Read America 3.0 Great book. A bit dated (15-20 years old)...I need to re-read it. But it talks about a controlled implosion as the next evolutionary step in the American Experiment. It's either that or something much more abrupt, out of control, and seriously damaging. The book is highly optimistic.
Part of the controlled implosion is States breaking up: Texas is a Republic of 5 States; it's in their Constitution. Greater Idaho is trying to peel off Eastern OR. I want Eastern WA to follow suit. Upstate NY is sane; the rest is not. On and on.
Sadly "we the people" have been so dumbed down by a non functional educational system, and the fascination with AI slop across social media (and social media as well) that I doubt waking up is possible.

Great post, Gwyneth. My take: it's the mindset that we saw in Big Public Health during the recent troubles (for those in Portland I'm referring to the COVID Scam). That mindset is: "if this intervention helps more than it hurts, then those who are hurt don't matter and in fact if we let them derail this, there will be more hurt. Oh, and our experts understand perfectly what the risks and benefits are."
The "intervention" could be anything: a genetic mutation drug, "clean" energy, driving inflation up or down, bombing someone, murdering US Citizens who happen to be in the wrong place overseas (looking at you Barack!), killing ICE (internal combustion engine, not the heroes deporting illegals), etc., etc.
I also live in Portland. The reference is old, tiresome and does not serve. Some of us are here to transcend the obvious failures, and restore sanity. This coming from someone who has had the name Karen, for 81 years!
The problem is that “the government” is made up of people. Some elected. Some bureaucrats who stay in for life. Many are evil and really don’t care in the slightest about us. Some are just not very smart. And some, thankfully, really do care and try to make things right. Unfortunately, they are outnumbered by the rest. But if we, the people, keep electing those who lie to us, then who’s to blame. Get rid of the bureaucrats. And elect honest men and women. We ARE supposed to be a constitutional republic. Run by “we the people.” Sadly, there are plenty of people who don’t want to know the truth. They’re content being lied to.

Yesterday I read a substack article that posited lead from leaded gasoline was the main driver of heart disease in the 20th century. Not cholesterol, not tobacco, not stress…lead. And it was fairly convincing too.

Well, right evildoer, wrong mechanism. Lead cause of heart disease in the US is pre-diabetes and obesity which are caused by following government dietary advice which turns out to be just marketing from the sugar,wheat and seed oil industries. We got rid of leaded gasoline in this country in the 1970s. By 1974/75 almost all new cars had catalytic converters that required unleaded gasoline. By 1996 it was illegal in on-road vehicles. In the early 80’s the G was telling us to quit eating meat and butter, to eat more bread and seed oils. So, your culprit disappeared, but the real problem was the diet. Still is.
It always has. And lead paint in houses was the biggest source. That’s been removed as a source too.
So, back to the question. What is the leading cause of heart disease? It isn’t lead, it is diet. Can lead be a contributor? Yes. But there are many others ahead of it. For example smoke. Smoking is also a significant cause of heart disease. But smoking has declined. The diet problem has been accelerating since the 70s.
I’d love to read that article. I’m very curious to see how they controlled for every other factor, like those you listed, and everything else. I’m highly skeptical of “this disease was caused by X” type studies and articles.
It's been a while since I read Malcolm Kendrick's book about CVD but I liked one analogy in there (I think it was that book?? ...) The CVD starts with damage to the endothelium, analogous to a chip in the car paint. Eventually, if not healed, the rust sets in. So there are many things that cause the chip in the paint. A key from an X, a gravel, a belt buckle while loading the surfboard on top of the car, and shopping cart, etc. So many things instigate the CVD ...
Flunked two semesters of Organic Chemistry Lecture in undergraduate school and had to take them both over... all the while getting a A and A+ in both of the associated lab classes while flunking the lectures... but I persevered.... and was a Chemist in Industry for 35 years... Organic Chemistry was the most difficult class that I ever took... Went on to gain a graduate degrees in P-Chem... and Mathematics.
I found Math easy. I found physics easier. I found chemistry unpleasant and organic chemistry a major pain in the butt. Of course, none of them were nearly as hard as heat transfer, boiling, and two-phase flow. Biology, true biology (not that High School stuff), takes Organic Chemistry to the next level and beyond. Just like 2 phase flow it teaches humility to those who are its true students.
I was a Biology major, and switched to Chemistry in my third year and had to basically start all over.. all because I fell in love with the Krebs Cycle... LOL!
I LOVED Calc III... Vector calculus... I had a solid A going into the final exam... took a piece of road dust in my left eye while walking to class on the day of the final, and flunked the final because I couldn't see... took a C as my final grade... the professor was the type who believed "Don't explain, don't complain."... My revenge was an MS in P-Chem! :)

