Great column, Jenna! We had a do-nothing Republican Congress, and the people spoke by sitting this one out. I heard JD say too many republicans were POed at the republicans in congress, and voted democrat. I don’t believe that for a second. We just didn’t show up. We wiffed! Moving forward, it’s not the Congress we wanted, but the Congress we have. And we still have the 🔑. We’ll be okay!

We skipped it too, First time ever not voting. Every Republican should be thoroughly PO's at Trump for squandering the momentum we had. It took monumental betrayals to do that.

I believe that there were many in the middle or on the left who voted for Trump over Kamala, and then gravely disappointed over these past 2 years weren’t “fooled” into voting red again.

Look at the results in Texas. A Blue Tsunami. Not statistically possible without massive fraud. Many Red States experienced the same Blue Tsunami. IMO the Democrats completely overplayed their stealing ways. No replay of 2024 for them. Now Trump is uncharacteristically quiet. Something is up. Things will be getting spicy.

Jimbo Jones's avatar

Trump is uncharacteristicly quiet because his advisors have spent months telling him they were going win the mid terms. They even planned a victory party. Then reality arrived.

But by all means, claim fraud, double down, learn nothing about why you lost. It'll serve you well for 2028. 🤣

Jpeach's avatar

Two things can be true at once. Campaign errors and Election fraud. A Blue shift this significant, took both.

As with the questionable results of the 2020 election and what followed with the diapered muppet in the basement, the Conservatives in the Republican Party did pick themselves up, dusted themselves off , regrouped and practiced their at bat swings 100 times daily. Republicans never succeed with faux leadership like Thune.

I've lived in Texas the majority of my 71 years, but I am a native Tennessean with a couple of dozen relatives there, so I am very seriously considering moving back. I have some unfinished things on my plate yet, but I'm absolutely not kidding around about this. I once lived in Commiefornia, and now we have so many Commiefornians who have decided to come here, I don't want to put up with it anymore. This was the final straw for me.

The bluishness of the suburbs is spreading, but the small towns and less-populated areas are still solid red. Choose wisely.

Things could be worse, Jeff you could be living in western New York like I do. We tried to leave and then our first grandson was born while I was fighting cancer. I decided God wants me here and while I am, I can keep voting for my biblical beliefs, and maybe someday we will win. If not, I am right where God wants me apparently and I enjoy my two grandchildren and my church with all my heart and my God is with me wherever I am even in New York.

Don't you really mean "good riddance"?

I’ve worked the polls on and off for two decades in my blue working-class district that is combined with extremely wealthy virtue-signaler types who put out those stupid yard signs that this home has no hate. These are the same people who “rescue” a dog from the shelter and then put the poor dog in a cage all day.

The majority of the voters who came in to vote were the deadbeat types who clearly wanted to keep living on the dole. Very few virtue signalers came in to vote. If this is representative of other places, we should not be shocked. The parasitic class haven’t figured out that the government that gives us everything can also take it all away.

The constitutional republic that was based on a WASP type work ethic does not represent America anymore.

And the man who predicted it all was the “Anti-Federalist” founder no one learned about in school: Melancton Smith or Robert Yates aka Brutus. Historians are not even sure who Brutus was, but he nailed what would happen if we created a strong central government: https://lizlasorte.substack.com/p/will-the-real-brutus-please-stand?r=76q58&utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm_medium=web

Our current reality is proving that Brutus was right about everything: https://lizlasorte.substack.com/p/brutus-was-right-about-everything?r=76q58

I was sad, very sad. But I’m from Taxachusetts where we’re used to being sad after elections. And remember, we survived Nixon. I’m still optimistic about the future, except for the Muslim takeover and the antisemitism. I am most shocked by Texas and glad Florida remains red. We’ll get through this!

Elaine Courtney's avatar

I also live in Taxachusetts, but born and raised in Texas and have been up here for almost 30 years. Didn’t expect Mass to do anything surprising, but the Texas part is what is!

I’ve told a couple of them, with a smile, “Be careful what you wish for”

Ugh. Not even sure what to comment except I hope Demoncrap voters get what they voted for. Will they like it? Will it make them question their choices? The sad part is that we’re also going to get what THEY voted for. Also, elections are fake and gay

Meddling Kid's avatar

Exactly. We hope THEY get what THEY voted for, but without US getting any of the splashback. Keep that shite in your blue cities until they all look like the zombie drug zone in Philly.

Meanwhile, we need to start construction on those city walls like in escape from NY. If Dems want their 15 minute cities, let’s make sure they stay in them.

