I watched a video of the protesters (ice scrapers on full display) in a never ending line, inside the Home Depot. Primarily Brainwashed White Liberals. Same demographic as the community No Kings protesters. If the protest organizers asked them to get their self amplifying mRNA covid injection, after they left the Home Depot, there would probably be 99.8% compliance.
Jenna nailed it: their protest/disgruntlement “could have been directed at elected officials, lawmakers, Congress, DHS leadership” but no. They keep it local and in the streets. They WANT civic unrest and crime in our neighborhoods, and petitioning our leaders for change the mature and legal way doesn’t cause that. It’s literal Soros indoctrination to destroy our country from within by destabilizing it. But you can’t destabilize our country by honoring and following our Constitution. That’s how well it was written.
The founder of Home Depot is a conservative. The company advertises it supports the military by trying to hire veterans. That is the real reason for the Scraper Caper. Believe me, if day workers gathered in front of Planned Parenthood and ICE raided the Planned Parenthood parking lot, no one would be signing up for abortions and then not showing up to teach PP a lesson.
Oh the NoKings/Indivisble peeps wouldn’t need to ask their “protestors” to get the “self amplifying mRNA covid injections” because I would venture to say that their ‘crowd’ is likely 99.8% in compliance already!
That’s what I wanted to do was create a “official Press Pass” for some obscure online Substack and go to these NoKings Protests and ask people if they got the Jabs. And other assorted questions like when, how many, have they had any adverse reactions, any brain fog or memory loss after getting the injections! 🤪🕵🏼♀️
I got my SS card in 1956 and now get (back) a small pittance-level monthly payment. Smaller than if on welfare. After paying my property taxes(house) taxes, I am left with 8k/year SS. So since I am still capable of working, that's what I am doing. Worked as a journeyman painter in the shipyards and aircraft industry, served six years in the USN and chased the American Dream as a lifetime pursuit. I love my nation and signed a contract and swore an oath to die for it. I am dismayed when it is assumed by others that the remaining few in my age demographic are often looked at as indolent or entitled.
I'm curious... did you check what they projected you to get before you started collecting SS? Did they come through with paying what they "promised" (projected)?
At the time that I decided to start collecting, my income was pretty skimpy and I believe the previous few years of gross income determined my position for future benefits.
Yes, it's a strange system. They take your highest 35 earning years and then they have some sort of a "bend point progressive formula".
I don't know if you can make sense of "If you already have 35 or more qualifying years, a low‑earning year will only replace a higher‑earning year if it is actually higher than the current 35th‑ranked (lowest) year after indexing. Otherwise it is discarded and has no effect. So a low‑earning year only harms your benefit when it changes the composition of the 35 years that the SSA uses to compute your AIME (Average Indexed Monthly Earnings)."
I *think* if your AIME is less than $6,721 per month then you get nothing from the third bend point so I think that can "hurt" you. The system is supposed to be progressive but favoring lower earning workers.
Another theory I have is that when they give you an estimate, it is based on you continuing to earn (until you retire) what you are currently earning.
Not all retirees are nuts. But many of the people out protesting at the No King’s Rallies, the Tesla protests, and the street demonstrations are definitely older.
I expect younger Americans not to be able to think clearly; push against conventions and norms and tradition and they are so easily led astray, it is all so of typical of teens, college age and twenty somethings. It’s another matter when adults in their 60s and 70s act like it’s still 1965 or 1970. Happily, there is a growing trend among the young to follow in Charlie Kirk’s path. I don’t see that same trend among our elderly. And I know not everyone who is a Boomer is nuts. But its true that there are generational differences. Compare Boomers with the WWIl generation or to the Twenties generation.
Excellent observation! I had not thought about that. I live in a very red, very rural village and last year went door knocking to get out the vote. Most everyone here is older, many retired, and planned on voting for Trump. So I know that cohort exists. But a lot of Boomers haven't left their protest years (anti-Vietnam, gay lib, women's lib) behind yet. You can tell not just by their looks but by their chants and songs. (my personal fave: pretending to be modern day versions of Peter, Paul, and Mary! 😬)
I saw P, P & M with my mom in the late 80s. LOL. Around 2009 or 2010, saw Dylan with her too.
What opened my eyes was when RFK Jr. was gaining momentum in the last presidential election. That campaign paid for big, solid polls ~ not the biased crap mega media news reports. He said the most accurate polls showed them gaining in every age demographic, except with Boomers. He flat-out said what I did: the last generation to overly depend on TV for news. Those days are looong gone.
