I am an enrolled tribal member of the 3rd largest Federally Recognized Tribe in the USA. For years I have tried to encourage Republicans to reach out to tribes, but I was literally told that because we were only 2% of the population that they wouldn't. I warned many a Republican that my people were being radicalized by the left. My own Chief is absolutely conservative, in fact he is sooooooo conservative. However Republicans like Kevin stitt of Oklahoma made statements that he was going to get rid of reservation land. Stitt declared war on all tribes. We still cheered mark Wayne Mullins appointment because he is an enrolled Cherokee member. I watched the left ballot harvest in California tribes, hand out gift cards in Nevada, and further their radicalization of tribes that were conservative.....now you have 2 tribal members running as Democrats and DSA members in Alaska and Oklahoma..... There's no one to blame except the Republicans for ignoring a population. A population that maybe 2% however because of what I call white guilt, will probably win. Republicans are getting what they deserve.....I am conservative but....you guys made your own bed. Own it.

I'm by no means Native, but it seems the whole concept of "reservations" is a very Democrat one. ie, "we'll support your minimal needs, but you must live here".
Reservations are not Democratic. We were guaranteed land in half a dozen places and moved continuously until we were put on land that is usually a dust bowl. Treaties are still in courts today. In fact, the supreme Court made a huge decision in 20 20 regarding reservations and sovereignty. I suggest that you go to a reservation and you will see poverty. I'm sure I misread your intent and what your comment was, so I apologize, but please know that the treaties were made not because there was war as many tribes supported the Patriot cause in the Revolutionary War... This is rarely discussed. We signed treaties such as the Hopewell treaty that were literally signed in perpetual friendship, yet they are painted a different way in history.

So that's just one example of a thousand. Stitt literally tried to disband sovereign land owned by tribes. Then the lgbt crew came in and they took a phrase called to Spirit that was only used by one tribe and used to represent a medicine man or a woman who had lost her husband and didn't had to do two jobs, but that phrase was literally co-opted by the LGBT group to mean a trans person.... Or a gay person, which is not true. That phrase was entered into Native American culture by two Caucasian evolutionary biologist in the 1970s that wanted to experiment to see if they could ADD A CULTURAL PHRASE INTO A GROUP and see if it was accepted..... Tribes have been co-opted by Democrats. Then younger generations in public schools we're told that the term American Indian was bad and that we should be using the term indigenous. The younger generation would then come home oftentimes to their grandparents and tell their grandparents that they were using colonialized language. This break in generational language as caused a break in generational values. Indigenous is not the term that should be used for Native American tribes.. indigenous is a global term and many tribal members believe that that term is being used by Democrats in order to break our tie to the land. Because the true definition of indigenous is anyone who's born there. Which means you are indigenous. Democrats have come on to our reservation and taught our children that their grandparents don't know any better... Ugh... Democrats in public schools have told our children that two-spirit is a term that we've always used which is untrue. Republicans have had a hands off approach to tribes.... Were they left a vacuum of knowledge... It's been filled with complete BS. Add on the poverty rate and the press.... President Trump was the first person to put an office in the White House that was for the missing murdered and indigenous women cause (MMIW) But that's not what they're told. They are told that Joe Biden did. Trump got rid of the stigler act which reduced reservation size and whom tribal leaders have been trying to get rid of with every president for the last 8 decades but he doesn't get any press on that. So now tribal members have become radicalized in some areas. They have been courted by Democrats, taught be Democrats and there food cards have been filled by get out the vote blue vote in Nevada. Of course these are all just small examples but largely this has been going on or different facets for at least the last 15 years.... Let me give you an example of the wall. In 2006 there were newspaper articles saying how the deaths on reservations were largely do to illegal immigrants bring drugs over the border. Which is a problem. But today you have tribes being convinced that no one's illegal on stolen land, which makes absolutely no sense. But he who teaches...is who is repeated. .... Then white guilt comes in and people will say vote for the Native, great ... I love that ..but not all Native Americans believe the same things.

my eldest son has no middle name. he has a hyphenated last name (with both my last name and his father's). since that is so long, we decided not to saddle him with an additional name in the middle. my nephew (sister's only kid) has our last name as a middle name. yeah we're kinda weird, what can I say. our dad had only 2 daughters so my sister and I decided to carry that name into at least one more generation. oh and neither one of us has ever changed our names (to married names; she still is married but I haven't been since 1986.) when/if anyone asks me my 'maiden name', I reply, 'you mean my REAL name'? this is it. still have it. will never give it up.
Next time around, there will be thousands of same name candidates running in every election everywhere. Pick your state’s Democrat that will be up for reelection, then change your name legally to exactly theirs. Collect signatures and get in the game.
