The founders, from their graves: "The supreme court is deciding 'WHAT?!?'???"

David Nelson's avatar

...say the men who wore wigs. #ishouldknowbetter

Skenny's avatar

At least they weren't pink.

David Nelson's avatar

Kinda damning with faint praise, but I'll accept it, and stand corrected!

Frontera Lupita's avatar

Yeah what was with that Wig Thing back in the day?

David Nelson's avatar

Some wag probably said, "Hey, you guys are Whigs; you should wear wigs." and so they all went over to the wigwam and wigged out and came out wagging wigs. Probably. Does make you wonder though why the Bull Moose Party didn't have special hats...

Frontera Lupita's avatar

That’s good…I like that Whiggy, waggy, woo! 😉🤣

David Nelson's avatar

Ah ha! You reveal you are steeped in the lore of Jeeves&Wooster! "Back in Nagasaki where the men all chew tobakky and the women wiki waki woo!"

Frontera Lupita's avatar

Not really steeped in the lore of Jeeves and Wooster. Just the odd phrases that are burrowed into my brain. 😉🤪

Skenny's avatar

"If you give them a whats-its-name, they take a thingummy."

Tonee norman's avatar

Why DID they wear those rediculous wigs, anyway?

David Nelson's avatar

Remember "guys" in high school (um, like me) who washed their hair about once a week? Or so? Gotta think easier to wear a wig, in the 1770s, than find a hot shower, even if as a guy you were even THINKING about washing your hair.

Tonee norman's avatar

But,just,FYI..it’s much healthier for your hair to NOT wash it every day..depending on how oily your hair is ,a couple times a week is plenty, imho, but,I live with horses and use THEIR mane and tail shampoo,so,don’t listen to me.🐴💚🐴

David Nelson's avatar

Umm, I haven't really changed that much since high school... and I still have (some) of my original hair (in a drawer around here somewhere).

Tonee norman's avatar

Well, that makes as much sense as anything..hmmmm. I suppose if you had a few wigs,by alternating, you might never have to wash them,at all..

Very clever,David. I’d much rather ask you than AI !

David Nelson's avatar

"Not stilettos," Skenny would want us to know. ;^)

Justin's avatar

I know, right? I think it's ridiculous that we as a nation have been sucked into a National Enquirer-level cultural issue.

Seems that if they (it's the pronoun I prefer) want to have sports for mixed gender athletes, they should form their own leagues, because we don't presently have a box that fully accommodates them, and we do want to support their right to participate and compete equally with others like them.

CraigN's avatar

Sorry, not sorry, I don't want to support their pretending to be a rock, Turtle, emu or anything else.

Waynes World's avatar

Boy/Girl/Other Then they can argue of the Other Team Coach gender.

Tonee norman's avatar

Oh,when I read the voting choices I didn’t read that choice correctly. I agree that if “they” wanted to create a mixed up sport competition, then, who cares..I guess the wording,”should be divided “ ,made me think my only vote could be the resonable one…

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

Do they really think they are girls, or do some portion of them just want to get into the girls' locker room and be voyeurs, or do they hate women so much that they want to physically hurt them?

Richard schoenenberger's avatar

Speaking as the father of four VERY competitive daughters.

No boy would have shared their locker room…as long as I was breathing.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

SAMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. (I'm skinny but I'm scrappy LOL!)

MaryAnn's avatar

I have a friend whose grandson, age 14?, is now id’ing as a female (name change and fem pronouns to which his family subscribes). To be clear, he has worn dresses, painted his nails, etc. since being old enough to choose. However, this year he is attending summer camp. I did not ask if he is bunking with girls or boys. As a gramma of girls, I would stand strong against having him in their cabin.

Patti F's avatar

My husbands nephew was always like your friend's son. In high school he announced he was gay (came as no shock to anyone) but never once has he declared himself a female. He's just gay. He likes feminine things. I haven't spoken to him in years (he lives in western Canada - he hates everything about America. Shocking, I know) but he, to me, is what these types of kids are. Why they feel the need to try to declare themselves another gender is mind boggling. Just say you're gay!

PEL's avatar

Being gay became too mainstream, too ordinary. So if you wanted to stand out, trans was the ticket.

Keith Jajko's avatar

On that last part, Michael Schellenberger has touched upon the subject. He does super fine work with Public here on Substack.

Richard schoenenberger's avatar

Shoulder to shoulder my friend.

KC & the Sunshine's avatar

That’s just it. We can never be certain.

Dena's avatar

The ones who insist on participating with the girls want to win, want to dominate & can’t succeed with the other boys. They don’t care about fairness & seem truly narcissistic, as if they’re the special ones deserving of special treatment at the expense of others - in this case girls. True gender disphoria is pretty rare. The crazy ones are parents who affirm the lie & push this along.