Because these people are either retired idiots worried that their 401k's are under attack, or young people that can't compete in a any system that isn't socialism/communism.
Probably the stupidest thing in modern society is our willingness to pay attention to complete idiots instead of ignoring them like we used to do. Do you argue with children?
They are! They are paid to do these dumb things. If they put half as much effort into educating themselves, they could find a better job and make a positive contribution to their lives and society!
This paragraph completely encapsulates all that the left even knows how to do and what they're about:
What’s happening at Home Depot isn’t a scandal. It’s a symptom—of a political landscape that no longer protests to fix something; it protests to feel something. To feel righteous. To feel outraged. To feel like they’re 'fighting back,' even if the only casualties are a few miles of receipt tape and one very confused cashier."
It's all about FEEL, absolutely nothing objectively solid. And of course, this is in Commie-fornia.
The Communist Republic of Cali was likely the worst of the worst.
I think me and my band of dissidents got tossed out of literally hundreds of stores! 😂
One Friday afternoon we organized a trip to our local Costco. Marched in the store in pairs without masks and dispersed 😂. Employees were running around like crazed banshees.
They called the local sheriff’s and no less than 7 patrol cars descended. Couldn’t do a damn thing! Hilarious. 😂.
This wasn’t a protest. This was an act of free speech. Our group was ages 7-75!
Not sure what the Sheriff’s (there were at least 7 officers) thought, but you can be damn sure they knew that a mandate ISN’T a law! The morons called politicians mandated masks which means jack shite!
Thanks, Will! It felt like a huge win at the time.
I LOVE California and I was born here. I HATE what it has become. I will never move. Mainly because I have pretty much my dream life here, but,if I MOVED then the bad guys win….i will not be driven out, but I REALLY hope California can somehow get fixed…
That is so sweet, Tonee. I don’t have many like minded folks in my town. It would be nice to have more like yourself to chat with, have a cup of tea or coffee and feel at “home.”
We have lived in this beach town for 35 years and it is truly beautiful and magical.
If the cost of living was reasonable (which it isn’t) and the political climate was even a slight bit more sane, I wouldn’t likely want to leave Cali.
I may want to relocate to a more rural location with even more land to expand our homestead. But, it’s way too expensive!
just as an aside: my oldest son is a police officer in a town in NW Indiana (just outside Chicago) with a huge retail area (big mall, loads of strip malls around it). early in the convid, store employees would try to get the cops to 'enforce' their mask mandates. he would arrive and tell them straight up, "it is NOT a 'law'. I cannot enforce it. I cannot and will not do a thing unless there's a crime going on. but I CAN charge you will false calls to 911 if you don't stop". guess what, it stopped pretty damn soon.
can't speak for other areas, but around most of Indiana, the cops were having NONE of it! (Chicago proper was insane with the bullshit but I personally know 3 Chicago cops who took early retirement to avoid the jab)
I was in olved in a few of those “protests” as well in San Diego, in Costco, Sprouts and in a small independent bookstore/gift store, Warwicks in La Jolla, CA where the owner Nancy Warwick called the SDPD on myself and four other friends. Didn’t make the headlines in the local La Jolla Light newspaper!
Damn! If I can buy an ice scraper for 17 cents, I'll buy several and keep them! Unfortunately we don't have a Home Depot in South Dakota, so I have to go back to Minnesota to give them business.
Home Depot really won me over during Covid when the Menard's tyrants refused to even allow you to enter the store.
We took daily field trips to HD, the grocery store, and the liquor store…because they were OPEN. (We left our phones at home, bcs contact tracking). When they asked us to please put on our masks, we smiled and said “no thank you.” When they asked for our names and phone numbers (bcs contact tracing), we gave phony ones. That worked for a minute. Then the world went mad and we were barred entry for our refusal. So much for our daily outings 🤷♀️.
We still go to HD. And we still remember their gestapo behavior. Funny how their former followers have turned on them…fickle bunch, aren’t they?
Clearly it depended on location. In (Savage) Minnesota Home Depot was always a refuge for the sane. I'd go just for the comradery of the other unmasked patrons and our conversations about how insane the rest of the world had gone. We would literally gather in the aisles and laugh about the morons (elsewhere) wearing masks.
Home Depot is where you went to get out of the house and see and talk with other people (not wearing masks).
Menards lost a lot of business because of their gestapo behavior.
In Colorado it was full on lock down…”Can I see your papers, please?” An old couple yelled at me for not masking up while HIKING. It was nuts! People getting pulled off of busses, manhandled in the streets…by CITIZENS. Not by officers. it truly was a living nightmare.