MNDO studies in molecular configuration was my bread and butter in my studies... spent 35 years in instrumental analysis... Mol Vib, AE, AA spectroscopy... I LOVE Chemistry! As a friend once told me, those that chose unwisely by choice, wouldn't have been happy in Heaven anyway, all full of love, joy, happiness where there are no more tears, pain or suffering like that.
I know many in just my immediate vicinity where they are not 'happy' unless making, and going out of their way to do so, everyone around them miserable. It's like they thrive on it.

Anyone who has worked for the Federal government knows how inept they are. The people delivering the message might not even know they are lying. They are just reciting the talking points from their "briefing book." (I prepared way too many of these for Fauci...I did not knowingly lie in any of them, but in hindsight many of my comments were likely exaggerated based on the info I was given...in regards to advances in science at the NIAID)
Totally agree with you - the phrase "need to know" and "good enough for government work" come to mind. The average person who has not worked in government or in large public companies, has no idea the amount of mediocrity and outright ineptitude there is, nor the politics. To assume any level of competence is natural, but misguided, sadly.
And yet, so many sheeple still feel the government looks after them and actually cares. “Not my guy! He really, really, really cares about <insert grievance here>, which is sooooo important! Like, major important! He’d never lie!”
The Judge is half right. He just didn’t want to discuss the alternative path. The Constitution does give us the tools to deal with this problem. The 1st Amendment empowers us to criticize our government and find the truth. The vote the power to change that government. And the 2nd Amendment the means to remove them if they will not go.
As John Adams noted, 'Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.'
The problem is that we have allowed immoral people and petty tyrants to occupy high office in our government (e.g., Fauci). We tolerate a Congress that will not do its job. We embrace and allow into our nation people who are unworthy of being our fellow citizens or even residents (ref: Biden, Obama & illegal immigration). We have a political party that is focused on graft and corruption and that will do anything to retain their power to include lying cheating & allying with foreign enemies. (Democrats, DSA, Socialist, Marxists, Jihais).
So if you want a better government, vote for it, so you won’t have to take up arms to fight for it. But, be ready to take up arms, if needs be. Don’t elect the Party of Corruption. Don’t elect people hostile to your rights. Don’t vote for people who are the allies of foreign enemies. Insist on good candidates. Weed out the ones who once in office prove to be just feather merchants or corrupt go-alongs. Frankly I think recent events have shown that we are making progress on this front.
Unfortunately most elections are rigged. So until that is remedied, we can “vote” all we want when those in power already know whom the “winner” will be.
Well, we could have had the SAVE Act except for the RINO failure theater. It would have helped. In the meantime, make the win to big to rig. Worked in 2024. Make it work this year. Go Vote. No excuses.

I've been an attorney since 1982, and I can say that it's tricky finding a specific constitutional right on which to sue over some of these issues. So, here's something I've been thinking about, and it's definitely something that can be used as a defense against mandated vaxxes.
First, learn more about the Constitution. A good place to begin is to go to JBS.org and its "The Constitution Is the Solution" series of videos and watch them. In 2020, when I did that, I learned things I didn't learn in law school. Second, get a copy of the Bill of Rights, and read it. Keep a copy at hand and re-read it.
Next: did you know that there are constitutional rights that are NOT specifically named in the Bill of Rights? There are, and you can thank James Madison for that. He was afraid that if they made a list of specifically enumerated rights, like the right to bear arms and the right to freedom of speech, that in the future a court could decide that only those rights were promised -- and nothing else.
Now look at the Ninth Amendment, the one Madison insisted be added: "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people." What important right do we all have that's not listed by name in the Bill of Rights?
The right of self-defense. And what circumstantial evidence supports that very important right? The Second amendment. Why did the people keep the First Amendment right to free speech and the Second Amendment to bear arms? Both those rights directly relate to the right to self-defense.
So, when a government knowingly lies to you about something that presents a clear danger to your health, you can argue that it's violated your right to self-defense. The problem then becomes the burden of persuasion (not proof). When you are the person suing, the plaintiff, YOU have the burden of persuasion.
That's why, in cases about our right to say NO to health mandates, it's better not to sue the government, but to do what we want and make the government sue us, so the government carries the burden of persuasion.
Physicians for Informed Consent (PIC) has a new book, the "Silver Booklet," Vaccines and the Diseases They Target." This book compares the risks from diseases versus the risk from the vaccines for those diseases. Guess what? When you look at the charts, the risks from the vaccines are higher than from the diseases.
See where I'm going now? If the risk from a vaccine for measles is higher than the risk from measles, and if you have a constitutional right to self-defense, then when your school district's or the federal government's mandated vaccination is riskier than the disease it's supposed to prevent, you have a right to self-defense, meaning to say no to the vaccine. (Your right to self-defense includes the defense of others, i.e., your children.)
Ah, but what about the government's right to defend the public's health? We are so used to the idea to get vaxxed to protect others -- but that's anti-constitutional. There's a reason the constitution talks about INDIVIDUAL rights and liberties. America is not a communitarian country. No one can be forced to do anything to help another person. You cannot be forced to give blood. You cannot be forced to donate an organ. You cannot be forced to give up your own health, or to even just to RISK giving up your own health or your child's health.
In California, I helped thousands of people successfully say no to the COVID medical experiment without losing their jobs, without paying attorneys, and without the help of their unions when the unions threw them under the bus. I did it by arming them with the Constitution and encouraging them to engage in organized refusal to comply.
Defend the Constitution and it can defend you.
DO NOT DRINK THE KOOLDAID AND CALL FOR A CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION! OUR ENEMIES KNOW THEY NEED TO CHANGE IT, SO THEY HAVE ALREADY REWRITTEN WHAT THEY WANT INSTEAD.

