We have one "city" in our county and it's very blue. They have "protests" every Saturday on the square. They've been doing it for over a year now. It's a tourist town and I feel so bad for all the small businesses that want to attract that tourist business but they're being completely overwhelmed every Saturday from 11-1, peak lunch hours. The stupid town keeps giving them the permits so they keep doing it. And it's like clockwork - at exactly 1:00 every week, they all go home. I often wonder how much they're being paid.

ICE is particularly disliked because it is seen as deporting citizens just trying to exist without the appropriate paperwork, not just violent criminals. It has the "papers please" ring to it where everyone must prove they are a citizen. This was setup by the Biden administration and it is very difficult to 'unwind' what was done. She said things that any normal parent would not want the very young child to have to ponder, since children are supposed to be shielded until they can grasp certain things.
