During Covid here in Lancaster County, PA, the Amish were my rock of sanity. When I told my Amish roofer to please not tell anyone, but our whole family got together for Thanksgiving in 2020, he laughed and said, "I was just at a wedding with 700 people." Another Amish contractor had a first cousin in his 40's admitted to the hospital with Covid. His mother smuggled in some Ivermectin in his bologna sandwich. He realized the hospital was not helping him, checked out and recovered at home. A local doctor estimated that the Amish reached herd immunity in March of '21. They were the safest people to be around and remain so, regardless of the current measles scam from our esteemed governor.

I have not found any real answer to this. The prepper / survival crowd has nothing but a lot of big talk about armed resistance. I have said for many years that perhaps the Amish had the right idea. Our family doc told me a long time ago that God did not create us to be sitting in traffic and stuck in cubicles under fluorescent lights all day long. He designed us to be wandering around the Garden of Eden, naming animals. He told me that if he could write prescriptions for his patients to go to some tropical island and walk around, picking their food off of trees and bushes, 90% + of their symptoms would go away. He said this back in the 1990s; I would say the nation's health has become exponentially worse since then.

I believe that the 'test' was posthumous blood draw that found measles titers (antibodies), which could come from the mother, after an exposure. but of course the details are dubious at best, since they have to 'fit the narrative'.

Completely agree...I think a give send go across America for the Amish is a great idea. There are millions of people who want them to be left alone and happy. I think of their support to NC flood victims and this hideous government overreach makes me so mad; I want to cry.
I can't wrap my head around the mental gymnastics it must take for anyone to see these absurd 'fines' on Amish schools and think: 'yeah, that sounds fair and makes sense.' to even contemplate such insanity one must have 'conflict of interest' in a visible thought bubble above one's head.

Right to freedom is from God, we follow His rules, not yours.
Violation of those rights is cause for us to JUSTIFIABLY shoot you in the face if you threaten to arrest or imprison us (which is kidnapping, which God does sanction with the death penalty) for directly refusing a needle or fining, stealing property because of unpaid fines, etc.

Here's the side question you raise: How does one survive in a steadily declining society without becoming a victim of it? Two hundred years ago most everyone would have responded as you suggest. What do we do now that we are surrounded by masses of propagandized, compliant cowards who will not muster even the slightest bit of peaceful resistance to mandates, let alone pushing back forcefully?
They are drowning us in a slowly rising tide of illegal aliens (though Trump has at least temporarily stopped this), brainwashed young people and unrelenting pressure on every side to conform. How do you survive when 90% of the people out there are willing to pay the taxes they use to fund the swat teams that get off on shooting your dogs, terrorizing your children and hauling you off to prison for posting "mean tweets" that some muslim took as a threat? Not quite here yet, but the norm in UK and Germany. Coming soon.
I have not found any real answer to this. The prepper / survival crowd has nothing but a lot of big talk about armed resistance. They will collapse like a straw house in a tornado when the government trucks roll up to their house at 3am. The truth crowd is right to keep talking about it and getting the word out, but will it be enough to turn the massive tide? Maybe, but how long can that good 10% last? Not trying to be a black pill, but long term it looks very bad.

Here we are yet again, faced with a scenario where a politician shills for the interests of his largest benefactors, corporations, over the interests of his individual constituents. This is a huge problem and is happening more and more ever since the citizens united ruling by Scotus. If Americans want to flip the script and make politicians accountable to their constituents rather than just their largest corporate benefactors, Citizens United ruling must be overturned.

I support the Amish. Perhaps it would be better for children to be homeschooled. Incidentally, Nobel Prize winner, genius, great scientist, and human rights activist Andrei Sakharov was homeschooled; he never attended school.

I have said for many years that perhaps the Amish had the right idea. Our family doc told me a long time ago that God did not create us to be sitting in traffic and stuck in cubicles under fluorescent lights all day long. He designed us to be wandering around the Garden of Eden, naming animals. He told me that if he could write prescriptions for his patients to go to some tropical island and walk around, picking their food off of trees and bushes, 90% + of their symptoms would go away. He said this back in the 1990s; I would say the nation's health has become exponentially worse since then.
Maybe the Amish have the right idea. Maybe they are "living in an Amish Paradise"!*

Maybe the measles freak out is trying to minimize a malpractice case of a newborn infant with a ruptured spleen or something else “modern medicalized and tech inovated child birth” has brought us. I want to know more about that. Sorry if I seem suspicious. After all, in some places abortion can happen at birth.
Jan, and my question is how did that infant get a ruptured spleen? Was the mother Covid vaxxed? Was the child delivered by cesarean and something happen as they took the baby out of the womb? What test was used to determine the baby actually HAD measles (we all know the PCR tests for Covid were full of false positives). So many more questions.
I believe that the 'test' was posthumous blood draw that found measles titers (antibodies), which could come from the mother, after an exposure. but of course the details are dubious at best, since they have to 'fit the narrative'.
of course, back in the day, baby could have gotten full-strength antibodies that provided immunity IF mom had actually had measles as a kid (measles vaccines will NOT make those antibodies). which is one of the possible reasons for a small (but highly hyped!) resurgence of measles - babies no longer get immunity from mom. :(
Warrior Mom, as a side note I read the infant’s spleen was ruptured during birth. Also wondering if mother got the mRNA jabs during pregnancy and that may have been a factor in a positive measles titer? We will likely never know the truth but suffice to say measles had nothing to do with the baby’s death.
I heard the same, it is certainly plausible. but oh yeah the 'measles' had zero to do with it and it doesn't even really serve the narrative, as infants under 12 months are not recommended to get live-virus vaccines anyway! these pols really do think that the general populace is stupid. as Mary and Polly on CHD rightly observed: there are grieving parents and their infants death is being used as a political pawn. :(
