I knew an 18 yo arrested for selling marijuana back in the 70's. He turned down a deal that would have required ratting out his supplier (a school friend whose dad was sending his kid pot from Central America!) and went to prison for a year.
As his release date approached, he was offered a deal to get out of prison early and go on parole instead. He was super smart for such a young guy. He said no, because you do not get back your civil rights until the sentence finally ends.
People on parole or probation are still felons. Anyone else, despite a criminal conviction, is an ex-felon, meaning not a felon at all.
I’ve always been of the opinion that just because you can fog a mirror doesn’t mean you have a sacred right to vote. You need to have skin in the game, in whatever form it takes. Why should a bunch of renters be able to vote for an increase in my property tax for example. Does the average voter know the difference between a revenue and a general obligation bond when a funding measure is on the ballot? We need a basic civic competency test, I mean basic. Pass it, get your voter card and cast your vote. Dare to dream.

Part of what the jury is having problems with might be this: One of the side effects of several of the drugs she was taking is creating homicidal tendencies - while taking the drugs or trying to taper off from them. This is well known and documented, and they should never be prescribed to anyone for any reason. IMO, her doctors and pHARMa should be on trial with her.

I have to ask, because nothing I've seen or read so far has addressed this question directly about her on the night of the killings. And maybe I just missed it. That question is: was she having a psychotic break at the time she killed her children? In a psychotic break the person loses touch with reality. If she was in that state, would she know what she was doing? And that should be factored into this trial. Then there would be the next, admittedly sticky question: if proven she was in that state what happens to her? I'm going to admit right here that, were I on that jury, I'd want that question answered before rendering a verdict. And that's not simple empathy. It's looking at the totality of what happened and whether the trial had done a good enough job of addressing it. Killing your children is something so repugnant most of us don't want to look at it too deeply. I know I don't. But that shouldn't mean an automatic guilty verdict without looking at the total picture of what she was dealing with. Perhaps that's what is really behind the jury's hesitation.
If she’s found guilty, she gets life in prison without parole. If she’s found not guilty by reason of insanity, she’ll be committed to a psychiatric hospital, but she could potentially be released someday if she’s determined to no longer need hospitalization. (And I shared earlier a horrifying story of a woman who did the same thing to three kids, plead insanity, was "rehabilitated" and released, proceeded to have three more children... and kill them, too. I wish I were making that up. :(
A woman killing her babies gets national coverage. We never hear about the many instances where someone kills a spouse or sibling(s), thanks in part to these murder/suicide drugs (they've had that nickname for decades). The best estimate for mass shooters is that 98% of them were on these drugs prior to the shootings.
Of course, I heard she tried to kill herself and is now paralyzed. Sounds like she's going to be in a prison no matter what. How far is she going to get like that?
Is it reasonable to assume that a person can be predisposed to postpartum psychosis? In other words, will it happen every time such a person gives birth? If that's true, then she should have been closely monitored by her physician and family members.
Whether the definition of her emotional state is labeled psychosis may be impossible to prove in her case. Evidently she took a short phone call from her husband ( he testified to this call under oath) mid murder, stopped to talk to him & answer his question, then went back to murdering her children. She seemed pretty methodical in her planning & approach to carrying out her plan. If she had a modicum of decency at this point she’d plead guilty & accept life imprisonment. & spare future jurors & her family ( including her x) the trauma of another trial.

As I said, I haven't seen or read much about the evidence, the transcript, etc. But I do have questions. Maybe the day will come when we can see all of the testimony. Until then I'm still unsure about her mental state and whether she was truly experiencing a psychotic break. Mind you, I haven't made the leap to that. But I can't discount it either with the information available to me.

That might be one of the things the jury is considering. Although, most medical professionals have bought into "Take this pill for this symptom." Very few can tell you the side effects of the poisons they're prescribing.
Depending on the outcome, she is now handicapped and will go on medicaid and I don't want to pay for her health care and her WIC and any other services she will get. I pay for prisons too so no thanks. The faster she is gotten rid of, the better.