I didn't want to "like" your post because this tyranny was awful.
In Minnesota you could clearly see the difference by location. Savage is south of the Minnesota river. The suburbs south of the river were okay. Travel north of the river (closer to the city) and you had the gestapo threatening you.
We really need to make sure such tyranny never happens again. After most of the nonsense was done, I actually overheard neighbors talking to each other wishing they could have arrested people that didn't wear masks.
That the people who behaved that way still can't see it, makes it all the more terrifying. Anyone who can't understand how "average" citizens in Nazi Germany could have gone along with the holocaust need only take an honest look at the US during the "pandemic".
Exactly!!!! Scream, cry, protest, and freak out over other people (Nazi Germany) doing tyranny and yet completely oblivious they are doing the same thing!
This whole Covid thing really destroyed any tiny shred of faith I had in humanity. But it has uncovered a very small minority of wonderful people that I now enjoy conversing with!
While I agree with your sentiment, I humbly reject your premise. As it stands, as broken as it is (and we can agree that our immigration system is broken), the job is: “Securing our nation's borders and safeguarding the integrity of our immigration system is a primary focus of ICE officers and agents throughout the country. Immigration enforcement is the largest single area of responsibility for ERO and is a critical component of the overall safety, security, and well-being of our nation.” This doesn’t distinguish between drug lords or yard workers. Just Enforcement and Removal Operations.
I agree that we should focus on “the worst first.” But what next? What do we do with the millions of good folks who are here illegally but have disrupted census counts and added congressional seats (mostly blue) and adversely affected congressional representation? It’s a bigger issue than just the “worst first.”
I know many of these people (the good ones). I love them. They’ve been here for decades. I DON’T want to see them rounded up and shipped back to a country they don’t even know anymore.
I also don’t want my country stolen by rigging the system through an influx of illegal immigration.
How about we find a pathway to RESIDENCY for good, laws-abiding immigrants who find jobs and are self reliant rather than government reliant? How about employers pay them the same wage they would pay an American citizen? How about we only count AMERICAN CITIZENS in our census, or at the very least, only allow district maps to rely on citizen counts, not all-people counts (which would require an amendment to the constitution).
As it stands, the system is broken and we all lose. It’s fixable. But each side has to give up a little something to make it work, and I don’t think either is willing to do that. Which is why ICE is rounding EVERYONE up 🤷♀️.
Great comments and I've seen you here contributing for quite some time. Very respectful I might add.
I won't be long as this stream has long been passed over by other likes and comments.
Your comment:
"How about employers pay them the same wage they would pay an American citizen? "
We'd all like that (then there be a lot of non-immigrants outside of HD looking for daily work as well, no?), but as nice as I can say this, that's not how capitalism works, and the USA is, without a doubt, a corporation, under maritime law (easy to look up and confirm).
That being said, whatever assists capitalism is 'good' in the eyes of capitalists.
Politics is all about the money.
The American taxpayers have ALWAYS been seen as nothing more than the world’s “piggy bank.”
Everything is about the money.
Others who lean towards morals, ethics, conscience, etc. might find ICE's tactics a bit over the top, ie: Whatever happened to the over 300k children of families that were herded up/detained/redistributed/and never heard of again that ICE was responsible for?
What would need to happen for you to literally pack up and flee your current situation in hopes of remaining alive? That's the case for many of these victims.
Again, I posit that capitalism (and its ways of cronyism/corruption) won the day. Yes, incredibly sad.
Another sad reality is that immigration is always 'thrown under the bus' as a way of deflecting the real issues of capitalism.
I'm sure you've heard the adage:
"The elitist top 1% spend their days convincing the middle class (now for a family of 4, requiring well over $100k annually) that all their problems are due to the lower/lowest class".
You are correct, the 'system' (whatever that fully means) is broken and needs redress, but a true capitalist (of which I'm not) would say, "hey, what's the big deal? Everything is fine."
The job of Elitists/Empire/whatever name is to bring confusion and class discord as a means to keep everyone fighting against one another instead of redirecting energy(ies) against the real problems.
Thanks for reading/listening and if you have more to offer/enlighten I'm an open book and always appreciate open/honest/thoughtful feedback.
If you're interested in a boatload of information supporting some of my thoughts, Badlands offered (on SS) a great (long) article today called Bridges. Highly recommended, but be sure you are by a warm fire with a tall beverage of your choosing before jumping in.