I'm not sure my son-in-law sees it. But he's kind of out of our control. We still regularly talk to our daughter about it. My high school aged son? He's harder to get through to but we reiterate it to him almost daily. I dread him going off to college and getting completely brainwashed (and have told him that repeatedly). The problem is that “the government” is made up of people. Some elected. Some bureaucrats who stay in for life. Many are evil and really don’t care in the slightest about us. Some are just not very smart. And some, thankfully, really do care and try to make things right. Unfortunately, they are outnumbered by the rest. But if we, the people, keep electing those who lie to us, then who’s to blame. Get rid of the bureaucrats. And elect honest men and women. We ARE supposed to be a constitutional republic. Run by “we the people.” Sadly, there are plenty of people who don’t want to know the truth. They’re content being lied to.
I subscribe to the theory that if voting made a difference, they wouldn't let us do it.

Yesterday I read a substack article that posited lead from leaded gasoline was the main driver of heart disease in the 20th century. Not cholesterol, not tobacco, not stress…lead. And it was fairly convincing too.
I’m about a small handful of “health articles that point the guilty finger at government” away from a vigilante life of crime.
I’ve always felt the calling to be a vigilante. So many causes out there that I feel genuinely could use my assistance. Shall we form a team?

Well, right evildoer, wrong mechanism. Lead cause of heart disease in the US is pre-diabetes and obesity which are caused by following government dietary advice which turns out to be just marketing from the sugar,wheat and seed oil industries. We got rid of leaded gasoline in this country in the 1970s. By 1974/75 almost all new cars had catalytic converters that required unleaded gasoline. By 1996 it was illegal in on-road vehicles. In the early 80’s the G was telling us to quit eating meat and butter, to eat more bread and seed oils. So, your culprit disappeared, but the real problem was the diet. Still is.

It always has. And lead paint in houses was the biggest source. That’s been removed as a source too.
So, back to the question. What is the leading cause of heart disease? It isn’t lead, it is diet. Can lead be a contributor? Yes. But there are many others ahead of it. For example smoke. Smoking is also a significant cause of heart disease. But smoking has declined. The diet problem has been accelerating since the 70s.

It's been a while since I read Malcolm Kendrick's book about CVD but I liked one analogy in there (I think it was that book?? ...) The CVD starts with damage to the endothelium, analogous to a chip in the car paint. Eventually, if not healed, the rust sets in. So there are many things that cause the chip in the paint. A key from an X, a gravel, a belt buckle while loading the surfboard on top of the car, and shopping cart, etc. So many things instigate the CVD ...
Keep in mind these diseases and their alleged cures are developed by biologists.
Who studies biology? People for whom chemistry is too hard.
Who studies chemistry? People for whom physics is too hard.
Who studies physics? People for whom mathematics is too hard.

Flunked two semesters of Organic Chemistry Lecture in undergraduate school and had to take them both over... all the while getting a A and A+ in both of the associated lab classes while flunking the lectures... but I persevered.... and was a Chemist in Industry for 35 years... Organic Chemistry was the most difficult class that I ever took... Went on to gain a graduate degrees in P-Chem... and Mathematics.