Hoping to get the letter releasing me any day, but I admit this case makes me reconsider. I am sure any case we get is not newsworthy here in my county, and for the rare criminal trial, they would release me once they find out my husband is a cop. You need a WRITTEN letter that excuses you from jury duty? We are required to call the night before and 95% of the time we don’t need to go in. The last time I was told I needed to go,I asked for a 6 month extension. 6 months later I make the summons call and I no longer was required to go. While it’s heart rending that three children are dead at the hands of their mother, we should be at least as concerned that multiple doctors found it necessary to prescribe to her enough mind altering drugs to kill a herd of elephants. Our medical profession is a total and complete balls up mess that, in this woman’s case, altered her perceptions so much that this horrible thing happened. Before anyone goes overboard, she did it, she said she did it and she should have to bear the consequences. But what should also happen is that each and every one of these doctors should at the very least have their licenses to practice suspended or revoked and have to spend their own time and money getting retrained. It’s a travesty all the way around, but simply adjudicating this woman isn’t nearly enough for real justice to take place.

Men under 30 (or 40, I’m easy)
Men who are on any form of public assistance
Men who have felony records
Men using any form of SSRI

In 1787, the newly drafted Constitution gave states the power to set voting regulations, but most still based it on property ownership.

I have to ask, because nothing I've seen or read so far has addressed this question directly about her on the night of the killings. And maybe I just missed it. That question is: was she having a psychotic break at the time she killed her children? In a psychotic break the person loses touch with reality. If she was in that state, would she know what she was doing? And that should be factored into this trial. Then there would be the next, admittedly sticky question: if proven she was in that state what happens to her? I'm going to admit right here that, were I on that jury, I'd want that question answered before rendering a verdict. And that's not simple empathy. It's looking at the totality of what happened and whether the trial had done a good enough job of addressing it. Killing your children is something so repugnant most of us don't want to look at it too deeply. I know I don't. But that shouldn't mean an automatic guilty verdict without looking at the total picture of what she was dealing with. Perhaps that's what is really behind the jury's hesitation.
If she’s found guilty, she gets life in prison without parole. If she’s found not guilty by reason of insanity, she’ll be committed to a psychiatric hospital, but she could potentially be released someday if she’s determined to no longer need hospitalization. (And I shared earlier a horrifying story of a woman who did the same thing to three kids, plead insanity, was "rehabilitated" and released, proceeded to have three more children... and kill them, too. I wish I were making that up. :(

A woman killing her babies gets national coverage. We never hear about the many instances where someone kills a spouse or sibling(s), thanks in part to these murder/suicide drugs (they've had that nickname for decades). The best estimate for mass shooters is that 98% of them were on these drugs prior to the shootings.
Of course, I heard she tried to kill herself and is now paralyzed. Sounds like she's going to be in a prison no matter what. How far is she going to get like that?
Is it reasonable to assume that a person can be predisposed to postpartum psychosis? In other words, will it happen every time such a person gives birth? If that's true, then she should have been closely monitored by her physician and family members.

Whether the definition of her emotional state is labeled psychosis may be impossible to prove in her case. Evidently she took a short phone call from her husband ( he testified to this call under oath) mid murder, stopped to talk to him & answer his question, then went back to murdering her children. She seemed pretty methodical in her planning & approach to carrying out her plan. If she had a modicum of decency at this point she’d plead guilty & accept life imprisonment. & spare future jurors & her family ( including her x) the trauma of another trial.

As I said, I haven't seen or read much about the evidence, the transcript, etc. But I do have questions. Maybe the day will come when we can see all of the testimony. Until then I'm still unsure about her mental state and whether she was truly experiencing a psychotic break. Mind you, I haven't made the leap to that. But I can't discount it either with the information available to me.
Sasha stone posted that she has watched the entire trial, so it's available somewhere. But she said that Lindsey answered or returned a phone call with her husband between the killings and acted normallyl. This is not something people in the midst of a psychotic break do.