Must have been local or state. During that time here in Illinois we had our bathroom totally torn to the studs and remodeled. We like Menards and were there all the time. We like it much better than HD or Lowe’s. Each to their own.
The funniest thing about this is those aren’t ice scrapers they’re buying, they’re putty knives! You know, for filling holes in the wall when you move. Further proof that these people are just performers who have never done anything that resembles actual work.
Being a patron of HD on an almost daily basis, this made me giggle. If these morons are really standing in line waiting for the returns people to give a shit, more power to them! Welcome to my world! 🤣
How about we close the border and they come in legally..instead of clogging the putrid justice system. Or stay in their own country and fix the problem there.
"What’s happening at Home Depot isn’t a scandal. It’s a symptom—of a political landscape that no longer protests to fix something; it protests to feel something. To feel righteous. To feel outraged. To feel like they’re “fighting back,” even if the only casualties are a few miles of receipt tape and one very confused cashier."
Amen Jenna! It's so crazy that so many people would spend this much time and energy to participate in these worthless shenanigans. If anything, it's hurtful to their cause because they are showing just how ignorant they really are.
As a reminder, this is a government created problem. It was deliberate, it was thought out, it was planned. This extreme response we are seeing with ICE was also deliberate and planned. The government is the problem, not the solution. We are the solution, but only if we can get on the same page.
I'm wondering who is funding these protests? Is it still the 'billionaires" or is this some kind of grass-roots left-over organizers from the '60s Vietnam Protest era having nothing to do since most of them should be retired by now. (Oh yes, those Vietnam protests were interesting. I even went to one in my ROTC uniform. They kind of snickered at me. I don't know why. I was just trying to find out what they were all bothered about. Kind of like Forest Gump.)
Another symptom of how mentally unstable the left has become. I think within 50 years, psychology classes will be studying symptoms, and effects of a mass psychosis called TDS. Symptoms similar to cult behavior where IQ's take a nose dive and the use of critical thinking is nonexistent. And throw in hyper sensitivity, anger and rage meltdowns and confusion when asked what they are protesting (peppered with weird costumes ) and there you have it...a new disease brought on by irrational hate and ignorance.
There was a therapist who was on fox discussing TDS being a real thing & what he was hearing from his patients - I thought oh oh, you’re going to get canceled or worse doc. Sure enough saw him interviewed again last night & he’s getting death threats. These crazies are out of control. This country will be in a world of hurt when they get power again.
The weird thing is that it seems to be boomers doing all the protesting now, and it was them protesting in their youth too. Too much time on their hands and trying to relive their glory days?
I watched a video of the protesters (ice scrapers on full display) in a never ending line, inside the Home Depot. Primarily Brainwashed White Liberals. Same demographic as the community No Kings protesters. If the protest organizers asked them to get their self amplifying mRNA covid injection, after they left the Home Depot, there would probably be 99.8% compliance.
Good idea. Set up a flash vax center. Lure them there with free Peanut Butter Cups. Or hot dogs.
Probably would need those hot dogs to be vegan.
Fake meat would probably work even better.
You nailed it!
Good point!
Or at least "free-range, non-GMO, sustainable, gluten-free, organic, humanely raised, lactose-free, no added fillers...."
And be sure to put it at the parking lot entrance so everyone has to see the sign when driving in…
“Home Depot is anti-vax! Show them who’s boss! My body, my choice! Free [HOME DEPOT DOESN’T RULE ME!] sticker with each shot!”
Oh look, another American performative display of self-righteousness captured on social media.
Anti-ICE demonstrations, No Kings protests, a "peace" plan for the Ukraine war, grandstanding idiots in our Congress, etc.
Our descent into complete and total vapidity looks to be about complete.
Blame the schools first. That's what I do.
I wonder how many of the protesters are being paid. Making a bogus purchase at the local Home Depot sounds like an easy gig.
Or higher...
"hundreds of people lined up to buy 17-cent ice scrapers in order to immediately return them."
Thus, the current "Penny" shortage.
Oh the NoKings/Indivisble peeps wouldn’t need to ask their “protestors” to get the “self amplifying mRNA covid injections” because I would venture to say that their ‘crowd’ is likely 99.8% in compliance already!

"It’s a symptom—of a political landscape that no longer protests to fix something; it protests to feel something."
You nailed it beautifully, Jenna!
Their Prozac is not allowing them to feel, so they have to go to extremes.
It’s more like all the COVID jabs they have had!
That too!
It took me a second to realize that you might be serious—and it makes sense!
Pretty sad. Numbed up, eventually dumbed up.