Yeah. It's only about as difficult as introductory physics, certainly no match for Calc III. No comparison to advanced physics and mathematics.
I found Math easy. I found physics easier. I found chemistry unpleasant and organic chemistry a major pain in the butt. Of course, none of them were nearly as hard as heat transfer, boiling, and two-phase flow. Biology, true biology (not that High School stuff), takes Organic Chemistry to the next level and beyond. Just like 2 phase flow it teaches humility to those who are its true students.
I was a Biology major, and switched to Chemistry in my third year and had to basically start all over.. all because I fell in love with the Krebs Cycle... LOL!
I LOVED Calc III... Vector calculus... I had a solid A going into the final exam... took a piece of road dust in my left eye while walking to class on the day of the final, and flunked the final because I couldn't see... took a C as my final grade... the professor was the type who believed "Don't explain, don't complain."... My revenge was an MS in P-Chem! :)
Actually I did! Streitwieser and Heathcock. The professor was so good, I switched from engineering to chemistry in my soph year and ended up majoring in physical organic.
Interesting! I did my undergraduate research in Physical Organic, which in turn is what led me to P-Chem... MNDO studies in molecular configuration was my bread and butter in my studies... spent 35 years in instrumental analysis... Mol Vib, AE, AA spectroscopy... I LOVE Chemistry! Even to this day, when I'm bored... I'll break open an old text book and do integration by parts and matrix determinants... I know! I'm a bit bent! LOL!

Not sure that leaded gasoline was initiated by government. Seems that the automobile and petroleum companies started that. Catalytic converters ended it. Government mandated the air quality that introduced the catalytic converter. Do not interpret the comment as supporting government, that’s still an unanswered question of whether the citizens are capable of self governing.

I think we are here.
As a friend once told me, those that chose unwisely by choice, wouldn't have been happy in Heaven anyway, all full of love, joy, happiness where there are no more tears, pain or suffering like that.

Anyone who has worked for the Federal government knows how inept they are. The people delivering the message might not even know they are lying. They are just reciting the talking points from their "briefing book." (I prepared way too many of these for Fauci...I did not knowingly lie in any of them, but in hindsight many of my comments were likely exaggerated based on the info I was given...in regards to advances in science at the NIAID)
Totally agree with you - the phrase "need to know" and "good enough for government work" come to mind. The average person who has not worked in government or in large public companies, has no idea the amount of mediocrity and outright ineptitude there is, nor the politics. To assume any level of competence is natural, but misguided, sadly.

And yet, so many sheeple still feel the government looks after them and actually cares. “Not my guy! He really, really, really cares about <insert grievance here>, which is sooooo important! Like, major important! He’d never lie!”

The Judge is half right. He just didn’t want to discuss the alternative path. The Constitution does give us the tools to deal with this problem. The 1st Amendment empowers us to criticize our government and find the truth. The vote the power to change that government. And the 2nd Amendment the means to remove them if they will not go.
As John Adams noted, 'Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.'
The problem is that we have allowed immoral people and petty tyrants to occupy high office in our government (e.g., Fauci). We tolerate a Congress that will not do its job. We embrace and allow into our nation people who are unworthy of being our fellow citizens or even residents (ref: Biden, Obama & illegal immigration). We have a political party that is focused on graft and corruption and that will do anything to retain their power to include lying cheating & allying with foreign enemies. (Democrats, DSA, Socialist, Marxists, Jihais).
So if you want a better government, vote for it, so you won’t have to take up arms to fight for it. But, be ready to take up arms, if needs be. Don’t elect the Party of Corruption. Don’t elect people hostile to your rights. Don’t vote for people who are the allies of foreign enemies. Insist on good candidates. Weed out the ones who once in office prove to be just feather merchants or corrupt go-alongs. Frankly I think recent events have shown that we are making progress on this front.
Unfortunately most elections are rigged. So until that is remedied, we can “vote” all we want when those in power already know whom the “winner” will be.
Well, we could have had the SAVE Act except for the RINO failure theater. It would have helped. In the meantime, make the win to big to rig. Worked in 2024. Make it work this year. Go Vote. No excuses.

Look at it this way: I don't want to be on the hook ALSO for tax money to pay victims of horrible policies of horrible politicians I specifically voted AGAINST. If the costs can be borne by the DELUDED voters who ENABLED those policies, I might be persuaded. OTOH, I'm always saying "Government shouldn't do ANYTHING because of the Law of Unintended Consequences." so there's that too.