John Wright's avatar

Call me a skeptic, but I think 90% of them just want to get with the girls. (the other 10% are mentally ill)

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

I think you give them too much credit for human decency... jmo

John Wright's avatar

Perhaps... we do need to seek out and not lose our "inner Polyanna".

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

I don't have an"inner Polyanna"... the USMC strangled that bitch to death when I was 18... and that subsequently killed my tolerance for abject stupidity and utter insanity... no tolerance... no sympathy.

SHug's avatar

Well, I did not go the Marine route, but I'm with Anthony 100%. Life in general, and dealing with people also killed my tolerance for stupidity and insanity.

Stupidity sucks and the ones who defend it suck even more. Do whatever you want to do in the privacy of your own home, but you bring that insanity out on public, you deserve to be made fun of. I don't have to and will not participate in your insanity/delusion. You are not a hero, not a trailblazer, and hey dummy. you ain't a girl either! F' that noise.

David Nelson's avatar

At its core, I think it's "bad coaching/counseling." "People with agendas" trying to create "facts on the ground" by advising especially impressionable, young people, in bad situations, to "go for it!" Why is this a problem, in the United States of America, now, and wasn't, historically, 250 years ago? The means of propaganda are so much better these days, and there are so many more root-less people per capita to be influenced by it.

Justin's avatar

Because more people these days are unable or unwilling to clearly point out the obvious and have the courage to withstand what gets said to them or about them.

We've been conditioned to follow the crowd and not possibly offend someone.

That leads to anarchy and chaos.

Truth is NOT Hate Speech.

It's on one of my tee shirts, and I wear it out in public, because I think the public needs to be given a handy retort for those situations where it needs to be said.

Here you go... From the Babylon Bee.

Positively Paying It Forward's avatar

Absolutely agree that the Bab Bee is one of our national treasures; annual winner in the humour category.

One event where males/females compete almost exactly even, is the 100 mile race. Trade/add/delete all the parts you want, no gender dysphoria issues present at the finish line.

Worth noting, 100 mile race is no small feat.

After a long enough journey, the genders equal out.

Life's like that.

Must be a reason.

Speaking of other national treasures, thank you Jenna for all you do to bring this group together, regardless of our subtle differences (cat hat vs. tinfoil hat wearers, etc. <Laura, that's for you! LOL>), and go out there and have a wonderful celebration of the 250 years of this great country (flaws and all).

I'm guessing, regardless of gender, 99.9% of the world's population would trade places with every one of us in a heartbeat.

Blessings.

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

This wasn't even a problem in this country a scant 40 years ago... and I believe it is a symptom of a dying society... like too many rats in a maze, I for one have no sympathy... I just wish they would hurry up and eat themselves.

Indrek Sarapuu's avatar

In the case of women's wrestling, "physically hurt them" is correct.

Dena's avatar

It in a case in WA state a boy sexually assaulted the high school girl he was wrestling. It’s on video & I believe she’s suing.

Debby's avatar

I think for some they can't win when they're competing with boys/men, so they switch "sides". It's all about winning to them.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

And humiliating women while they're at it.

Jan's avatar

I call them cowards and sniveling cretins.

In The Round's avatar

It’s probably a combination of all of that. Some trans identified people do think they can change their biological sex; they talk about it on PReddit all the time. I believe there is a Fallon Fox quote where he talks about how he likes punching women, so some do want to hurt us. They can cope for all I care. We need humane asylums for these people; they’re delusional and need real mental health care.

https://www.reddit.com/r/trans/comments/1uk6mqh/can_you_really_change_your_sex/

Benj's avatar

There isn't a "they". Some trans are genuine, from the heart, and others are cosplaying to indulge their fetish - or worse, to access victims. And the terrible dilemma of it is that "the community" has not found a way (or even tried to find a way) to police itself so that the fakers can be spotted and stopped.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

Since "Truth is not hate speech," my view is that even trans whom we see as "genuine," are also mentally ill. Something is wrong when people reject the bodies they were born in. Some things are what they are. Hating your sex and trying to change it is the same as hating the fact that 2+2=4.

CraigN's avatar

Agree 100%. The 'trans are genuine' is mental illness.

Jan's avatar

A 13 yr old is mentally ill. Ask me how I know.

DJL's avatar

The fact that there is even a discussion about this at all is pretty sad. It tells you that our society has degraded to such a level that it’s an absolute freaking joke. How did we even get this far? I mean, this is one of the stupidest things that the woke left has ever put out there. We are sincerely caught in a battle of good against evil. Dark and light. I swear to you, there are demonic forces on this earth that are pushing this agenda.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

That’s an impossible take to argue!

Marlene Swann's avatar

Truth, right there.

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

This world does after all belong to "him"... at least for a while longer. :)

The debate about transgender athletes and men in women’s sports currently has National attention.

Reality has no ideology. The mat simply reveals the truth.