Here, here! And Hear, Hear!
Yessss!
Ignorance on a new level.
And why aren’t they at work?
They are! This is their job - professional, paid agitators.
AKA parasites.
Perhaps they are at work... for Mr Soros? 🤔
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Because they believe in socialism and someone else should support them?
Bingo! Well, feck that shite!
I've spent my entire life supporting others. I'm rather tired of it.
I think it’s because they are all of Social Security age. At least that’s what it looks like from what I’ve seen on tv.
Some of us at "Social Security Age" are still hard working Americans! (not out doing stupid protests)
I got my SS card in 1956 and now get (back) a small pittance-level monthly payment. Smaller than if on welfare. After paying my property taxes(house) taxes, I am left with 8k/year SS. Older, white, privileged, lefty Boomer Geezers.
In day to day life, I've found no association between age and being "nuts" (aka supporting tyranny and socialism).
I expect younger Americans not to be able to think clearly; push against conventions and norms and tradition and they are so easily led astray, it is all so of typical of teens, college age and twenty somethings. That is fascinating about Kennedy’s not making inroads into the Boomer generation! I suppose they also reject Charlie Kirk’s message too.
I'll assume they just don't know much about Charlie Kirk. Hardly ever on CNN, MSNBC, etc.
Because these people are either retired idiots worried that their 401k's are under attack, or young people that can't compete in a any system that isn't socialism/communism.

And, even worse, adults actually pay attention to nonsense like this.
Back in my day (lol), these people were seen but not heard. And if they made noise, they were ignored.
Sadly, that too is so true.

Another government 'lunacy' program, for sure.
Jenna's comment:
"It’s about pretending a hardware store is responsible for managing law enforcement directives or fixing a broken immigration system."
Since the goal of ICE is to ferret out all the drug dealing, militia minded, criminally minded immigrants,
seems a strange place to look for them at HD, where
THOSE immigrants just want a job, a day's pay, a chance at survival and the possibility they'll be able to feed their family.
If ICE really wants to find the drug dealers, the child trafficers, why not look within, or dial up CIA headquarters and ask for a tour?
Nard,
Great comments and I've seen you here contributing for quite some time.

Blessings.
Must have been local or state. During that time here in Illinois we had our bathroom totally torn to the studs and remodeled. We like Menards and were there all the time. We like it much better than HD or Lowe’s. Each to their own.
No mask gestapo?
The funniest thing about this is those aren’t ice scrapers they’re buying, they’re putty knives! You know, for filling holes in the wall when you move. Further proof that these people are just performers who have never done anything that resembles actual work.
I know!
Being a patron of HD on an almost daily basis, this made me giggle. If these morons are really standing in line waiting for the returns people to give a shit, more power to them! Welcome to my world! 🤣
I wish I could find a decent frost/ice scrapper. I guess I could put my blank plastic vaccination card to good use.
My dad always swore that expired Visa cards worked best.
In the PNW we get ice as often as frost, and a card ain't going to do it!
Nor a plastic putty knife!
That’s what I use in a pinch. I keep a couple of blank library cards too. (I worked at a library).
Why don’t these groups of do-gooders put their time and money into immigration lawyers? Get these hard workers waiting outside the HD work visas?
Because that might actually help. They really don’t want an answer or a solution; they just hate Trump.
And, to create chaos and continue their false narrative
My mantra. Ever time. “But what are you actually DOING?” Because, ya know, those stupid signs help exactly zero people.
How about we close the border and they come in legally..instead of clogging the putrid justice system. Or stay in their own country and fix the problem there.
I see retarded people
I see what you did there…
💯😂💥😎
And the Phama companies will create a pill for them to take!
I have a pill for that. It’s red.
So true!
I can picture the meme now: is the ice scraper in the room now? Lmao
😂😂
There was a therapist who was on fox discussing TDS being a real thing & what he was hearing from his patients - I thought oh oh, you’re going to get canceled or worse doc. Sure enough saw him interviewed again last night & he’s getting death threats. These crazies are out of control. This country will be in a world of hurt when they get power again.
Praying that does not happen any time soon. But I live in Virginia so we will soon have a certified looney as governor.
And they will link it to mass brainwashing by a captured media in bed with the government.
🫸🏻🫷🏻
The weird thing is that it seems to be boomers doing all the protesting now, and it was them protesting in their youth too. Too much time on their hands and trying to relive their glory days?
Trying to be relevant.
Why do you never buy ice scrapers on sale?
Because they take only 20% off! HAHAHAHA
