Do you not understand these are not issued for circulation? Are you truly that clueless?

DDForTruth's avatar

Pretty sure figuring out what the "L" stands for ain't gonna be hard on this one!

JUST sayin'...

CatsRtheBest's avatar

"Loser" or "Liberal?" Wait...is there a difference? LingOL

Heather B's avatar

only in the spelling. 😂

The Great Resist's avatar

I love that you pinned that comment 😂👏👏🤣

L.'s avatar

According to my bank these are a commemorative issue, not circulation. So, you and yahoo are calling DeptTreasury liars. Got it.

GregWA's avatar

Read the story: commemorative issue was just a way of getting around the rules on putting a living person's face on them.

According to Grok, about half of the 16 million coins minted so far have been sold in collector sales (25 and 100 coin lots). The other half will be circulated.

Now, the US Mint might be lying about that, it's part of the Government after all and there are so many liberals in the Government that we will never be able to trust them.

But it's just as anyone might be lying about anything...oh, is that what the "L" stands for?

CatsRtheBest's avatar

From the US Treasury X post:

“ Available for purchase today at 12PM ET: 2026 President Donald J. Trump $1 Coin. _These coins are also in circulation_, so check your pocket change. Collect them today! #CoinCollecting #America250

bit.ly/4wMEEbC”

Helps to do a little research or click on her links in the story before you accuse someone of being “clueless” less you look clueless yourself.

L.'s avatar

So asking my bank about them was the wrong thing to do. Talk about clueless.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

Hey, I know! Try this: "Whoops, my bad. I guess I got some bogus info. Apologies."

Laura Kasner's avatar

Just called my bank. My banker “googled” it because they have had no communication from the higher ups on these coins.

I cautioned her about using the Google. 😂

CatsRtheBest's avatar

So you continue to deny what the *US Treasury" said? And the additional link that Jenna posted above? OK, believe your bank, that's OK. It's not like this is a major, life-altering issue.

kittynana's avatar

@L- does the L stand for loser? Because.....

Tonya's avatar

Jenna, be reasonable. Who has a *single* mystery key in their junk drawer?

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

* busted lying

GregWA's avatar

I used to have a skeleton key in my drawer. It was from my "YOUT". The house I grew up in had skeleton keyed doors, inside and the front door. The key I had was for the inside doors.

At least I thought it was. I'd had it so long, I'd forgotten if this was the key from my yout or if it was a thrift shop find that reminded me of it.

Then a couple of my sisters and I visited that old house. The new owners were kind enough to invite us in and have a look around. What a hoot that was!

Anyway, I gave them the key...and it worked! AND...we gave them a skeleton key for the front door that my brother had held onto...it worked too. They never used that front door lock, just had a deadbolt installed above it. Now they have both locks.

115 year old house. A baby by NE standards or Europe, but for the Pac NW, kind of old.

Imagine for a minute if you will, if Biden or Kamala was President and instead of using their time and effort wisely to do things like ending the ongoing clot shots, helping the vaccine injured, stopping the 5G AI surveillance state roll out, or just do anything that remotely helps the average American, they instead decided to waste time and resources on printing their faces on coins to make you love/hate them more. 🙄

Capitalism isn't the death cult. The ruling predator class is the actual death cult in charge and they are mocking all of us while we continue to tune into the bread and circus show.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

I’m not going to lie, they do provide endless evidence to support your argument…😂

Although Trump is actually getting stuff done. A lot of stuff. More in two years than most presidents in eight.

No, not everything we'd like.

No, not by permanent law-making, unfortunately.

So he gets to do silly, arrogant, harmless stuff like this if he wants to.

Vee's avatar

Yea, what kind of stuff? Going to war with Iran? Giving billions to the AI surveillance state? Continuing to kill and injury Americans with his beautiful death shots? Hold anyone in government accountable?

And maybe make drug companies liable for adverse effects. Erase the liability shield.