There's a simple fix: eliminate sovereign immunity for ALL public serpents - from the top to the bottom. They should be personally liable for any damage they do, especially under color of law.
Exactly. It should be that if they are caught telling the truth and not lying, they are immune from prosecution and monetary liability. If they lie to us for our own good and their own comfort, they are criminally liable and civilly exposed.

I've been an attorney since 1982, and I can say that it's tricky finding a specific constitutional right on which to sue over some of these issues. So, here's something I've been thinking about, and it's definitely something that can be used as a defense against mandated vaxxes.
First, learn more about the Constitution. A good place to begin is to go to JBS.org and its "The Constitution Is the Solution" series of videos and watch them. In 2020, when I did that, I learned things I didn't learn in law school. Second, get a copy of the Bill of Rights, and read it. Keep a copy at hand and re-read it.
Next: did you know that there are constitutional rights that are NOT specifically named in the Bill of Rights? There are, and you can thank James Madison for that. He was afraid that if they made a list of specifically enumerated rights, like the right to bear arms and the right to freedom of speech, that in the future a court could decide that only those rights were promised -- and nothing else.
Now look at the Ninth Amendment, the one Madison insisted be added: "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people." What important right do we all have that's not listed by name in the Bill of Rights?
The right of self-defense. And what circumstantial evidence supports that very important right? The Second amendment. Why did the people keep the First Amendment right to free speech and the Second Amendment to bear arms? Both those rights directly relate to the right to self-defense.
So, when a government knowingly lies to you about something that presents a clear danger to your health, you can argue that it's violated your right to self-defense. The problem then becomes the burden of persuasion (not proof). When you are the person suing, the plaintiff, YOU have the burden of persuasion.
That's why, in cases about our right to say NO to health mandates, it's better not to sue the government, but to do what we want and make the government sue us, so the government carries the burden of persuasion.
Physicians for Informed Consent (PIC) has a new book, the "Silver Booklet," Vaccines and the Diseases They Target." This book compares the risks from diseases versus the risk from the vaccines for those diseases. Guess what? When you look at the charts, the risks from the vaccines are higher than from the diseases.
See where I'm going now? If the risk from a vaccine for measles is higher than the risk from measles, and if you have a constitutional right to self-defense, then when your school district's or the federal government's mandated vaccination is riskier than the disease it's supposed to prevent, you have a right to self-defense, meaning to say no to the vaccine. (Your right to self-defense includes the defense of others, i.e., your children.)
Ah, but what about the government's right to defend the public's health? We are so used to the idea to get vaxxed to protect others -- but that's anti-constitutional. There's a reason the constitution talks about INDIVIDUAL rights and liberties. America is not a communitarian country. No one can be forced to do anything to help another person. You cannot be forced to give blood. You cannot be forced to donate an organ. You cannot be forced to give up your own health, or to even just to RISK giving up your own health or your child's health.
In California, I helped thousands of people successfully say no to the COVID medical experiment without losing their jobs, without paying attorneys, and without the help of their unions when the unions threw them under the bus. I did it by arming them with the Constitution and encouraging them to engage in organized refusal to comply.
Defend the Constitution and it can defend you.
DO NOT DRINK THE KOOLDAID AND CALL FOR A CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION! OUR ENEMIES KNOW THEY NEED TO CHANGE IT, SO THEY HAVE ALREADY REWRITTEN WHAT THEY WANT INSTEAD.
Please pass this on. Somewhere, some other attorney or person faced with mandated "health" care will see this and realize, "Hey, I can use this argument, too!

Oh we tell our kids loudly and often not to believe anything they hear on mainstream media or coming from the government. They all lie for money and power.

I'm not sure my son-in-law sees it. But he's kind of out of our control. We still regularly talk to our daughter about it. My high school aged son? He's harder to get through to but we reiterate it to him almost daily. I dread him going off to college and getting completely brainwashed (and have told him that repeatedly). I like to think that 18 years of talking about it all has left some sort of mark on him and the brainwashing wont be as simple.

The four branches of government have always and consistently passed the buck. They are all corrupt. They tell us to vote in the right people to fix the problem, but they know the electoral system is rigged. Do you all know about "Testing Theories of American Politics: Elites, Interest Groups, and Average Citizens". It was co-authored by Prof. Martin Gilens and Prof. Benjamin I. Page? Thst study tells us all we need to know about voting.
Edward Bernays wrote this over 100 years ago in his Propaganda book:
"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ...We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society. ...In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons...who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind."
