The embedded "Durbin" link tells the story; if I rede it right, AFTER the "lowering" of the standards to "discount" forced--and juvenile--behaviors, the RESULTS have been:
→ 307 former law enforcement & military hired
→ 470 hires with advanced degrees
→ 440 hires fluent in multiple foreign languages
That's over a thousand new employees deemed to have critical "other" capabilities. I have no doubt whatsoever that EACH has been made aware that any FUTURE indiscretion will result in termination.
I interviewed for the National Security Agency one time. I never got a callback because of a truly horrible first-time polygraph test. The more I said, the more the operator twisted it, and the more upset I became trying to "correct" the misimpression. It was decades later that it hit me: THAT was the point. Not at all, "Is this clown telling the truth?", but rather, "Can this clown be made uncomfortable?" Think about it, the operator was manipulating me to try to please him--simply with words. What would've happened if he brought out the fingernail accessories?! Anyway, that's not even the point, which is...
Earlier during one of the interviews I confessed to "trying" marijuana as a freshman in college. I was interrupted: "If we eliminated everybody who'd ever smoked weed, we'd have no applicants at all!"
Interesting. Husband got denied early in FBI application process due to admitting to smoking weed a few times (5 years before he applied). God's plan. He is much better suited to be a beat cop and homicide detective.
I had grown up watching them "catch criminals" on teevee and in the moovees, so it was a shock to find out the "detector" was "lying" about my telling the truth! Of course I was a nigh-eve little thing for just the longest time. I actually thought I could "just teach" at college, and "skip" that whole "research thing." As I say: nigh-eve.
My best guesses for the real reason the FBI took time away from kidnapping plots for governors and pre-dawn raids of old ladies present outside The Capital Jan 6 to rewrite this policy:
1. Some Senator’s kid wants to work at the FBI, but has a small fraternity hazing issue on his record. Thus, the clumsy attempt to create a broad, sympathetic category into which applicants who were “coerced” with kegs of beer could quietly be hired.
2. The FBI found that some highly qualified tech experts, probably hackers, were disqualified due to coming from cultures where “parlaying” with the goats was encouraged (to protect the virgins).
Dick Durbin's question: "’Director Patel, do you believe those who have previously stolen from employers, solicited sex, or engaged in bestiality are qualified candidates that the FBI is losing?”
K-Pat's best answer: "Senator, the best FBI recruit is not above the lowest United States Senator."
Wow the Jenna Pendulum has swung from Sydney Sweeney to monkey sex. My brain's exploding this morning.
Also, I thought the FBI acronym jokes were at the end of the line: "Following Biden's Instructions", "Federal Bureau of Insurrection", etc. but now we have the Federal Bestiality Instigators" or something? yikes!
LOL - I like the contrast so keep it flowing and I'll try to keep up. I can go from Filet Mignon to soup beans, from Motorhead to Mozart, comedy to horror, etc ... but the above contrast was very challenging for me :-)
As my old school counselor once told me, "If a 17 year old lad and a sheep really care for each other, . . ." What can I tell you? It was a progressive town.
PS to Jenna: "Shall we retire to the parlor to parley? I call the davenport!" Pure genius!
I know we can always count on Jenna to bring us the most compelling, up to date news regarding our Satanic Overlords. If the Repubs lose the midterms, stories like this will be one of the reasons.
PS: I actually like Kash and am MAGA all the way, but come on guys!
I think the larger issue is our august Congressional “leaders” made this a topic of conversation at all. Who gives a flying f-ck about this non-issue? Let’s get some clippable quotes on the record and make Patel uncomfortable! “Patel Hires Sheep Fornicators”! What an unserious group of do nothings.
It is not a non-issue and is a topic of great concern when you see dogs present at a vet clinic with anal tears and active rectal bleeding and pain bc of bestiality.
It should be a non-issue for the Federal government, that’s the point. You think any of the senators who brought it up are going to do anything about it? There are already laws on the books to deal with dog rapers and senators are not charged with actually enforcing them, so the only reason to bring it up is to try and embarrass Patel and, by extension, Trump.
This is really weird! I have to ask....have you ever been to or heard about Dupont Circle in DC? On a typical Saturday afternoon the place is filled with gay men (high government workers) in designer clothing, reading the WSJ and doing the crosswords. At night....the place has some rather racy leather bars and exotic nightlife. We live in a world where everyone has a camera and the world is a stage. Fetishes have always been around....people just used to keep them behind closed doors...until the phones.
Sexually touching a child or animal should earn one the noose in the public square. Those involved are sick twist mentally ill subhumans to participate in that and need to be ended.
I thought about that too. The fetishists, the Furries, plus the men and women on OnlyFans doing whatever for money. In addition to the increased visibility into sexual deviance, is this a cultural thing? Does the FBI need to recruit more literal goat humpers into their ranks to infiltrate certain groups of people who are in our country? (The goat humper thing is real. My family that served in two Middle East wars told me stories.)
There have always been those with fetishes but we live in a society now where everyone is allowed to fly their freak flag and get praise for it. I think it has probably gotten a lot harder to vet those for high security clearance in the kind of world we inhabit now…phones, internet, only fans etc. There are no “secret lives” anymore.
Why are standards being revised downward? Answer: We have fewer candidates because fewer people believe their time is worth working at that agency at the salary they are offering. Why not raise the starting salary and you may have more "Qualified" candidates without changing any standards. Better yet (as some have suggested) just dissolve the agency!
Thanks Jenna for bringing this subject up. I'm hoping the pervs don't take over the government! (Ooops! There's a lot there now from what I've been reading.)
We often think of the FBI as "the Nation's police," but it's number one job, imo, is counter-intelligence: anti-spy work. Eliminating that, in this day, could well unleash something much worse. Big Government always says, "Yeah, we suck, but the alternative sucks more!"
Okay.... This is weird. Kind of reminds how they had to change the protocol for how they deterrmined covid 19 medical cases and deaths in the middle of the pandemic. Thst couldn't wait? A 17 year standing protocol at the time. Like someone else said - what's the REAL reason?
@Beth- I have a feeling they're looking for those who can infiltrate certain cultures and easily work their way through them BUT if it turns out they've coddled a goat or three then where do their loyalties REALLY lie: US morals or Middle Eastern (and some Hispanic) morals?
Jenna, can you write more about the Sidney Sweeney type of article? I want to see the what the football air pressures were (in the picture)! I think they were too high!
Yes. And can you load that one up for the next times you go out of town? I may have missed a pair of subtle nuances.
(Incidentally Heather B's latest contains a rewarding meme compilation, one of which has the observation, "Whoever put that 'b' in 'subtle' sure knew what they were doing.")
All I can say is, what’s the real reason that this issue came up?
The embedded "Durbin" link tells the story; if I rede it right, AFTER the "lowering" of the standards to "discount" forced--and juvenile--behaviors, the RESULTS have been:

