I am writing fiction about very real people who lived a long time ago but have been forgotten due to a global deluge they caused that wiped out all trace of their existence. I prefer the term healing circle to seance because that is their true purpose. To bring healing and peace of mind/heart/soul to both the living and the so-called dead, who can grieve every bit as much as those in physical bodies. That is the topic of nonfiction I co-authored with my late wife: The Afterlife Healing Circle--How Anyone Can Contact the Other Side.

Not wrong at all. But a unique description of what I do as a storyhealer. Love it. I wish you had met Jana, my late wife. She could zoom right into what was going on with anyone at the emotional-spiritual level way, way better than any traditionally trained therapist. She was so accurate she scared a lot of people. Instead it called to me and I wanted the same skills. I can do it to a certain extent, but not anywhere near her league.

Is your ongoing fictional store based on you having your own insights and experiences with your real past lives?
Do you usually chat with the same spirits? Do you have any favorites?
Yes, my series is pulled straight out of past lives that have come up (often more than once) during my healing sessions. I usually chat with a group of spirits that hang out around me. My spirit guides. You have guides, too, and so does everyone else (I'm looking at you, Jenna). I also chat with a group of healers known as the Sunan Society and with Maguari, who is a character in my series. Yup. Crazier than a bedbug but essentially harmless.

This book first introduced me to the concept of having spirit guides and spirit groups and it brought me an immense sense of comfort after the passing of my little sister a decade ago.
Do you have any recommendations on how we can better connect with our higher selves and our spirit guides?
Not familiar with Dr. Newton's book. Try, You Are Psychic! by Pete A. Sanders, Jr. Very practical steps on learning to recognize and use your soul senses. You are using them anyway, you might as well do it consciously and with purpose. Please also check out my short videos on my Wider Realities YouTube channel (link in my profile). I have a series on the soul senses that is maybe 20 minutes long between several videos. You might enjoy it.

I am a HUGE classic fantasy and science fiction fan. currently finishing book nine of Robert Jordan's Wheel Of Time series. he's not at the apex of my choices for talented writers but the story is very compelling, if a bit overloaded with sub-plots. however when you take 12, 400+ page books to tell your story, you would almost need a flow chart to keep track of it all.
I might have to add Candice to my summer reading list but gotta admit that I have been shying away from dystopian-type stories a bit. almost cutting too close to home. not that I don't appreciate prophetic ideas but when fiction is one's only 'escape', I wanna go as far away from reality as I can.
anyone who loves powerful heroines, check out David Weber's 'Honor Harrington' series. its space opera wrapped in astute yet subtle social commentary.