FREEDOMLOVER, but the question worth asking is was she actually taking the medications? Just because they were prescribed is not proof she ingested them. From my understanding many mentally ill people do not take their medications.
Several were found in her system. But the problem is some of these drugs even cause the homicidal tendencies for a while when you quit taking them.
In the TikTok video it was stated that they found those meds in her system, presumably at the hospital.

That might be one of the things the jury is considering. Although, most medical professionals have bought into "Take this pill for this symptom." Very few can tell you the side effects of the poisons they're prescribing.

Death penalty isn’t harsh enough - life in prison, no possibility of parole so she has to live with what she did - that should be her sentence.
Depending on the outcome, she is now handicapped and will go on medicaid and I don't want to pay for her health care and her WIC and any other services she will get. I pay for prisons too so no thanks. The faster she is gotten rid of, the better.

Fine... then add the doctors that prescribed those Rx to the list of defendants on charges of Accessory to Murder...and as well her husband for Reckless Endangerment Resulting in Death... 3 counts for everyone... but none of the circumstances, or others involvement diminish the level of her guilt one iota.
This just came to mind... I don't know why it took me so long, but given that she is a Professional Registered Nurse... I would dare say that she had the educational background to know what she was taking and knew exactly what the possible side-effects of those Rx were prior to taking them... and that's if she even took them in the first place... Is there laboratory blood testing results that verify the presence of the alleged drugs in her system... I don't know... But I do know that murderous woman is as guilty as sin... not only of 3 counts of murder, but of 3 counts of Premeditated Murder, and I'm of the opinion that her husband was her willing accomplice... they both should suffer either, at least, life imprisonment, or perhaps the death penalty (by the same means as they delivered to their children... strangulation).
Let's not forget that most people try (and succeed) to get out of jury duty, so we might not be getting our best and brightest. I run a medical practice and was recently summoned. Hoping to get the letter releasing me any day, but I admit this case makes me reconsider. I am sure any case we get is not newsworthy here in my county, and for the rare criminal trial, they would release me once they find out my husband is a cop. I will grant that most women are too emotional (not me), but men have their issues too. Most serial killers are men. Most pedophiles are men. You need a WRITTEN letter that excuses you from jury duty? We are required to call the night before and 95% of the time we don’t need to go in. The last time I was told I needed to go,I asked for a 6 month extension. 6 months later I make the summons call and I no longer was required to go. I thought it was this way in every state.🤷🏻♀️ I learn so much here…

While most of us just wonder what could be taking so long when she actually did kill her children, people who spend way too much of their time on the internet, not surprisingly, go way too far in their judgements about those doing the job. Maybe, just maybe, the REAL problem is a press that spends literal HOURS every day second guessing everything about this one, relatively unimportant trial. While it’s heart rending that three children are dead at the hands of their mother, we should be at least as concerned that multiple doctors found it necessary to prescribe to her enough mind altering drugs to kill a herd of elephants. Our medical profession is a total and complete balls up mess that, in this woman’s case, altered her perceptions so much that this horrible thing happened. Before anyone goes overboard, she did it, she said she did it and she should have to bear the consequences. But what should also happen is that each and every one of these doctors should at the very least have their licenses to practice suspended or revoked and have to spend their own time and money getting retrained. It’s a travesty all the way around, but simply adjudicating this woman isn’t nearly enough for real justice to take place.

Completely predictable response, the slippery slope I was talking about on the last article about this. Wasn't on the jury, but I don't excuse murder regardless of hormones. Next thing you know "the testosterone made me do it" will be trending for pedophiles and male murderers. Maybe if you could not ever be released from facilities for the criminally insane I would vote for that. But you can so it would be prison for life if I were on the jury.