KC & the Sunshine's avatar

I’m hoping and praying this occurs right after mid terms. Meanwhile, the onus is on parents and themselves to read, research. Don’t get vaccines until they are safe. NONE of them are safe.

Richard schoenenberger's avatar

Hoping RFK is still working on it..:behind the scenes hopefully.

Mike Myhre's avatar

I have to agree with you Vee.

It is all a distraction. And there isn't anything more distracting than Trump being a scapegoat for everything in government. A one stop shop for haters. For supporters, there are small things that they can claim as accomplishments, but nothing substantial.

We are still in endless wars. We still have runaway inflation. We still have big pharma owning everything.

Brian Wilson's avatar

KC & the Sunshine's avatar

We have an entire box— an old pencil box.

I worked the cash register at Kresge's for $1.10 per hour.... Teehee!

GregWA's avatar

Does that mean you're over 30? :)

Anna Lafferty's avatar

Yes, I can no longer claim I'm 29 - sighhhhhh

CatsRtheBest's avatar

LingOL!

GregWA's avatar

Right after I buy some of these coins, I'm buying a cane. That look (shaking it) is just too great to not have at the ready!

Jake B's avatar

Oh my, I'm getting old.

David Baldwin's avatar

It's the first version of a modern variety store from the early 1900's. The stores were usually small and used to charge mostly 5 and 10 cents for things. Kind of like today's Dollar Store (where a significant number of items are more than a dollar). GC Murphy's, Woolworth's, etc were the most popular. They evolved into K-Mart, Murphy Mart, etc. Just think of a Walmart and downsize the square footage 10 times. I'm thinking today's stores should be called "5 and 10 Dollar" stores.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

Our Woolworths had a little diner counter where you could get a grilled cheese sandwich for like $.50. Oh and Ben Franklin and TG&Y were the best for candy. 😉

Anna Lafferty's avatar

I always popped a balloon at Woolworth's counter to try to get a 1 cent banana split!

Jennifer McDermott's avatar

They always had a good candy section. Floors were always uneven, wooden floors sometimes a food counter where old weird men hung out.

GregWA's avatar

Funny! I'll bet those "old weird men" were just guys in their 50s. But to a kid, that's an old man. And all "old people" are weird.

Or, they really were weird?

Richard schoenenberger's avatar

Yes and the aroma when you walked in.

GregWA's avatar

The store or the old weird men at the counter (Jennifer's comment)?

Marlene Swann's avatar

We should all spend our Trump Dollar coins at the dollar store!

Mike Lee's avatar

Can't, my local "Dollar Store" is now the buck and a quarter store.

When I was 17 I loaded delivery trucks for 95 cents an hour.

David Baldwin's avatar

You mean I shouldn't whip out my Susan B. Anthony and Sacagawea dollar coins as tips anymore! (Not to mention my Eisenhower dollar and Standing Eagly dollar coins either.) I'm just going to have to go to my junk drawer with the "dead batteries, some dried-out pens, and a single mystery key" (Jenna nailed that one!) and add those Trump dollars too! Looks like I'll have to move again so I can at least move that "stuff" so that they may see the light of day!

I can't wait to go to my bank next month, buy a roll of Trump coins and put them in the junk drawer, too. BUT, since these coins have a purpose I'll probably use them "liberally."

The Great Santini's avatar

There’s only one unidentifiable key in your junk drawer? How did you ever pull that off?

Jennifer McDermott's avatar

You forgot the unending pile of used twist ties, floral life packets and old dried out rubber bands.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

All of the above plus a few rusty razor blades (actually), several of the little plastic tabs you use to close a bag of bread (WHY THO?) and a stack of sticky notes that have lost their stick. #What’sInYOURJunkDrawer

Carrie R Meyer's avatar

Thanks for the hilarity. I hope my local bank gets the coins soon so I can hand them out at our Thanksgiving family gathering. Only after dessert, of course, since I do like turkey and pumpkin pie.