Best comment: "Also, elections are fake and gay." Ain't that the truth!

I am looking forward to pointing out to my lib friends everytime the Dems fail or f-up. They are so quick to point to DJT as The Problem. Now they are incharge. Put up or shut up time.

The loons celebrate while at the same time Iran issues a statement “this election is the beginning of the downfall of America “

“the new pony smell” got me and I’m not an easy laugh 🤸‍♂️

Other, it's all a scripted show. You know when you find a really great show that you are so emotionally invested in that you laugh, cry, and even think about the non-fictional characters as real people? But then after the season or series ends and you sit there in the silence of reality, you remember that it was all a show. That is what this is all is.

I know. I'm a broken record, but it should be obvious by now for those who have seen this same thing every 4 years.

Jim Breuer has a great short on it: https://youtu.be/y6ltnsEi0OA

And James Corbett:

Absolutely…I can’t count how many times I’ve seen ‘The Accountant’.

I’m thinking the left will overplay their hand this time and completely expose the evil that they stand for. Hopefully proving you wrong.

I saw this election from a different paradigm this year. My husband and I always partnered in our shared belief of the promise of this country. My husband and I proud Trump supporters because he had clarity, know how, and the right policies. And he still does. The different part? God. The God part. The essential ingredient in what makes this country great, why it is great. Because it was formed on Godly principles. And too many of us are kicking God out of our politics. And God will find some way to remind us that He is in charge. So yes, I am disappointed, but not focusing on results of one night. More the big picture. You see my reality is not hinging on elections, but how much in trusting that God is in charge. We only win if we understand that and pray for the wisdom to align ourselves with His plan and not one of our Making. Because if we don't, we will surely fail.

The death knell tolled when Trump and the Israel lobby spent over 30 million to oust Thomas Massie. They didn’t fear his vote but his voice in holding Trump accountable for abandoning promises of no more forever wars, a move to fiscal sanity and the release of the Epstein files. We sorely need more Massie’s in politics. Instead we have socialists, statists, crony capitalists and war mongers in control of DC regardless of the power with the most votes.

I was sad all day, because people voted for the madness, and I kept thinking about my granddaughter who I don't want to grow up under tyranny/burkas. Where I live it's all red, but it's disheartening to know that I live in a country where many think illegal immigrants, Sharia law and trans everything with no parental oversight, no jails, and more states and more justices of their own persuasion on the Supreme court constitute a good country/environment. Especially my state of Texas where I never thought we would see this. At least there are no riots on our side when the other side wins. Congrats though, Jenna. You did make it funny, but I bet no one would have been upset if you couldn't.

Mike Myhre's avatar

Sorry for your loss Jenna!

In our state the people apparently just voted for an income tax. It was sold as a millionaires tax, but due to constitutional rules, it will apply to everyone once it goes to court.

Every vote is rigged. The count (voting machines, mail in ballots, etc), the propaganda, the candidate offering, the party game and much more.

The elections are designed to create havoc on voters. To ping pong back and forth so as to give hope, victory, despair and grief every time. The few wins a candidate does for their constituents are overshadowed by the many losses yet everyone focuses on their wins and blames the loses on the other party. This happens on both sides. As things get worse, voters get more frantic. The take away is to vote harder in every election which will not make any difference.

The reality is that representatives on both sides have sold out the country. They are corrupt as hell and breaking their oaths of office, many laws and not representing their constituents. Many have been in office for decades and their followers refuse to replace them because "this election is too important to let the other side win". Voting won't get us out of it, it just appears to slow the rate of decline of our society. What can make a difference is holding them accountable. This isn't done one time every 700 days, it can be done every day of the year. Instead of campaigning for votes, campaign for accountability. Make a stink (in a peaceful way so you don't make them call you terrorists) and bring them to justice. Both sides need to do this for representatives on both sides.

You do this every day with your writing and we all thank you for that. I truly think that there is power in our numbers if we can organize. Do a go fundme to start a legal fund to take out corruption (don't name a party or it will fail). Imagine the legal fund if 200 Million people all decided to take the Epstein list to court and take out of office every person named on the list. Both sides would fund it since we are assuming it is the other side that is the bad one. This is just one example of how the people could come together with a few clicks and $10 contributions ($2 billion dollar legal fund).

Hang in there Jenna and thank you for everything you do!!

I will believe the “we got them this time” recycled 2020 hopium when I see dozens of high-ranking officials’ indictments land on the desks of respectable (not activist) judges.