Please thank him for us for his service. He's probably not expecting THAT today...
@DAvid- I have NEVER trusted polygraphs
I had grown up watching them "catch criminals" on teevee and in the moovees, so it was a shock to find out the "detector" was "lying" about my telling the truth! Of course I was a nigh-eve little thing for just the longest time. I actually thought I could "just teach" at college, and "skip" that whole "research thing." As I say: nigh-eve.
And those who didn't would never want to be part of the alphabet gangs.

My first thought was how many Muslims have applied. 🤨
Come on, man. We all know it’s the Muslim goat-humpers they need for that language requirement.
Oh, and then there’s that nasty rumor about Mitch McConnell…
me too!
The FBI….. where men are men and sheep are afraid 😱
What is the date? ... not April 1st... 🤔
@Dr. Phillips- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! And we ain't talkin' Australia here!
🤦♀️
Oh, so now those previously redacted documents can be released. Got it.
Seriously at a loss here…trying to scrub my brain at the moment.
I know, it’s… a lot.🙈
They’re redefining crazy…it’s
like a competition or something.
This is for hiring in the K-9 unit, right?
Please… I’m still scrubbing.
@Skenny- Outstanding!
@Richared- and your eyes with bleach because of the words we all had to read!

I wanna know why Chris Wray covered up the Trump assassination files in Butler, PA.
As my old school counselor once told me, "If a 17 year old lad and a sheep really care for each other, . . ." What can I tell you? It was a progressive town.
PS to Jenna: "Shall we retire to the parlor to parley? I call the davenport!" Pure genius!
Just like…ewe.
@Tim- my mother called it a Davenport
Is anyone else as sheepish about this whole topic as I am?
Bahahahahahaha [*laughs in sheep*]

I just assumed the "victims of bestiality" referred to the animals - as in the donkeys and asses applying to be FBI agents.

I respectfully disagree Flippin'. The whole time they debate this nonsense, they're not screwing up anything else.
It is not a non-issue and is a topic of great concern when you see dogs present at a vet clinic with anal tears and active rectal bleeding and pain bc of bestiality.

Nope, never been or even heard of it!
@Jenna- you've never heard of Dupont Circle? IDK about the gay lifestyle in DC but Dupont Circle is widely known
I would never lie about not knowing something! :)
I thought about that too. The fetishists, the Furries, plus the men and women on OnlyFans doing whatever for money. @FL- That's what I'm thinking
Took many classes at the JHU Dupont circle campus in the 90s, when I lived and worked in metro DC. Nice part of town back then.
Oh my

I’ll take “things that make you go hmmm” for 500…
😂😂

Patel’s only response should have been:
“It is only proper that FBI agents and other government employees should not be held to any higher standards than members of Congress.”
Jenna, can you write more about the Sidney Sweeney type of article? I want to see the what the football air pressures were (in the picture)! I think they were too high!
😂
As Hans and Franz might say: "We're here to (clap) PUMP YOU UP!" with an emphasized Uncle Sam finger point towards you.
I'll let myself out now.
Yes. And can you load that one up for the next times you go out of town? I may have missed a pair of subtle nuances.
(Incidentally Heather B's latest contains a rewarding meme compilation, one of which has the observation, "Whoever put that 'b' in 'subtle' sure knew what they were doing.")