One of the reasons I love Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is because it strips away excuses. It doesn’t care about your politics, your popularity, or how strongly you feel about something. The mat exposes reality. Technique matters. Conditioning matters. Strength matters. Everyone who trains for any length of time learns that lesson.

And that’s why the current debate over women’s sports is so frustrating. Read my article “The Mat Doesn’t Lie”

Transsexuals (“Cross-dressers”) back in the day were comedy gold - Skip Wilson as Geraldine, the guy in MASH, or the film “Tootsie”. We took our eyes off the balls(s) & now trannies are a deadly serious & insane issue that allow CHILDREN to be physically & mentally damaged for life, divide the country & require the attention of the Supreme Court. We’re swirling the toilet bowl.

David Nelson's avatar

Not forgetting that MASH's Cpl. Klinger acted as he did to try to establish that he was truly Section-8 material.

Cindi's avatar

Excellent point! Back in the day, anyone w/ such proclivities was considered to have a touch of a mental issue. No longer….

Happy Friday and happy long holiday weekend for all of us that are still stuck in the rat race!

Mic dop Jenna! It's definitely subtraction!

It's insanity that this issue has made is to the Supreme Court in the first place. Even with this decision, the insanity will still go on, but hopefully less in places where people have a brain.

As awful as all of this gender crap nonsense is, living in a digital control grid is 1000000% worse because like most modern day prisons, it will be impossible to escape. This should be the topic de jour in the Supreme Court, not whether or not Steve can play in the same league with Sally. This shouldn't be a thing at all.

The technocratic open air prison is being erected around us at an astounding pace and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. Here is a great video from Truthstream Media on the topic: https://youtu.be/js4KUpPld6c

KatWarrior's avatar

Let me educate everyone on college recruiting for swimming at a D1 school. I do this because our son swam D1 at BYU (top 10 D1 NCAA swim team) 50, 100, and 200 freestyle.

Men:

50 free 19.9 and faster

100 free 43.8 and faster

200 free 1:36.3 and faster

Women:

50 free 21.7 and faster

100 free 47.3 and faster

200 free 1.43.2 and faster

These times are literally worlds apart for men and women! I watched my son and his female teammates compete for 7 years (middle and high school) and there is simply no chance in hell that any girl could compete against my son! Why? He became a man with powerhouse muscles and strength no woman could ever achieve. It’s biology, stupid! Plain and simple.

The Great Resist's avatar

A few years ago, a friend of mine looked up what the world record was for women in the 100 meter sprint. Then she looked up the previous years’ UIL (Texas public school sports league) state track meet results for boys in the 100 meter. The champions of every size classification except the very smallest had faster times than the women’s WORLD champion. And that’s just one state.

KatWarrior's avatar

Yep! Soooooo...who can, in their right mind, support men/boys competing as trans??!!

Jan's avatar

Other mentally ill men or women or everyday evil people can. Plenty of them, horrifically. I see them opening their maws at podiums everyday

Jenna, How wonderful the morning feels when you present a topic where I can agree with you 100%... though I do believe you were WAY TOO NICE... but that's you being you, and I can appreciate your delicacy given that you are a nice person... I, on the other hand, consider biological males who play a game (pun intended) in order to gain the opportunity to succeed in an endeavor where otherwise they would fail on their own merits, to be nothing more than queer-bait little wanna-be bitches that deserve neither the opportunity being sought nor the respect as a genuine human being, let alone as men... and in my humble opinion are as much in need of a good old fashioned bitch-slapping as any other piece of shit on the planet... period.

Jenna McCarthy's avatar

LingOL, that's another way to put it! ;)

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

Well, I do have somewhat of a penchant for stating the obvious... ;)

The Great Resist's avatar

Interesting, isn’t it, that none of the arguments were about biological females wanting to play in boys’ or men’s sports? It was entirely one-sided, which is how you know it’s not genuinely about individuals wanting to play in the gender-class they supposedly identify with, and that it’s really all about sick men/boys wanting to dominate in a sport when they couldn’t be successful against other males.

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

Exactly!!! But can you even imagine a desire that great that would force one to shuck every thread of manhood like a cheap suit in order to achieve that desire... regardless of what it is... and for something so trivial as sports... at an amateur level at best... I can't.

Needs to be reclassified back to it's original category in the DSM-5

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

Back in my day I took ballet class to be with the girls... yeah I got teased by my guy friends... at first!~ They were amazed, and I was LingOL.

Il faut savoir ~'s avatar

It's interesting that an 11-year-old would take this to court! More likely the parents are claiming their son should have been a daughter and thus took their disappointment to court. I have witnessed this at ballet, where some would take their sons and "ply" them to act like girls and be as feminine as can be. One must feel sorry for these kids because they are manipulated by grown-ups. No kid comes up and says, "I need blockers, Mom and Dad." The falsity of it all is sickening. It also reminds me of another scandal in the school: putting boys on Ritalin because, well, they are boys and move too much! Again, adults' BS is creating generational damage!
