too much since I thought back then it's better to have public schools than not to have them, but paying insurance premiums that won't cover less invasive/alternative treatments seems wrong. I anticipate medicare will be the same.
But then doing the math for SS. It's theft by government, which means we are not really free. We need to at least have a choice.

I can't see SS as a kind of theft only because workers take more money out than they ever put in and there are annual increases depending on inflation. For many elderly, it's all they've got.

I was one of those Independents who had to choose a party in order to vote in a primary here in Florida during Covid. So of course I chose the less insane one. It would probably have been better for family relations had I declared myself a Democrat and voted Republican anyway. Also, I don't understand why One has to declare a party to vote at all in the primaries. Who decided that? The Democrats? Yeah… I should probably go down that rabbit hole unless someone out there can give me the lowdown.