Tracy Sanders's avatar

Keep cash alive! Coins are real money instead of debt instruments from Federal Reserve private banking cartel.

Carrie R Meyer's avatar

Excellent point. I'm always lecturing my under 60 friends about the dangers of letting cash be replaced with digital currency. To most of them, unless something is in their phone, they have no use for it.

GregWA's avatar

It will be interesting to see what the cell phone addicts do when the lights go out.

If the Green New Deal crap continues (in spite of Trump's best efforts, big solar projects are proceeding), we will blackouts like CA, no lights, no power for anything...including cell towers.

What if that went on for a day? A week?

I'm almost hope we find out, except for the people who would be truly harmed (hospitals backup power goes out, old and/or poor freezing in winter, sweating in summer, etc.)

MarciaT's avatar

I had to say 'sorry I'm British' (I'm not but hubs is) because they only put living people (kings/queens, living golfers) on money - can't figure out why it's such a problem here. . . although I do think it's hilarious that libs will be so upset. If only I went to a coffee shop once in a while . . .

Donna in MO's avatar

During the 2024 campaign, when we ate at a sit down place, my hubby and I left tips in cash with a note - no tax on tips - vote Trump. We don't go to liberal coffee shops though, we have a couple of conservative owned ones in our town, but still, might find an opportunity to leave a tip with a lib if we get our hands on some Trump coinage.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

Triggering libs is my one of my favorite things; wearing a pro Trump t-shirt to the grocery store is always a winning bet. I have several: a shirt that says "I'm voting for the Felon and the Hillbilly, (which triggered one local liberal to write a letter to the editor of our newspaper), and another shirt that says "No one cares if you're offended." The Trump coins look to be even more fun. Someone should write a book on how easy trolling liberals is.

Daryce Morris's avatar

Meh is n response to these coins…but him trolling? You’re dead on I think

Liz LaSorte's avatar

And Trump wants people to vote for the GOP in the mid-terms? Bribes of 5k when Congress is supposed to hold the purse and more BS like this. Get ready for impeachment in 2027.

But the bigger picture is to look away from what 2/3 of Americans are pissed about. AI says: The U.S. war with Iran (which began on February 28, 2026) has cost the U.S. Department of Defense an estimated $43.6 billion as of September 3, 2026, with ongoing operations averaging $2 billion to $3 billion per month.

And we pay a trillion dollars just on the interest of the debt.

Carrie R Meyer's avatar

😐 you're right. Trump has not lived up to his promises and has sold out to many special interest groups (AIPAC, Big Tech, Big Oil, Industrial Military Complex) ... But, as I always tell myself -- he's so much better than Kamala and those were our only 2 choices.

I followed RFKJR and Tulsi to the right side of the aisle in 2024 and personally find Trump to be a bit obnoxious, but the fact that we have RFKJR at HHS makes the Trump $1 coin go into the category of Trump Trolling, which just rolls off my back. I plan to buy at least one to keep in my junk drawer.

Liz LaSorte's avatar

And those were our choices - we are toast. Kamala is a vapid DEI hire who has done nothing but work in the government. I told myself at least Trump built his empire in the private sector. And at least we are not forced to pay medicaid for "gender affirming care" for minors on the federal level now.

Leskunque Lepew's avatar

43 billion for Iran......

Over a 100 billion to Youcrain for what?

Liz LaSorte's avatar

To launch WW III?

CatsRtheBest's avatar

Your comment is so liberal-like. Taking a matter and then somehow expanding it and glomming onto things that have no relevance. Blowing up a volcano over a mole hill. What I call "a glob of what's the point, anyway?"

Timothy Winey's avatar

I need a more fiscally sound reason than that.

Meddling Kid's avatar

How about…you can also take off your sock, fill it with about 20 Trump dollars, and then proceed to whoopass on smelly blue-haired commies just like Homey D Clown.

Compelling enough reason now?
